Charged me £125 because I’d put my partner’s occupation as manufacturing engineer instead of mechanical engineer…even though he does both at his job. Customer services representatives are rude and aggressive. I was told I’d still need to pay the £125 even if I cancelled my policy within the free cancellation period of 14 days. I have now found out that 1st Central offer low prices to lure you in and then fine comb the policy to check for ‘mistakes’ or make aggressive phone calls to pressure you into making a mistake and then make their money through the extra charges they apply. Disgusting. I would never use or recommend this company again.

AVOID They remove comments which are the truth then block you so others customers cannot see, don't use this insurance company there a complete scam. Will not pay out your claims and will charge you ridiculous amounts to make a simple change to your policy's positive reviews are paid for please view the negative ones as these are the truth!

Horrible company. So many hidden costs I was asked to pay a further £187 after paying a year upfront. I left the uk for 8 years and moved back because of this they wanted documents from 8 year+ ago. I paid £50 to leave rather than the £187 to stay.

Horrible customer service. The prices they charge for policy changes are beyond understanding. Almost £4000 for a change of address, where a new policy in a different company was offered for £999 annually. A new one with them was almost £9000! That's sick. Never again

This company gave me a quote but it turned out to be based on incorrect information even though I’d provided all info correctly… i pointed out what they’d got wrong and then they changed my quote which was crazy expensive so i cancelled it and they still charged me £50!… the cover hadnt even started before they cancelled my quote and I told them I wasn’t willing to pay for insurance they hadn’t provided and they told me that they would charge me anyway. I asked them what would happen if I didnt pay and they threatened me with lawyers! I froze my bank card but too late to stop them from charging me. And what did i get for the £50 they charged me?… attitude, grief, and no insurance. Don’t even consider 1st Central for a quote… they are unscrupulous, rude, and beyond unethical

My son Had a third party accident was offered two settlement offers felt it was not enough so asked insurance company 1st central to reconsider to be told they are cancelling the policy as the car had been modified. It was an MSport BMW had absolutely no idea the car had been modified as all the cars are like this when searched on google. Treated him as if he was a criminal trying to make out these modifications were done by my son when he purchased the vehicle like this from the garage. If they can get out of paying a claim they will do avoid as all costs the worst insurance company around!

I joined 1st central connect using the blackbox. I also had a 2nd driver on my policy. 1st central connect sent an email giving steps for me and the 2nd driver to complete regarding downloading and connecting to the blackbox/telematic device. We both did the steps required of us. I got emails saying that we did not download the app but if we did please ignore this email. Since we did, we figured it was a wrong email. Next thing I knew my policy was cancelled. When I called to ask why they said because the second driver did not register and downlaod the app. THIS IS UNTRUE! I explained this to them multiple times but each customer support worker rudely dismissed me and refused to listen. I have email PROOF from 1st central connect outlining the steps for the main driver and the 2nd driver: (Policy Holder), follow these simple steps: Download the 1ST CENTRAL Connect app to your smartphone (make sure you say yes to those cookies and permissions!) Link your sensor to the 1ST CENTRAL Connect app – it takes less than a minute Stick your sensor to your windscreen without it blocking your view – the sensor shouldn’t be kept loose in your car, pocket, bag etc. (second driver) will need to do the following: When registering, it’s important that they register using their own email address and mobile number, this is so we can set them up with a unique driver record on the app. Then, they need to go to the welcome text message from 1ST CENTRAL Connect and download the 1ST CENTRAL Connect app to their smartphone (making sure they say yes to those cookies and permissions!) The 3 steps required by me and the 2 steps required by the 2nd driver were COMPLETED! YET THE POLICY WAS STILL CANCELLED! Now I have this unfair cancellation on my record because of an untrue claim by 1st Central Connect. I have contacted the OMBUDSMAN AND HAVE BEGAN LEGAL ACTION AGAINST 1ST CENTRAL CONNECT! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND THEIR FRAUDULENT AND SCAMMING TELEAMTIC/BLACK BOX DEVICE

Be carefull with there ridiculous fees they add on. £50admin fee all because my previous insurance made a,mistake in information! Would mot use again as fair enough a fee bit not £50 just to change a bit off information over. Won't be returning to them !

non-existing customer service I canceled my policy online, then got msg about renewing so I called to ensure its canceled, so it was. Then they took £2000 of insurance of my credit card and when I called I was told its my fault because I did not cancel the auto-renewal when I was canceling the policy. When I questioned the logic of this I was told the cancellation quote is£180 so they are happy to refund the rest. Absolutely horrible, no common sense, no possibility to escalate and formally complain.

Sadly, 1st central failed to do the job they were committed to do. I paid enough money through the year and they simple closed my claim, no communication, nothing. My car was hit, I had 2 witnesses, they both seen the person, the car that damaged mine. 1st cental failed to support my claim stating there's nothing they could do. Then without notice closed my case. Said they tried contacting me, which was simple untrue. Please do not use them, pay little more money and get somone better.

Absolutely AWFUL!! Will give you a 6 year credit default with NO COMMUNICATION. 3 years after the policy ended!!! I have never known a company like it. I will remove this if my issue is resolved

I have just canceled my policy after it was renewed yesterday. There is a non-refundable arrangement fee of £50 I had to pay. Arrangement fee. Hmm. Careful with 1st central. I will try not to get a new policy from them in the future

Charlatans- the cancelled my insurance after 63 days even though I had sent them everything they asked for. I am now scrabbling to find another insurance but because they cancelled, for the next 7 years I will be on a list - so far only other quotes for another insurance start at £1200! Disgusting behaviour and VERY unprofessional- wish I had gone for a more recognised company - steer well away from them!

not writing anything out of anger but this organisation is BOGUS - their after sales service is pathetic - they don't know how to manage or maintain the positive impact on customer - I have bought their insurance 1st in sep (they have cancelled it without any reason and then they have forcefully deducted 78£ from my account as a cancellation charge). Then I have trusted them again in Oct and bought their insurance 2nd time and guess what their payment department was facing some issues and they failed to collect a payment from my account and cancelled my insurance without even calling me and the best part they were continuously sending me threatening txt to pay 120£ cancellation fees. I have called many times - emailed but no one responded - I have paid almost 200£ which was not even my fault. pathetic service - pathetic company - pathetic experience.

The worst customer service i have ever experienced in my life. I have been without a car for 4 days as the claims team failed to inform me the garage they use don't work weekends leaving me getting to work with no support. If you call claims, never ever speak to Mvelo she is the most rude, sarcastic, unhelpful agent I have come across. Promised a courtesy car, never received that. Promised a call back by management, never received that. Absolute abysmal customer service. NEVER TAKE OUT INSURANCE WITH THEM!

I insured my car with this company for £143 a month. Then, just after after the start of the policy for a few days I was surprised to be advised that they decided to hike my insurance fees to £195 month as their “Analysis Team”decided to increase the premium. This is despite the fact that they were provided with all the required information before concluding the policy including 3-year No Claim Bonus. Then, I sold my car a few days where I had to pay £190.63 as cancellation fees on line. Their website says, however, that cancellation fees is £50. Further, they refused to refund me the amount of money I already paid for the 17 unused insurance days of £110.50 out of £195 I have paid on 23/10/2023 for 1 months. I was with numerous car insurance companies in this country before, but this the first time I have such a bad experience. I definitely do Not recommend it.
