I went with this insurance through compare the market, they charged me £75 for a policy change for the value of 29p because of an incorrect date. They did this 3 months after I took out the policy. Avoid, I tried to save money by going with them now I really regret it. Customer service is also terrible, the agents don’t listen to you and and make false promises. They just want to make money out of you, god forbid if you have an accident and need help.

Terrible company to deal with. I wanted to change my car so I called them and was told they could not insure my new car as it was a grey import (A standard Mazda, so I'm not sure what the problem would have been) but the lady in the call centre said they would not charge a cancelation fee as they could not insure my car. I was pleased that it appeared they had some good points. Sadly that did not last long. Once I got my new car and cancelled the insurance with 1st Central I was told I would have to pay £50, I interrupted the script reader to say the other person had said I would not have to pay a cancelation fee as they could not insure my new car. Are you ready for the punch line? This is not a cancelation fee, it's an arrangement fee! I made a formal complaint and received a call from another script reader, they made "an offer" to which I politely said I was not on the phone to negotiate, I wanted my £50 back - He put the phone down on me! How professional is that! Then I noticed somebody had complained on Facebook about them and 1st Central published the customers mobile phone number in the public forum, I sent the guy a text to let him know and as you can imagine the chap was not best pleased to have personal information displayed for all to see. It took several hours to remove the post. I would avoid this company at all costs!

I bought my car insurance and still can't see on my account. 3 weeks later I bought new car and asked for cancelation my last one policy, but helpline couldn't help me. Customer assistant promissed me cancelation, but I'm waiting 7 days and still no confirmation and still no money.

The worse inssurance company they will take your money by any means once you pay your bill 2 weeks later they will send an email that you missed an info and they will charge uh fortune I just put wrong day date and they charged me £144.65 be aware that's how they make money

Took out a policy and issues arose due to small print not making statements clearer, there is no free cancellation period will cost you £50 regardless of 14 days cooling off period !!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! The worst car insurance company I have ever had to deal with. Extremely rude customer service - they are not interested in helping you at all. Do not be fooled by the cheap advertised prices, they will try to squeeze as much money out of you as possible through hidden and additional charges. I am stuck with them for a year but will never use them again. Please save yourself the worry and do not give your money to this disgusting awful company!!

Absolutely ludicrous crew of urine extracting goal post shifters extraordinaire ,cheap initial quote used as a sprat to catch a mackeral --once paid, the changes which should have been assessed initially begin, with avaricious ,no doubt ,bonus seeking idiots, providing ever more hoops to be jumped through ,which require ever more of your attention to deal with -- but communication to sort it out with them is almost impossible --absolute waste of time and money and I got so fed up with it-- I finished up just going elsewhere to somewhere not so utterly Micky Mouse--I thought I was buying car insurance not biting on a hook for them to try and play me like a fish in perpetuity--I dont want my car Insurance to become a feature of my everyday life --there are enough pains in the rear end to owning a car without this crew making pests of themselves with ever more unagreed to demands-- designed, almost certainly, to increase premiums whenever possible--because "they have you over a barrel" --they do !! a never ending one !!!! at least they do until you decide to vote with your feet and go elsewhere --sorry I ever entertained them as its finished up being a fools errand -time wasting pain in the rear end dealing with the, almost uncontactable, Muppets--Cheap quote but ever increasingly demanding of your time that wasn't either wanted ,needed or allowed for for,--and that leaves an extremely bad taste of being " taken on " overall

They Charge the extortionate amount of £50 to cancel a policy even if it’s within the 14 day cooling off period and when the policy doesn’t even start for another 10 days. Stuck with them for a year, after which I will never use them again.

They are just hunting for any errors that could occur, irrelevant information to increase the premium. Don't get tricked in getting an insurance from this hyenas.

Terrible service, hung up on my twice, cancelled my policy after 3 months due to loss of job and they've charged me a £50 admin fee, a £50 cancellation fee and every day I've be insured even though I've hardly done 60 miles since taking the policy. Disgusting company.

A had and incident and they didn't fix my car because previous owner had change air filter. I had to fix car by myself even I paid them 140 pound a month. Please never choose them. They will let you down

Completely incompetent. My daughter phoned to ask for a quote for a new policy and they ended up cancelling her old policy (which had 2 weeks left) & trying to charge her a cancellation fee. And this despite her phoning back to explain they had misunderstood and being assured it would be ok. Steer clear they are USELESS.

These guys are robbing people off...so yesterday I have bought a car, from number 30 on the same street, I have insured with 1st Central,I have paid £45,87 deposit, I have driven the car to number 20 where I live, this morning the car doesn't start, and the previous owner refunded me the money...I have called 1st central to cancel the insurance...not only that the £45,87 not going to be refunded, they're even not enough...I still need to pay them £6 for inssuring it for 12 hours....my girlfriend recommended you guys to me, but she's going to leave you even if I have to pay the cancellation fee...you're not here to inssure cars, you're here to robb people of money...I hope you're going to lose as many possible customers due to this review...if you guys have the guts to publish it...shame on you. one star it is too much...

I strongly recommend staying away from this company, if you ever wish to make any chances to your policy. They make their more from this. Absolutely disgusting. I have 5 car and vans and I will never be using this company ever again. £266 added to my policy for 3 months to change my car. They state my new car is worth more than my old one but yet my old one parts are expensive and also nearly two times the bhp. So that's £266 for 3 months which means £1064 extra annually taking my policy to £2000 per year for. 34 year old with only 1 X sp30 and driving 16 years. Absolutely disgusting. I priced my new car up on their web site and it came out at annually £875.00

Had a policy with this company recently. Threatened to charge me £280 because I didn't give them my ncb certificate. Once I did, they wanted to charge me £50 admin fee plus additional costs. A cancellation fee was over £100. Horrible horrible terms and conditions. Watch out!

I had to cancel my car insurance before it even started. Car will be off road for some time as couldn't afford the repair costs. Had to Basically pay £50 to cancel a policy which hadn't even started. Car will be off the road even longer now. My advice to anyone don't use this company. Cheap but not cheerful. Hundreds of bad reviews tells a story. Steer clear

1st Central failed to register my car as insured after I HAD ALREADY paid for insurance 2 days prior to the incident - as a result, I was pulled over and had my car confiscated by police until they found out it was insured all along - costing me £170 to get my car back and losing 3 days of work. This company has not even offered an apology. Cannot put into words how unhappy I am with the service. Pointless, incompetent company.

I am not happy with this service. The reason is because they requested to pay additional 242£ annual fee for holding EU license. finally when i received my UK license after approx 10 weeks since i use service they returned me only 24£ punds. The customer agent said that the reason is because they come up with that price in system :):) And they asked me to pay also 30£ fee for update. If calcualte that 242£ EU annually fee - 30£ update fee - 60£ used 10 weeks = must be 152£ refund not 24 just what come up in system:)))) That is simply funny

I have negative experience with this company. I will not write details why because i do not want attack from agents. But they are not honest customer service and they service is oriented to upgrade price for any reason. Example you pay annual fee and then sudeenly after 3 month pricing has changed and now you need pay additional fee of 250 or whanewer for policy price updates. Even if you add correct all details 100% they may upgrade price just saying market price has changed and there nothing to do
