The worse company in UK. They not listen customers they don't care even if give them the proof they don't care and charge you for everything. They change policy without proper check claim history. They see only computer system, I ask them call to my previous insurer and ask about my claim which was settled non-fault. They ignore that and raise my policy price. Never again this company. If you have to much money to spent go to them you loose most of them quick.

Treated disgustingly. They admitted their computer system went wrong and that I was still covered, however when I went to renew they said I wasn’t covered for the last year!!! I rang three times to check throughout the year and wasn’t told anything. They also managed to lose half of my no claims which is now effecting my new insurance through a new company! Never insure with this company, very incapable.

Just sent me an email through saying I owe more money just called to see what the issue is offices are closed and the problem on the email appears irrelevent as I have already paid in full over a month ago. I do not appreaciate this issue waisting my valuable and limited time or the email saying I have 7 days to pay the extra. For customer service this is surley a 0/10 and I wish I had booked with another insurer and will not be renewing next year, if I even stay this year which will depend soley on how this matter is resloved.

I am in complete agreement with the other frequent negative reviewers for 1st Central. While they were my cheapest option on the price comparison websites, I quickly found out why. They offer no support in the event of a potential claim and aren’t proactive with investigations. At every stage of my claim I was calling 1st Central for updates, not the other way around. They would go weeks on end without progressing investigations, despite constant chasing. It took so long for them to get their act together, by the time we potentially had a case I was told the matter had been outstanding too long and there was no longer enough evidence because CCTV footage of the incident couldn’t be obtained - leaving me to either make a claim (and pay £250 excess and lose my NCB for an incident where I was clearly not at fault) or walk away and deal with it myself. They are unhelpful, unprofessional and are set up to help themselves - not their customers. They might be the cheapest option when reviewing comparison websites but do yourself a favour and look for a more reputable company.

My first direct debit failed as I didn't have the money to cover it. I thought I had changed the date so it fell after my pay date but I was mistaken. As a result a £30 default fee was added. A direct debit failing is not a default. A default is if a payment is not made. I phoned to pay the next day and was told the £30 default charge stands. When I asked for a breakdown of the £30 default charge you were unable to provide this. I see no reasonable way that a direct debit failing could cost you £30 therefore the £30 is not a charge but a fine. A fine is a punishment and as a corporation you have no right to punish me especially for a misunderstanding. You effectively tried to extort me. I spent over an hour on the phone and tried to end my business with you, only to be told you would charge me a lot more to leave you (extortion again) What you do may or may not be legal but it is not morally right and not a way to treat your customers. I won't be returning and will be sharing my experience on social media. In the end the £30 was cancelled but only after speaking to 3 people. What a dispicable company you are! :-(

If you believe there is the potential you may change address during the term of your policy, I would strongly advise that you DO NOT opt to use 1st Central for car insurance. I took out a comprehensive car insurance policy with 1st Central Insurance in March 2018, for a price of around £750. This week I have moved into a new flat and therefore went to change my address online, expecting to have to pay an administration fee anywhere up to £50. Instead I was informed it was cost me £809 simply to change my address, more than the price of my original policy! I rang up customer services as I didn't think this could be possible, only to be informed my postcode was a greater risk, so this was the correct price. I was informed that as I had submitted the change online, I had to pay £809 by the 16th May or my policy will be cancelled for me at cost to myself. I have had to accept a partial refund to cancel my policy immediately as I cannot accept being made to pay such an extortionate amount of money for a simple administrative change. I could have accepted having to pay more than an administration fee due to the property (with a private car park) being at an apparent higher insurance risk, but £809 is a disgraceful amount to demand and I have come out of this at a significant financial deficit. I have since switched to Admiral who provided me with a quote for a year's comprehensive insurance which is less than the amount 1st Central wanted me to pay for a change of address!

DO NOT TAKE CAR INSURANCE OUT WITH THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF! THEY TAKE MORE MONEY OUT OF YOUR ACCOUNT THAN WHAT YOU WERE QUOTED AND THEN WON’T REFUND YOU THE DIFFERENCE OR THE FULL AMOUNT IF YOU TRY TO CANCEL.

Want full copy of V5 even tho only just bought the car. They give you less than 28 days to supply or there is a caharge of £75 because they will cancel your policy despite already paying the deposit plus the next months payment yet the DVLA say it takes 4-6 weeks to come threw the post Which is something we have no control over and this is NOT mentioned when you take out the policy

Absolute rip off artists. DO NOT USE FIRST CENTRAL. - Cost more than my renewal from previous insurer but thought what the hell as I needed to insure my car quickly and I could do it online to be insured immediately and my insurer didn't open until 9am. - The proceeded to put my policy up £100's for little known reason - Asked for a load of proof, like driving licence, DVLA code, Proof of no claims etc. which was inconvenient but also received many threatening emails and letters saying they would cancel my policy. Chillax, it was doing it! - Tried to change my occupation - wanted to charge me almost £90!!! - Cancelled as they are a bunch of charlatans, and cost me £80!!! DO NOT USE and GOD HELP YOU IF YOU HAVE AN ACCIDENT.
