“Generally speaking the service was not too bad, however, since finally getting a chance to ride the bike I’ve noticed that the derailleurs are not adjusted properly (first ride) and are constantly catching on the chain and changing gears is not as seamless as it should be, which is seriously frustrating because I feel I shouldn’t be riding the bike as I reckon it would be causing excessive wear/damage on the derailleurs and chain, therefore making the 6 week service redundant because they want everything to settle in.”
“Not really impressed. I ordered online and the prices were all higher than in the store I collected the order from! The guy there gave me a cereal bar, but didn't cover the cost difference for me between the cheaper store prices and much higher online prices I was charged. Disappointing.”
“Transaction was good. This was my first time buying a pushbike, and it was probably my own naivity, but I thought the bike would come with things like bell, light, kickstand etc.”
“Simple order, 2 tyres and take half day for shop to prepare and still not ready when I got there. And sales person asked me whether I received the sms say item is ready yet? Omg”
“99Bikes still use Australia Post for deliveries. As many of you know, Aust Post rarely deliver a package so therefore I had to go to the post office to pick the part up. It cost me $10 to do something I could have picked up from the store for free. 99Bikes - please use another courier for your deliveries.”
“Mechanic used oil based lubricant on the chain. Chain was lubed with wax lubricant so chain had to be odegreased and re-lubed as they are not compatible.”
“Quite good but had to return one of the products as was chosen because of vague information re the item. Item was unsuitable so needed to be returned for refund. Still awaiting refund and also had to wait some time for order to arrive.”
“Would be happy to give a review, but have not yet received my order. *Update* Received my order the day after leaving the previous review. Thanks to 99 Bikes for following up with the transport company. It seems that my order was stuck with the transport company at their depot in Perth. Happy with the outstanding service and will definitely buy more stuff through 99 Bikes,”
“I purchased a larger size to accommodate my wide foot. The cleat attachment travel is insufficient to allow correct positioning of my foot over the pedal axle. Very few bike shoe manufacturers properly cater for wide fittings.?”
“Ordered a wheel that was clearly described as being an 'AlexRims' wheel. Received a wheel made by 'Jalco'. Not only that, the wheel still had the tag from a different online shop attached, showing a price about half what I had paid. I recommend avoiding these guys unless you are desperate or cannot get what you need elsewhere.”
“The product I bought online a Yakima Fold Click 3 is something that really should be purchased in store, so they can show you how to fit it. It has been quite difficult for us to figure out the correct way to fit it. I live about 4hrs from my nearest 99bikes store so this was diffcult for me but is in no way a reflection of the service i received from 99 Bikes. They were excellent.”
“I am disappointed that 99 Bikes wants you to pay them for a membership just to get access to their best pricing. If you can give a discount, you should be giving it without making customers jump through hoops or charging them an extra fee.”
“I bought a Pedal bike, the service was good but the bike seat was tilted upwards a bit, making my first ride exactly a pain in the ass. I managed to adjust the seat myself with a wrench.”
