Been chasing me for money I do not owe them for over a year for an old policy which was their mistake.. Spoke to customer services who said it was their mistake and would rectify problem. It even says it was resolved on my customer portal. Still I am getting threatening texts from them saying they are trying to contact me and that I have not responded to their letters. I have never received a letter from them. I call them go through the same explanation to be told customer services are still looking into it and that they will call me back in 5 days. They never call back then 2 months later I will receive another text message saying to call them urgently about said money I don't owe! Completely incompetent do not really care and never ever apologise for their mistakes. My husband also has had problems, god forbid if you ever have to make a claim with these people, they will always fold and never fight your corner. My husband was hit from the side by someone swerving into his lane, blatantly the other drivers fault they went 50/50 liability. Unbelievable. This took nearly a year to resolve too. You have to do all the chasing they will never keep you in the loop. I could go on but I have neither the time or the energy. NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY! BEWARE!

I ask them for a NCD letter, they should provide me one in 5 days from that date...instead they reply to my after two weeks and inform me that I don't have NCD because I do have a claim....which is not true and about nobody inform me before (supposing I have a claim I should now about that). Avoid them...

Paying £50 to change my address on my policy is disgraceful . Don't think be renewing next year .

The very worst company i have ever dealt with period. Went with 1st central as it was the cheapest quote, stupid mistake. Never ever do business with this company. After hours and hours on the phone trying to sort out a supposed error on the application form. I ended up being charged £50 for changing my WIFES title from Mr to Mrs! Not my mistake. After several trips to the bank to get an approved letter that my wife has been in the uk since she said she had been they decided that another £50 was needed to amend the insurance documents?????? And then decide that because she had been here since 2009 which was stated in the original application that she needed to pay another £185 on top for a £700 policy, for what.... being a dirty immigrant, bunch of rascist scammers. Decided i had had enough and cancelled the policy only to be told i owed another £75, not the quoted £50 on the website for cancelling the policy. Do yourself a massive favour and stay far far away from this utter disgrace of a company! How the hell are they still trading???????

Very cheap car insurance, probably the cheapest. You wonder why there the cheapest? because they offer rubbish service and things like breakdown cover will be the bare minimum. spend the extra and go with someone like hastings.

This company is awful and I regret ever taking out a policy with them!!! I purchased car insurance with this company with a montly direct debit plan from my mother's bank account, unfortunately we fell out and she cancelled the direct debit on the 1st of the month (payments due on 21st every month). I have just found out that they apparently sent me 1 letter and 1 email asking me to put a new direct debit in place or they will cancel my policy (I didn't receive either). The payments were set to be taken on the 21st of every month and I hadn't defaulted at all but the apparent "email/letter" said that I had until the 15th or they would cancel my insurance!!! I was completely unaware until I was stopped by the bright blue lights!!! My vehicle has been seized and I am now going to be receiving 6 penalty points and a fine!!! When I rang this dreadful company to get answers they just laughed at me and said that they had sent me 1 letter and 1 email so it was my own fault and they weren't going to do anything about it... they have now told me that i owe £57 for cancellation fees but when I questioned that I had actually previously paid successful on the 21st of the previous month so surely I had paid until the 21st of this month then how could they possibly cancel it a week before the next payment was due and before even attempting to take any payment or make any further contact and they literally just hung up on me 3 times!!! I am now left with debt, licence points and a fine without actuallly defaulting payment or really doing anything wrong!!! I am furious and seriously would NOT even recommend this company to my worst enemy :@

Seriously infuriated with myself for going for the cheaper alternative and booking this company. They will pinch every single penny out of you people! save yourself the hassle, time and money and DO NOT INSURE WITH THEM!

They have taken £175 without informing me instead of £40 although I have an email of my agreed payments on my new car they still won't give me a full refund. Worst insurance iv had. I had to ring three times to even get an answer. They said someone would ring me in five working days we are now day 10. No apologies and they still owe me £40 which there refusing to give me back. I'm obviously taking this further.

Bunch of robbers. As with most companies, everything is great when you signup - the problems start when you need to make a claim, or if you need to cancel your policy - it's then that the hidden charges and obstacles appear. 1st central are probably one of the worst companies I've ever had to deal with, it clearly states on their website that it's £50 to cancel your policy - however when you actually go ahead and do it - it costs closer to £150, with the standard retort being - it's in the T/Cs, of course the misleading FAQ and website says it's simply £50. Their customer service people are pretty awful too - I wish I'd stayed with direct line, far clearer - no hidden fees or charges.

Horrible experience I have with them I touched the other car and inform 1st central that is the biggest mistake of my life no body make claim against me but they put against me fault claim with out telling me I found yesterday after 2 years that 1st central declare I had an accident at my fault in 2015.An unfortunate incident that happens unexpectedly and unintentionally, typically resulting in damage or injury is called accident they not even know the meaning of accident

Shocking excuse for an insurance company. Steer well clear of these cowboys. Recently had a claim made against me for an accident over 100 miles away from my home and place of work. Settled against me making no attempt to help me. Would not take statements from my employer or several colleagues saying that I was at work all day with my car parked in work yard. They told me not admissible as they know me!! not quite sure how your supposed to prove your at work then!!! Asked for advise and help on how to deal with it and they refused. and I'm supposed to be their client.

I got involved in a car accident last september. I denied liability and the other party denied liability. I was determined to fight for the liability, as I was confident I could prove the other party liability if it went to court or I could get a forensic accident examiner involved. Unfortunately 1st Central didnt seem to care. 1st Central gave up fairly quickly and admitted 50/50 liability. I then offered to bring in and pay for a forensic accident examiner out of my own funds but I needed some information from the third party insurers such as the written statement of the driver and various photos. 1st central didnt bother to get me this information from the third party insurers and I was forced to drop the matter. What a useless insurance company, Im doing all the work and taking the risk to pay from own funds to resolve the liability issue, but instead of helping me they were very unhelpful. I would never even dream of using them again even if they were the cheapest. They are too quick to admit liability and dont want to even consider fighting your corner even if you want to do the legwork yourself and absorb the costs.

Customer service is a joke and they started my renewal without me saying anything to go ahead with it. Then wouldn't give me a price of my new insurance until my old one ran out so then I couldn't drive my car that day. Can't speak to supervisor cause they don't talk what a joke of a mob

I`ve called to renew my policy as was not happy with renewal price. I spoke with customer service few days before policy was due to renew, We agreed on price and renewal. 2 weeks later I`ve discovered I`m not insured for 10days. They refused to fix their mistake. They asked me to start all over again !! Thanks for having lovely holiday !!! :[ RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE TOO !

Stay away, Not recommend to anyone. I had road accident on the 30 May 2016 and I made personal injuries claim via 1st Central Law. All process took so long. As soon as defendants insurers admit fault it was difficult to contact them. The so-called customer services is useless. Promised return phone call not received. No manager was available to talk to me. To get payment from 1st Central Law I made 100 phone calls asking for an explanation. In the meantime they sent my cheque to another address, which I never gave them. Lies, promises without coverage, ignorance. I got compensation in june 2017, over one year.They are trading your money with compensation.
