Had a policy with this company recently. Threatened to charge me £280 because I didn't give them my ncb certificate. Once I did, they wanted to charge me £50 admin fee plus additional costs. A cancellation fee was over £100. Horrible horrible terms and conditions. Watch out!

I had to cancel my car insurance before it even started. Car will be off road for some time as couldn't afford the repair costs. Had to Basically pay £50 to cancel a policy which hadn't even started. Car will be off the road even longer now. My advice to anyone don't use this company. Cheap but not cheerful. Hundreds of bad reviews tells a story. Steer clear

1st Central failed to register my car as insured after I HAD ALREADY paid for insurance 2 days prior to the incident - as a result, I was pulled over and had my car confiscated by police until they found out it was insured all along - costing me £170 to get my car back and losing 3 days of work. This company has not even offered an apology. Cannot put into words how unhappy I am with the service. Pointless, incompetent company.

I am not happy with this service. The reason is because they requested to pay additional 242£ annual fee for holding EU license. finally when i received my UK license after approx 10 weeks since i use service they returned me only 24£ punds. The customer agent said that the reason is because they come up with that price in system :):) And they asked me to pay also 30£ fee for update. If calcualte that 242£ EU annually fee - 30£ update fee - 60£ used 10 weeks = must be 152£ refund not 24 just what come up in system:)))) That is simply funny

I have negative experience with this company. I will not write details why because i do not want attack from agents. But they are not honest customer service and they service is oriented to upgrade price for any reason. Example you pay annual fee and then sudeenly after 3 month pricing has changed and now you need pay additional fee of 250 or whanewer for policy price updates. Even if you add correct all details 100% they may upgrade price just saying market price has changed and there nothing to do

I foolishly insured my car on the day of its purchase. Rookie error but impulses purchases often make the best. So paid 480 fully comp thought expensive but like i say impulse. I have just had a renewal through bare bones policy 815 Please dont try to justify it in your mind with well different cover insurance is ever changing. Plesse do not believe such bs Insurance is for the wealthy paid for by the poor. Look where it started. Anyway digress Paid AXA 170 fully comp. Please please think They will charge you what they can get away with its called capitalism and its expensive. The rich get richer and the poorest ? Get more numerous. Peace to all stay away from these charlatans

I bought insurance from first central last year 2020 I had an accident which was not my fault now this year they have taken my 14 years no claim bonus down to 4 years then they charged me £12 because I changed something on my policy now they have put my insurance up by £100 because I have become unemployed this company are rip off merchants and now im geting the trading standards involved

I was with 1st central a couple of years ago. Having arrived back from abroad I had no no claims bonus and my credit rating was practically 0. I went on a comparison website and found these guys. The insurance was better than nearly all out there but still very high. After 2 weeks I was asked to provide more details from myself and my wife (partner at the time) They said certain documents weren't enough and my policy received a hike in price. Due to our circumstance we had to keep using them. Now two years on, against my wishes, my wife is with 1st central. A year has elapsed and she has had no issues, until now. She has been asked to prove my first entry to UK. Being a citizen of UK and another European country it's kind of hard to prove seeing as they don't do stamps in passports anymore. We are now waiting for 1st central to hike her policy price up. Keep.in mind it's 2 weeks after her policy has been renewed. I find it disgusting.

Made a mistake about no clams bonus I had 3 not which I believed 4 so unfortunately cost me an extra £30 This was on a price comparison web site as one of the cheapest insurance and my car is a £500 hundred pound car . because of my mistake the original price of my insurance went up £15 a month so from £30 it went to 45 a month oh this was all information that was asked for proof after the cooling off time so you can’t leave without being charged a huge amount I have monthly payment left I bought a new car thought I transfer over my insurance they want £80 to do this 1st central you are very cleaver and use the law to get ever penny out of you be very careful and check everything with this con artist

Really pleased to get a good price in April. However, I just bought a newer car and 'phoned them to advise and pay a reasonable extra amount, but their additional cost for my newer was ridiculous, almost double what I originally paid. Having got a much better price, I had to cancel my insurance with them. They charged me £100 to cancel...£50 cancellation charge (fair enough) plus £50 'arrangement' fee. Having looked at their website they state their cancellation fee is £50. Very unreasonable.

I told 1st central that I had changed address. We moved to a quiet rural location and all family members car insurance went down. I was told it would be £500 to change my address then I was told it was £700 then £90. When I went to pay the £90 I was told it’s gone up to £700 then the next time £250. Totally unacceptable to do this to people. I had to sell my car as I can’t afford the change of address fee. Rip off to say the least

Customer beware of this dodgy scammer company, they will change your life, they will rip you off, this company is sending wrong information to insurance database. this scammers have excluded computing from my policy after accepting renewal.

Be warned. 1st Central will rise their price at the end of transaction significantly and they will not respect cooling off period. I am not going to use them again and so should anybody.

If you want a good, fair insurance company with excellent customer service, then 1st CENTRAL is NOT it. They will find an excuse to add on extra charges and if they ever mention the Validation dept then you know you are going to be subjected to some extortionate charges because they will use the slightest change to the policy to use excessive charges... Cost me nearly £100 more for a few months difference on when passed driving test!!!

10 months in to policy, they suddenly want to review all details. We had to send photos of licences, as well as evidence my partner is eligible to work in this country (he's been here 7 years). Came back with claim that BOTH of our licences were entered by us 1 month wrong! Google shows its a common claim by them! Rip off merchants wanted an extra £106 with the final insurance instalment! Don't be fooled by the cheap quote!

I have tried to contact customer service to apply for green card and I can see its very difficult. I have got in contact with someone from customer service, they try to deal with my enquiry but at the end he hung up the line, after I tried again, this time he said to me to do online- I ask to guide me but couldn't help because couldn't find so, he asked me Google online to see how to apply. That's awful. Still haven't resolved my enquiry

Bad customer customer service and they like to add on extra charges AFTER you've committed to 12 months by paying in full. Better to go for the more recognised insurance companies with the better reputations..
