The Bunch of cheaters!!! They think they can do everything because they have all the money and power, just because they are big company does not allow them to do what ever they want to customers. They messed up and they investigated themself with outcome of no errors on their side, which doesn't surprise me at all. Do not choose this thieves ever!!!

I made an error hold my hands up i put 5 years no claim and it was a mistake it should of been 4 years. To pay £50 admin fee to make this change is criminal. I phoned up and wanted to cancel but the charge was over £90. I had to stay with 1st Central but not a happy customer at all, just stay clear if you can.

AVOID AT ALL COST Over charged, cancelled on me WITHOUT warning, only heard from DVLA that I was uninsured months later... When I called they wanted to "reinstate" the policy and charge me for the previous months I wasn't insured for... Had absolutely no recollection of previous issues where they charged my payment early and fixed it. Never give them a penny.

This company are a joke!! Charge £50 to cancel within 12 hours of purchase despite advertising in bold writing “free to cancel within 14 days” on the comparison site!!! Rude staff, still waiting for call back regarding complaint!!

They tell you that you have good prospects of succeeding. Then they accidently click the wrong button (it happens) and admit liability. It takes them two months to discover the error, and then a further three months of hiding it before they tell your solicitor. They never tell you as the client, leave it for you to piece together from the letters from the paralegal handling the claim. When you contact them to complain they suddenly decide that, there were not any prospects anyway (very convienient). This on top of an absolute farce getting a courtesy car because they mis-sold the policy in the first place. Will be taking the matter up with the ombudsman. Also, avoid their in-house lawyers. You are not the client (in breach of SRA rules), the insurer is the client. You get given an incompetent, legally unqualified, case handler who does not take instructions from you, only from the insurer.

Like many others, they waited until after the cancellation period to charge £96 (25%) more. Requested many unusual documents and fabricated a reason. I called up and they agreed to waive their £50 admin fee, so generous considering they're trying to fleece me...

When my insurance started after 2 months they asked for many unusual documents. They have asked me to provide pictures of my driving license, proof of NCD , Unique DVLA check code and Proof of the date of starting living in the UK . If I knew that they were so complicated and time-consuming, I would have never bought the insurance from them .One of them was the proof of starting living in the UK . It was more than 3 years ago and it was difficult to find a paper from that time or provide it. I wanted to cancel the insurance but they wanted to charge me £130 just for cancelation. I provided all the documents but they did not accept the letter from my college about the date of starting living in the UK so I asked them to extend the deadline but they did not accept . It really is the worst insurance company I have seen. Avoid this company . I spoke to the customer service and I realised they are rude and unhelpful. They wasted my time . Many hours of my time. AVOID THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE THE WORST INSURANCE COMPANY.

I spoke to a member of staff on 1st Central chat to resolve an issue with my online account, and to update the address on my car insurance policy. Was eventually connected to an extremely rude and unhelpful person who was unable to say anything polite or make any sense of my query. He told me I was wrong, reason being "I should know - I work here"! Eventually got it sorted myself and paid £25 for the privilege. I have been a customer for many years but will be letting this policy expire, for good.

Their grift is to offer low quotes, then mine your information for ANY small discrepancies, and hit you with a large fee for updating the policy. After you buy the policy they will request that you upload your driving licence, a DVLA check code, and proof of No Claims. They used the date originally given for passing my driving test 30 years ago being a few days out, to justify adding an additional £96 to the original quote. Steer well clear. Other quotes might be a little more on the face of it, but you will end up paying much more in the long run if you go with 1st Central.

After a few months with them, they have asked me to provide pictures of my driving license, proof of NCD , Unique DVLA check code and to contact the Policy Analysis Team. If I knew that they were so complicated and time-consuming, I would have never bought the insurance from them.

AVOID! Took out car insurance with this company through go compare as they were the cheapest. 2 weeks after my policy started, I was sent a letter and email asking for 5 different documents to be provided. Never had this before with any insurer. Emailed these over and was still harassed by chaser emails and letters every other day threatening to cancel my policy and charge me a fee if not provided, even though I had already provided them. The phone lines are only open 9-5 and it was then the bank holiday so phoned on Tuesday when they reopened to be told they had issues opening some of the files - no one would have told me this if if I hadn’t phoned. They wouldn’t accept my proof of NCD from my previous provider as it wasn’t a letter, it was electronic as this is how previous insurer provided it. Had an issue providing one of the files in the right format for a named driver, asked them to just take named driver off policy, was told my policy was now locked so they can’t and I would have to just wait til the deadline and have my policy cancelled and pay cancellation fee. Ended up cancelling it myself to get away from this terrible company and having to pay £98 cancellation fee, wish I had stayed with Hastings as would have been cheaper in the long run Avoid this company - will try and charge you for anything they can and harass you for unnecessary documents - they are cheap for a reason

Worst insurance company I have used in 20 years. Price increased after the 1st month and then waited 8 weeks before requesting more information otherwise would cancel insurance. Avoid this company

The company charged an excessive >£100 to cancel my policy (£50 cancellation fee and a £50 non-refundable administration fee to set up the policy in the first place). This charge was not told to me when I renewed; had to renew via phone as changed card details and no mention of this charge at the time). Company did nothing to rectify this mistake. Very poor customer service. Charging to set up a policy (when I was a renewal customer) is shocking and these costs need to be made clearer. Do not use this company, daylight robbery and unhelpful service

Had 1 month left to run on my policy which was £22 left to pay .But got a new car and cheaper quote elsewhere So I asked to cancel my policy only to be told I now owe £50 cancellation fee.then was put over a barrel when asked to just leave it to run and don't renew it to be told you can't do that now and I have to pay the £50. CRAZY won't be using this company again

Had an accident at fault, I was first told my claim will be settled in 3-5 working days, which delayed to 2 months and still my claim hasn’t been settled down. I’ve asked many times the time it will take so at least I could arrange for some car and yet they are still dragging it for some reason.

I have changed my car 3 times not once has my policy changed gone to a smaller car older car policy stays same and administration fee is a scandal total joke roll on October I am out of here one word avoid
