Booked a lodge advertised by Hoeseasons as having "one double and one twin bedroom" to find on arrival that it had 2 double bedrooms. No alternative accommodation or solution offered by Hoeseasons other than a refund in "up to 10 days", absolutely no customer care or assistance offered after their incorrect description of the lodge. Contacted Hoeseasons to point out their error, their reply was, basically, they are not interested and they still (nearly a 3 weeks later) are incorrectly describing the lodge. Clearly they are quite happy with their inaccuracy.

I have provided extensive reports to the Competition and Marketing Authority (CMA), the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) and Nation Unite, alleging Hoseasons are guilty of price gouging for bookings made in late 2021, for domestic cottage holidays due during 2022. In my case, it was an 94.5% price increase over bookings I made in 2019 (pre Covid) for holidays in 2020. These holidays had to be cancelled of course and Hoseasons credit vouchers were issued. To be clear, prices for 2020 increased by 94.5% (£99 per night to £192 per night) for 2022, for the same venue, same cottage, same booking term and for the same time of the year. Hoseasons have agreed that the increase of 94.5% from 2020 to 2022, was justified and due to high domestic demand for vacations in the UK following the tough lockdowns during Covid-19 and the availability of very limited overseas travel. They believe it was a question of supply and demand and as their pricing is dynamic and responds to different business pressures and competition, a price rise of 94.5% was reasonable. In my opinion, I see it as an opportunity to take unfair advantage of people who had been stuck at home for so long and prepared to pay anything to get away for a break. I contend that such a rise of 94.5% was way over the top and ethically contestable under the broad headings of price gouging and profiteering. My contention is that I was grossly overcharged.to the tune of £2400. No doubt many other people dealing with Hoseasons could have suffered financially in similar circumstances. Don’t be afraid to take the matter up with them or with the monitoring authorities!

Had to give a star should be a minus. DON'T USE THEM and don't believe the info on their booking site! When booking a 3 day stay their booking form stated 'Lowest Price Guarantee', found out a few days later another 'van' with exactly the same specification/make/caravan name/date/length of stay/same site, was cheaper via by park owners plus a substantial reduction on ferry crossings which Hoseasons could not/would not offer. Contacted Hoseasons ......not interested but sent me an email stating "to pay this amount, to avoid further action to recover the money". Requested CEO email details & was given a name who had resigned some 10yrs previously, finally found CEO details, still waiting 10 days later for an acknowledgement, obviously sloppy leadership leads to the same from customer services. Same booking is now still available at £109.00 MORE. Perhaps their comparison x lowest price guarantee is only for their own website :(

Booked a lodge at Whipcott Water for 3 nights to attend a family funeral. Numerous problems from the moment we walked through the door, we left after 1 night, and checked in to a hotel. We complained on our return home but Hoseasons decided to side with the owners. We have been loyal customers of Hoseasons for 16+ years but we will never use them again.

Very poor, rude inconsiderate customer service. Following emergency eye surgery requested if we could defer booking and acvisex thag policy would not permit this as we had paid in full. No flexibility or understanding - very disappointed and would not book with Hoseasons again.

parents paid £1500 for a lodge and also £45 for insurance , they had to cancel as mum was rushed to hospital about 5 days before the stay and is still in hospital 7 months later , contacted hoseasons a few days before the stay was due to cancel it and was told they have already given the lodge owner the £1500 so all they can do is give them back 10% of the insurance premium £4.50!!! what's the point of insurance if you're not going to honour it

We hired a boat from Clifton Cruises via Hoseasons in October 2022 for 7 nights and booked one of their 5 star boats 'Peggy' part of the Starboard range. There was no real instructions just a video to watch and off we went. We were told the TV was intermittent but later found the antenna not actually connected on the roof, so would never work. The door was extremely insecure with only 1mm actually latching. The grill didn't work and the gas cooker had 2 rings that didn't turn off. We managed using the other knobs as the others were so worn. A huge safety issue. This boat is far far from 5 star, more of 1 star. The hire company weren't interested and neither were Hoseasons. Avoid

Good morning, We have just returned from a weeks break on the broads aboard Symphony 3 from Barnes brinkcraft in wroxham. I understand the boat is being retired form service very soon and I can only say I wish that had happened before our holiday. The boat felt grubby and uncomfortable. With only four of us on board we at least had some spare beds which was just as well as we all got wet during the night when it rained. My son had to move out of the double space at the bow as his bedding was very wet. The cabin hood derailed every time it was used, meaning that someone had to climb out to re set it which wasn’t the best of options when it rained and surfaces were slippery. The beds were hard and very uncomfortable and had a horrible grubby smell to them. Really spoiled what might have been a wonderful holiday. Sincerely Gill Dixon.

AVOID!! We booked a Finlake park holiday home Chudleigh Devon through Hoseseasons after looking at many pics of different rated homes we decided to go SUPERIOR as this showed a very modern inside and spacious outside balcony. What we got was something very different!!. The home was very dated and dirty. There was food on the uncomfortable bed sofa chair arms in the living room area.Had rusty kitchen stools and dog hairs in the bed my daughter was sleeping in. The outside was very small, the hotub was dirty inside and out. The seating area was tiny with old dirty fold up chairs covered in bird poo which we couldn't put all 3 out together as there wasn't enough room. Reception were very stubborn and unhelpful, we queried what standard of home we were in and they said it was correct and the pics are generic!. We pointed out the hotub which they said would be cleaned and drained, this wasn't done. When we complained the next day they said it wouldn't be drained just some chemicals put in and sieved! We decided to move to another site and Hoseasons charged us an extra £215. Plus we lost fridge/ freezer food as Finlake charged us for 3 full days said we would need to be out at 10.00am. We couldn't get into the other accommodation until 4.00pm. When I complained through Hoseseasons Finlake wasn't interested. Hoseseasons said they would refund £50 as a goodwill gesture! Which I think just wasn't enough for all the inconvenience and extra money it cost to move!

We enjoyed our holiday at Searles Hunstaton in our touring caravan. Facilities were great. But after setting up we found ants had appeared under the awning carpet, went to office, due to time of day maintenance had finished for the day, no one came to see if we had managed to sort out this problem, so make sure you take something to control the ants. They also need to look at the roads around the site because if 2 caravan/ motorhomes meet, they have a big problem passing as roads only wide enough for 1 vehicle. lastly can you please change the wrist bands which holiday makers are made to wear to get into the swimming baths, entertainment areas etc.

I booked a lodge holiday at Landal Kenwick Woods only to be told by Hoseasons six days later that the lodge I had booked was unavailable (an alternative was provided, but was different to what had been selcted and not what I wanted). Hoseasons said they had tried unsuccessfully to contact me by telephone (they tried once) and then sent me an e-mail advising me to call their Customer Services telephone number. Good luck trying to call the Customer Services telephone number - there is a long wait!! Best to try after 6.00 pm. When I did finally speak to someone they put me on hold as they were not sure why I had been contacted. Once connected to the correct person, I was advised by a harrassed lady (it sounded like she had made the same telephone call to various people that day) that this was due to Hoseasons having one booking system and Landal Kenwick Woods having another booking system which did not sync with one another and that this was not the first time that such an issue had occurred. For a supposedly reputable Company with years of experience you would expect them to have an adequate procedure in place to prevent this from happening. I was advised that my refund would be credited to me instantly, but am still waiting. Also, do not attempt to speak to the Live Chat as their only advice is to contact Customer Services. Will not use Hoseasons again.

What a complete joke of a company, their complaints procedure needs to be reviewed and their staff should consider if they want to work for such an unempathetic organisation. I get the long hold times, we're all busy, but to be cut off whilst on the phone 3 times during a complaint, having to go over everything again and again, only for Hoeseasons to admit that it was their mistake, but refused to offer a gesture of good will, it should have been obvious then that these guys have zero care or consideration for their customers. We all make mistakes, but you do what you can to rectify them and regain a customers trust. So we had booked along with another family, 4 adults and 6 kids, to go to a resort together. We did all the prep back in Feb, made all the phone calls and reservations needed and was guaranteed by the Hoeseasons rep that we would have lodges that would be next door to each other. On calling to confirm with the resort it turns out that Hoeseasons made a mistake and booked a different lodge for one of the families which was a fair distance away. Hoeseason admitted that it was their mistake, the resort unfortunately could not accommodate a change and after almost 3hrs worth of call time I was told there is nothing they are prepared to offer unless I provided a call recording, which conviently for them they could not locate their side - even though the call notes said the same and the lodge also confirmed the same. Having explained the reasoning and need for the lodges to be side by side they still offered zero empathy and recourse for their own mistake. I now have the pleasure of disappointing the kids with this news. A simple gesture of goodwill refund would have prevented this long negative review. I will never do business with Hoeseasons again for the basic principle that they do not respect or care for your custom.

They were rubbish two years ago, it seems things are just as bad if not worse. Anyone having issues with them should consider using the Small claim's court process I and many others had previous issues with this lot, they were posting fake reviews to increase their ratings. Same problems then, non response to emails, not answering calls, management and directors not taking responsibility for customer complaints. If you are thinking of using them, then one word 'don't'

would just like to leave you some feed back on you staffs awful customer service, and to advise I will be contacting head office, also would like to make a complaint so could you advise how I would go about this. As suggested below I contacted the number you supplied to find out about cancelling the holiday as it is booked for 26th august for 1 week, there is no way to make this holiday as David’s funeral is on the 1st September. The gentleman I spoke to has no customer service whatsoever. Firstly he advised me that there is no insurance on the holiday so I would lose 90% of the amount. Naturally I asked even in the event of a death, which he then advised he would go and speak to his supervisor. When he returned he then explained that they could refund me but I would still lose the deposit of £177 which I queried as obviously I would have loved to taken my 6 children on holiday but this has happened so suddenly and as you can see from the death certificate it was very recent so my young children are still suffering. The gentleman then told me I HAD TO understand from a business aspect and short notice of cancellation that £177 is so important to such a big company such as Hoeseasons. No compassion at all and I have to understand from the business point of view but as a large business you don’t understand that I am a 43 year old widow with 6 children youngest being 5. He then advised me that the part payment would be refunded to the original payment method, I tried to explain in the event of my husbands death I have had to freeze his bank accounts, he then told me the reason is because of money laundering. I am his wife, this is clearly stated on the death certificate I sent to you. There was no option for me to transfer the booking into my name like what was advised below. My husband died last week suddenly and I have the rudest, member of staff telling me how I have to understand your poor business is losing money and then worried about money laundering.

A terrible and very disappointing experience. We booked a woodland lodge at Finlake in Devon, they messed up our accommodation so they put us in a caravan. They then tried to make out it was an “upgrade” as it was a 6 berth, and the lodge was a 4 berth. They offered a partial refund which we still haven’t had nearly 2 weeks later. They didn’t transfer our early check-in to our new accommodation so my family had to wait 4 hours before we could get in. I’m not sure who was at fault either Hoseasons, Finlake or both of them but in any case, I will never book with them again

We just returned from a 3 night stay at Bron Eifion lodges. We stayed in a Teigl lodge. The lodge in which we stayed was in a very poor state, certainly not the high standards we normally expect from Hoseasons and the cost was exceptionally high for what it was like. The driveway, if you can call it that, is terrible, it consists of sharp stones which make the ride very bumpy and uncomfortable, there is a large pile of these stones part way along, presumably to put down if necessary, which makes it seem like you are driving towards some kind of building merchants or quarry! It was like driving a rally car! I cannot imagine the pile of stones would make it any better if they were laid down anyway! The lodge had so many things wrong with it, it creaked badly when you walked around and when the washing machine was on spin the whole room shook! Our granddaughter was rather perturbed to be shaking around sat on a chair at the table whilst eating her breakfast, while the washing machine was on, it's a wonder she wasn't transported across the floor! Cupboards in the kitchen were falling apart, at least one cupboard door was hanging off and the corresponding drawer front was at an angle making it impossible to use. Basically the whole kitchen needs ripping out and replacing it is clearly many years old! The leather sofas were very badly damaged, they were ripped! The protection cover on the double bed beneath the bottom sheet was not clean, you certainly did not wish to sleep on it. Damp patches appeared on the floor near the bathroom wall suggesting some kind of leak from the shower, and the ceiling had obviously suffered water damage in the lounge area as you could see water damage clearly on the wall. The windows, absolutely awful, frames broken, bits of wood actually hanging off and one window was very hard to close as it had clearly dropped and left a large gap at the top! There was a piece of A4 paper on the table asking for a £100 deposit to be bank transferred to an account with a mobile phone number to request a refund of said deposit when you leave!! It was written in pencil! We were frankly astounded that anybody should think there was anything left which could be damaged! It was in too bad a state to begin with, they should have paid us a deposit for risking stopping there incase it fell down around us!! Unsurprisingly we were not willing to pay! The radiators had not seen a coat of paint for many years, if at all, the outside of the cabin was a horrible very dark brown which was peeling off everywhere, the curtains in all rooms had seen better days. The freezer had not been cleaned or defrosted which was clear by the ice and frost and the extremely old tray of ice cubes inside. Frankly I think we left the place in a cleaner state than when we arrived, but it was very disappointing and the description and photo on your website are clearly old! Goodness knows when the photos of the outside were taken but obviously years ago and there are none of the teigl lodge interior on the website, we wouldn't have booked if we had seen the true state of the place, and are now reluctant to think about booking another Hoseasons break! We think Hoseasons obviously need to inspect the places they represent more regularly as this place is clearly nowhere near the high standards which you advertise! The only thing we could say in favour is that the fishing lake is pretty.
