“99Bikes still use Australia Post for deliveries. As many of you know, Aust Post rarely deliver a package so therefore I had to go to the post office to pick the part up. It cost me $10 to do something I could have picked up from the store for free. 99Bikes - please use another courier for your deliveries.”
“Store seemed to lack staff..tried a helmet on for size and then left and bought it online.online works well helmet then delivered. Would have liked to just have bought it when I was there but no one available to help out”
“Staff were friendly and helpful my only issue is the bike wasn't tightened correctly, the handle bars came loose, the rear axle came loose, and after a few weeks the bike is making a weird noise when I ride it, will be taking it back for a tune up, other than that I love the bike.”
“Not really impressed. I ordered online and the prices were all higher than in the store I collected the order from! The guy there gave me a cereal bar, but didn't cover the cost difference for me between the cheaper store prices and much higher online prices I was charged. Disappointing.”
“Transaction was fast and delivery was on time. The bike is nice and sturdy. Quality wise it fits the price. The only issue I have is that I can’t fold the folding bike that I bought. I have tried so many times and take note I follow the procedure but it’s just too hard.”
“Ordered a wheel that was clearly described as being an 'AlexRims' wheel. Received a wheel made by 'Jalco'. Not only that, the wheel still had the tag from a different online shop attached, showing a price about half what I had paid. I recommend avoiding these guys unless you are desperate or cannot get what you need elsewhere.”
“A great store it's not just a place where you find what you need and good prices. A great store it's the one who listens to you and propose you different products which suits your needs. My last 3 visits to 99 bike in Stanmore and Parramatta they were not great. After to collect a couple of new bikes, and looking after different tools and accessories they just offered me the most expensive always (and not necessarily the best option for me) I had to ask several time to recognise my member status to get the right prices and felt pushed to take my decision. It's seems the priority in 99bikes is the upselling and not the customers.”
“I understand the lock down is hard on everyone and that the click and collect is new to some. I ordered a trainer and a matt and was notified pretty quick that it is ready to be collected which I was extremely happy with. The issue came when I arrived at the store, the number on the door did not work so myself and another customer waited at the door. People behind the counter saw us but did not come to the door to assist. Another person from inside walked up to the door and opened it to let a colleague out and did not make any effort or contact to ask if he could help us. After 20min I decided to call the number I received the text from and the gentleman was very friendly and immediately came to the door with my purchased goods.”
“I always have fun visiting 99 bikes Lidcombe, except lately after Covid, some staff are new and not very helpful. Seems like they don’t want people coming to the shop. Maybe because of Covid cases out there.”
“Sales process was efficient and detailed information was provided on the different models available within my budget - good sales experience. The only negative was that the derailleurs were adjusted prior to leaving the shop, but upon the first ride, they were significantly out of adjustment. Whilst it is not a major issue for me as I can adjust the cable tension, other customers may not be as capable. I recommend more time & care is taken in ensuring the bike is ready for trouble-free riding upon sale.”
“I purchased the Jetblack S1 Sports Trainer online in the middle of a lockdown so I was happy to receive anything at all. It arrived when promised, after five or six days. It is easy to set up and operate. It takes about five minutes to swap over from one bike to another because of the need to replace the quick-release mechanism. I found it acceptably quiet although I use it outside not inside. Only limitation was an inability to connect to my phone. It seems I need a sensor of some description. To get around that problem I attached an old-fashioned speedometer to the rear wheel. This is adequate if one bike remains in the stand. Otherwise, it is difficult to calibrate the correct resistance. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase.”
“The order took longer than expected. I had to follow up with a call to ask for progress. Then I was informed it was ready to be picked up. How come no one called me earlier?”
“I bought a Pedal bike, the service was good but the bike seat was tilted upwards a bit, making my first ride exactly a pain in the ass. I managed to adjust the seat myself with a wrench.”
“Happy with my phone holder, but do need to exchange my shorts. As the fit is tight. This will need to be done at the end of lock down. Which is understandable. ?”
“I liked they had the product in stock. I disliked that I could not see it in use as no display stock. Also disliked it was advertised for $60 less the week prior and they were not willing to negotiate. Their delivery service and time was excellent.”
“The product I bought online a Yakima Fold Click 3 is something that really should be purchased in store, so they can show you how to fit it. It has been quite difficult for us to figure out the correct way to fit it. I live about 4hrs from my nearest 99bikes store so this was diffcult for me but is in no way a reflection of the service i received from 99 Bikes. They were excellent.”
