Great service, very cheap compared to other mobile network providers. No contract means there’s no catch, you can leave or change your plan whenever you want. Overall a very satisfied customer. My whole family now use giffgaff because they reward you by giving you free calls and texts to other giffgaff users, for 3 months after your monthly contract has run out! Very happy overall and highly recommend.

Used giffgaff for travelling in UK, France and Spain. Ordered SIM card before the trip which arrived quickly at my home in Canada. Activated card before we flew to Gatwick and phone was active when we landed. Worked great for the entire trip. Bought 20£ goody bag which gave me 40GB Data. Ran maps almost constantly and tethered two phones and iPad. Didn’t even use 10GB over the 23 day trip. Will definitely use Giffgaff again!

Quite shocked so many have had a bad experience with refurbished phones, i bought a Iphone 11 in excellent condition and it arrived a day later with not a single mark on it...battery is 88% health and so far has gone down 2% from 100% after 90 mins, my old Iphone 8 would lose around 20% in a hour maybe even more. Only thing that annoyed me was the fact it turned up with a standard usb charger and not the proper Apple fast charger or whatever they're called and didn't come with a plug but for the price i paid i could replace the battery 2+ times and buy a new charger and plug and still be no where near the price of the Iphone 11 new. Seems it depends on your luck then maybe i just got extremely lucky as i like i say my red Iphone 11 hasn't got a single thing wrong with it and you could even argue its not been used...if the battery health couldn't be checked i would assume this is a brand new phone that's how good of condition its in and its saved me over £150. Would use them again, lets say i did receive it and it wasn't this good i would just send it back for a replacement until i was happy.

A mixed bag. Network performance is good (working on O2's platform), and goodybags (monthly bundles of calls, texts and data) are attractively priced and flexible. However, things have taken a downward turn recently. There is no call centre; the first port of call when experiencing problems is to email the 'community', which consists of fellow giffgaff members. They do a valiant job, to be fair, and respond very promptly, but they can't deal with account related issues, so these have to be directed towards their employed agents. This is where the fun starts. The agents' performance is hopeless; you'd better hope you only have to deal with one, as they don't appear to talk to each other; they have difficulty in reading and comprehending clear messages; and woe betide you if you experience any problems which aren't covered by their scripted responses. Their payment system crashes, leaving members unable to make not only purchases of phones, but sometimes fundamentals like renewing goodybag bundles. Lately there have been numerous complaints relating to faulty 'refurbished' phones. However, their prices for new phones are very good (better hope the payment system works though). If it weren't for the fact that only giffgaff/O2 can supply an acceptably strong signal in my home, I'd leave and use another carrier. Until recently I'd have heartily recommended giffgaff - sadly not any more.

I currently have an iPhone XS Max which I bought refurbished from giffgaff. It came immaculate and although the battery does go down much faster than it should, I have just put up with it for the past year or so and will shortly be replacing the battery. However, I recently stupidly took a chance and bought a iPhone 13 Pro Max from giffgaff refurbished like new. Once again, immaculate but this time the battery ran hot straight away and it lost charge at an alarming rate (100% - 0 in 3 hours). I sent it back straight away and got a refund of £679. Although cheaper than new, I do not expect to pay that kind of money for a phone that clearly has a major fault. I will avoid giffgaff in future.

Generally good service, until they don't charge your card even though auto top-ups is turned on... Sometimes this is just inconvenient, other times it's annoying, but sometimes it's really *scary* when they block you from making calls, when it's really urgent that you have phone access... GiffGaff say... "You may be wondering, 'well, why if my balance is 3p right now, why would auto top-up not trigger as it's below £3?'. This is also saving you from unnecessary top-ups - the balance needs to actively fall below £3 in order to trigger (for example running low on credit whilst on a call with a premium number). If you start below £3 then auto top-up will simply not know to trigger on the system - in which case you would need to manually top-up first." Because their auto top-up triggers only at the £3 account balance, but not at any account balances below £3... if auto top-up fails, there is no safety net. You will eventually experience a service interruption, until you are able to intervene, to top-up your credit manually yourself. I've been scarily stranded once in Italy, once in the early hours of the morning on a night out in strange town, and yesterday on site at an intruder alarm activation (break-in) on a deserted industrial estate. Through a logical error in Giffgaff’s programming, balances below £3 are ignored as a trigger to activate auto top-up. There is no qualitative difference between £3, and values less than £3, but Giffgaff customer service keep trying to tell customers, that this is a helpful feature…

Bought a refurbished as new Iphone 12 last Summer. The screen went completely after a few days. Took to Apple shop, It's a US phone, shouldn't even be purple it should be black. Definitely some shoddy work being done behind the scenes somewhere. Will only replace handset- I'm not interested, looking at raising the issue with my bank.

SCAM: If I could rate 0 stars then I would!! If I could rate 0 stars then I would!! Trading in my 3 year old iPhone 11 which was in immaculate condition, it always had a glass screen protector and a hard backed case. There were no marks at all on this phone. Received a quote for £85 due to the condition of the phone. I asked giffgaff to send me the pre-paid postage in the post, which was made of a small cardboard cutout and a plastic parcel bag. Packaged the phone within the cardboard inside the parcel bag and shipped it at my local post office. 3 days later I receive a quote of £17 (!!!) for screen burn (!!!), which is not the condition I sent the phone in at all. The iPhone was fully working, fully functional with no issues, and I only traded it in due to needing the newest specs for a new career move. Seems like a scam on giffgaff’s end to con customers and not pay them what they deserve for trading in. Wish I read the reviews beforehand and went elsewhere. £17 and “screen burn” is an insult.

Ordered a refurbished iPhone through giffgaff and the first one didn’t even charge so I asked for a replacement. Second one arrived which charged but drains within 20 minutes of using it. From 100% to 1%…in 20 minutes… save yourself the agg and don’t bother!

Really not competitive service. This is very apparent in the lower data packages. We've noticed much more competitive packages through Martin Lewis and have concluded that Giffgaff is not interested in serving customers who require data packages between one and five mb.

If I could give GiffGaff -100 stars I would. I bought my wife a refurbished phone with a 24 months warranty. After a week the screen started locking and wouldn't respond. The phone was sent back and replaced. The second phone started to have the same issue so was sent back again. The third phone came in a different colour but hey it worked so that was a positive. This third phone lasted about a month then had the same screen lock issue so sent back. This was at the start of February we are now in April and after lots of messages to GiffGaff they have finally got back to us to tell us the camera is broken (WTF it wasn't broken when it went back) and this isn't covered under warranty. We had used GiffGaff for years but would never use them again. Customer service is none existant, the whole company is a scam. DO NOT USE AT ANY COST!!!,

When facing issues there is no contact centre to ring, and is very difficult seeking help online, I ported my number over to giff gaff and then ported back out as soon as the port was complete, I would rather pay extra and stick with a mainstream provider, this has a very much back street job experience
