Worst insurance co I have ever dealt with, been chasing my excess for 5 months from an accident that wasn't my fault, they won't even tell me the 3rd party details insurance so I can take it to court myself , disgusting customer service and no effort to actually help the customers so now I will personally sue the other driver and Hastings and 1st central through small claims court, not interested in helping you at all, stay well clear

Very poor. I was hit by another driver and had to pay my excess to get my car repaired (despite not being at fault). Over 14months later and i still haven’t received this money. Today I have been informed this is was “my” excess so I have to claim it from the other drivers insurance, and 1st central have closed my case. I only found this out after pestering for it it to be returned for over a year. In addition the hire vehicle I was given cost me £50 in ridiculous insurance waivers which I cannot claim back. Very unhelpful company who made the experience of being in an accident, a very difficult and unnecessarily costly experience.

Absolutely appalling company with limited customer support. Ridiculous cancellation fees and for this reason should be avoided.

I cannot and will not recommend this company to anyone, they have the customer service skills of a baboon! any slight change and they will charge £30, no leeway take it or leave it thats their attitude. A change of vehicle with eleven days of policy left before renewal = £30 change of reg number 5 days before renewal = £30!! renewal price 150% of previous years policy cost, 4 years no claims and 4 years business with them and not one iota of goodwill from them, avoid this company completely or you will regret it

Absolutely shocking service they have tripled by monthly direct debit for moving 5 mins up the road! And want to charge me a unbelievable amount of money for cancellation fee! This is the most shocking company I have ever dealt with! There agents on the phone could not care less and are very uniterested and rude. Do not go with this company if you do not like being ripped of!

Purchase my car insurance as time to renewel, got qutation online from 1st central 687.13 and and paid on card and i checked on my statement they took 700.87 pound and when i spoke to customer service named jhon, he took my details and put me on hold for 10,15 minut the back on phone for 5 seconds the again put me on hold 10, 15 minuts the he came back and told me that i been charged extra because i paid on credit card, i told him when i was paying i checked there was nothing mention like that i been charged extra if i pay on credit card.i been burchasing things online for so long but anyway.i requested him to put that money back into my credit card and i'll pay on debit card. He told he cant do this, he said i can cencel ur insurance but get new one but prize would be different from this. In short i pay extra for my car insurance and am gonna pay for my mobile bill, whats the point getting that aparently cheap insurance if its come to higher price.i could get better. I still have 10 days to start my insurance but am worried they maybe harass me for leaving a bad feedback or they may cancel my insurance for no reason or make it more higher

Shocking customer service ripped me off big time! I had b accident that was not my fault 2years ago declared this with them and have actually been insured with them for 3years now! I had. Accident which was my fault no one else involved and they say I didn't disclose the accident which I did they even told me the date of the accident when I renewed with them so then said we will have to add this your policy so then charged me another £500,avoid this company my next step will be to get the ombudsman involved do not insure with this joke of a company car wrote off and now no payout

I was charged £150 for a change of address which actually only takes seconds to do, it wasn't clearly stated that this was for a change of address but the wording sort of made it sound like you were paying your final premium all in one. It cost me 35% of my original policy for them to just press a button. Completely outrageous. Will never use or recommend them to anyone.

Ripped of by 1st Central I am absolutely furious with this company and I have been with them for 2 years. I will not renew with them and will never take out any sort of insurance policy with them again! They sent me through an automatic renewal which had increased in price so at that point I went through confused.com as a search comparison and again 1st central came up as the best deal. I renewed with them through this site. I have just received demands for further payment stating that I did not disclose an accident from 2014. I have gone back through my quote on the search comparison site and it clearly shows that I did. Unfortunately I stated that it was in March rather than October of 2014 and for this reason I now owe them a further £110 or £50 cancellation fee! Not only that but I have been kept on hold for over 40 mind and passed around from pillar to post on the phone. I think this is an absolutely disgraceful way of treating a customer and I would warn anyone who goes with this insurer to be very wary and precise with all the information they give as 1st central will try and use it as a way to extort more money from you! Very disappointed and upset!!!!

Worse company ever. Over charged me for my insurance for over a year !!! Money grabbing company’s. won’t refund my money. Everytime i ring up they leave me on hold. Left me on hold for 30 mind everytime I call costing me a 120 pound phone call and plus owing Over a years full insurance to me. I really wouldn’t recommend this company. They are terrible !!!

This company is awful and I regret ever taking out a policy with them!!! I purchased car insurance with this company with a montly direct debit plan from my mother's bank account, unfortunately we fell out and she cancelled the direct debit on the 1st of the month (payments due on 21st every month). I have just found out that they apparently sent me 1 letter and 1 email asking me to put a new direct debit in place or they will cancel my policy (I didn't receive either). The payments were set to be taken on the 21st of every month and I hadn't defaulted at all but the apparent "email/letter" said that I had until the 15th or they would cancel my insurance!!! I was completely unaware until I was stopped by the bright blue lights!!! My vehicle has been seized and I am now going to be receiving 6 penalty points and a fine!!! When I rang this dreadful company to get answers they just laughed at me and said that they had sent me 1 letter and 1 email so it was my own fault and they weren't going to do anything about it... they have now told me that i owe £57 for cancellation fees but when I questioned that I had actually previously paid successful on the 21st of the previous month so surely I had paid until the 21st of this month then how could they possibly cancel it a week before the next payment was due and before even attempting to take any payment or make any further contact and they literally just hung up on me 3 times!!! I am now left with debt, licence points and a fine without actuallly defaulting payment or really doing anything wrong!!! I am furious and seriously would NOT even recommend this company to my worst enemy :@

very poor at customer interface... never answers emails ... 10 to 20 minutes delays in aswering phone calls very poor overall only good thing is that they are the cheapest (well in my case)

Changed me address on my account to find out they where going to charge me £157.my old address is 2 mins from my new 1. Absolutely crazy to think anyone would pay that to change ur address. After 45 mins trying to get through on the phone. Was told it all works on your post code what a joke. Been we them 6 years and have changed address twice before at no extra cost

cancelled policy after 5 days as car was faulty and returned it, still waiting for my refund, too date over 2 months now, owe me over £500. on phone holding for 4 hours a time. they NEVER ring you back as promised. would never recommend them to worst enemy, rather pay £50 more with decent well known insurers. disgusting treatment all round, lord knows how they deal with a claim.

Yes they are cheaper than the rest, but I guess you really do get what you pay for. Been without car insurance for a week now, still trying to resolve a payment issue because after I changed the direct debit payment date the previous month they then applied for payment on the wrong date the following month, they won't accept fault, even trying to charge me an extra £30 default charge and after nearly an hour of being transferred and on hold to rectify the problem, they hang up twice! and they didn't even apologise. Still not resolved, still no apology. I either buckle and pay the default charge for their mistake or go elsewhere and then will have to pay a cancellation fee! They care only for money not their customers. Terrible service.
