“When i did my search on internet for 2nd hand spares from car breakers 247spares came up as being able to search hundreds of car breakers yards. I was looking for a cheap healdamp from a car beakers and all i got from 247 spares were quotes for brand new headlamps at twice the price of what i could buy on ebay so not impressed at all.”

“Every quote that came back was very expensive compared to other dealers, all the telephone numbers apart from 1 were premium rate which would mean even more expense, will not be using the service again!”

“I registered with 247Spares looking for replacement headlights for my Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo. All of the telephone numbers that came up are mobile phones-not a good start. I deliberately put a wrong telephone number as my home phone so that people couldn't contact me yet I am bombarded with emails from people offering spares. I will not deal with people/companies that only have a mobile as a contact number -the parts could be stolen-and there are no addresses for these "companies" so that I could check them out. i do not recommend that anybody deals with firms offering parts with only a mobile phone number and no address. I will not be dealing with 247Spares again.”

“We received approximately 10 of the same emails from you, which was most annoying. We called the dealer and were able to get a price within a few minutes, but the continous bombardment of emails that followed has put us off using your service again. There is no way to unsubscribe, email......”

“Made a request at 6.30pm for an ABS pump for Citroen C5. One immediate quote (expensive for second-hand item). Four other quotes early following morning, two of which gave no price just a request to ring with part number. This I did and both suppliers found that they had no stock but could order new if I wanted (at £50 more than I could obtain locally). Of the other two, one was very expensive for second-hand item and the other was even more expensive but for a reconditioned unit. Understand the time delay in quoting due to the time I requested a quote but to suggest they had stock when they patently did not I find frustrating. Overall not a good experience.”

“The quotes came back quickly and more than I expected for something I was told is very rare! Unfortunately none of them had any info as to the standard (for a gearbox I expect to have the reg. number that it came from and the number of miles it had done). One phone quote kept me hanging on then hung up when I tried to ask for that info! Suspicious. Will be wary of using it again.”

“I rang 2 numbers the first was advertized at £35 I left 2 messages for them to ring me back and they never did. The second one I got through the second time and they didn't have the part they advertized so I ended up buying a new one not happy many thanks Dave”

“Needed an engine and the response was quick but when i ordered one it took 3 weeks to get delivered including lots of promises to deliver earlier and when the engine arrived its estimated by the garage to have done at least twice as many miles as the one they quoted for. Time will tell whether its actually any good I'm glad i bought it with my credit card!! For just over another couple of hundred quid i could have got a recon and delivered in 3 days!!”

“I was confused over the replies that I got, they all said "used in 120 days" I had no idea what this meant and assumed they where all used motors so I didn't bother with them. I was pleased with the amount of replies I had but that was of no use to me when I didn't understand them, maybe suppliers should remember that females have no idea what they are buying, just what they have been told to get!”

“I contacted a company through this website on what I thought was a mobile number, however I was wrong and ending up being charged £8 for the call. I raised a complaint on 247 Spares website which they then passed on to the company I received my item from (and the complaint was directed at 247 Spares not the other company), I was then informed by the other company that they provide 247 Spares with a landline number to be supplied to customers, this was not the number provided to me though. I then tried to phone 247 Spares, however there was no answer and not even a company voicemail. I would not use this company again!”

“The simple problem is that the wrong part has been sent. The dsignation on the motor now that we have it off is SX0FR but the corresponding designation on the part sent is SX30R.”

“Good - found a few suppliers so I had a choice. Bad - All to expensive. The item I wanted can be bought new for sub £!00 from main dealer but second hand/used with just 30 day warranty cost £60 min to £72 max. O.k. this included £10 delivery but still far too much. Imagine if it failed after say two months ! I'd be paying more than new price with still very limited warranty. O.k. if selling vehicle but not if keeping.”

“The prices expected for second hand parts was little short of scandalous. I was able to buy the part I needed, delivered to my door for considerably less than the base price, excluding VAT before delivery (plus VAT) was added on. I will have to be really desparate to use this service in the future.”

“Prompt response and prices good however warnings all over forums about huge costs of 070 phone number and delays in speaking to anyone or possibility of being asked to call back again later at further expense. This completely put me off considering to purchase a part i really needed from this site. They need to be much more open about costs to be incurred.”

“I would infinitely prefer to have been put in touch with suppliers directly via either the business name, their actual phone number or email as I find it a pointless waste of time ringing premium rate phone numbers from abroad to obtain a spare part. I didn't use the service because of this fact even though 2 of the quotes were acceptable. What was an acceptable quote with be increased dramatically using a premium rate number to contact a supplier negating the point of trying! I would have used the system repeatedly had this not been the case, but given we live in a world of greed the supplier loses a sale!”
