Booked a holiday through cottages.com not realising they were Hoseasons until the booking confirmation came through. I paid in full on the 10th July only to receive an email on the 17th July saying the holiday could not go ahead on that date. No explanation given. Four hours later, received an email saying my postcode had been identified as being in Leicester, which it isn’t, I live 75 miles from there. Then received another email telling me to ignore it as it had been sent by mistake. Since then, no contact. Can’t get through on the phone.. wait 2 hours and then they cut you off. No where on website to complain. Pretty sure they have resold the holiday for more money as other cottages I looked at have gone up by £1000 for the same week. Have seen on other review sites the same problems. What a disgusting company.

if you cannot get a refund through normal channels, I have successfully got mine through the small claims court and charged them for four hours of my administration time at £75.00 per hour, £200 for my inconvenience and the Small Claims Court will charge them interest on a daily basis. Anything they agree to get in writing by registered mail( it cost them £6.70 to send mine after they failed to pay the due amount awarded by the court in the first place. I opened up another case with SCC and they got back to me so fast it was like someone had stuck an explosive charge up their backsides. They claim they did not admit liability, yet their customer services manager admitted everything in a statement of truth and failed to do as promised. This is contempt of court. They are a bunch of nutters who think that the rest of us are as stupid as they are. Do not accept vouchers, you have a right to a full refund. I suggest if you still have problems then report them to the CMA (Competitions and Marketing Authority) The more of you that do this the merrier! Do not give into these bullies, they are out of order and they know it! As a result they are under surveillance by the CMA for the foreseeable future! Best of luck to those of you who are still trying to get back what is rightfully yours, you all deserve far better treatment than Ho Seasons who are a truly despicable company!

Booked holiday cottage a few weeks ago. Paid in full. Last week I got an email saying my holiday has been cancelled. When I asked for an explanation I was told it was because I was in the Leicester lockdown area - I live 200 miles from Leicester. Since highlighting this I have heard nothing - no response to email or tweets and cannot get through on the phone. Really dreadful company

This company are happy to rip off customers and are profiting from this Covid 19 pandemic . I booked a holiday back last year and due to me be in the valuable category I have tried to cancel as concerned to travel anywhere . I have been constantly ignore . we paid extra at time of booking for holiday insurance but this do not make a difference . I have sent them e-mails plus a letter to their head office . Constantly called them but cannot get through .I am reporting them to ABTA and also contacted the BBC Rip of Britain to publicise them as the Rip off company they are . DO NOT BOOK

Absolutely disgusted that you are not offering a refund and taking advantage of a very unfortunate situation. Keeping people on hold for over 6 hours and then forcing us to move our holiday to next year. Rude staff. Will not be using Hoseasons again. Have reported you to CMA.

We have been scammed! Booked a caravan with hot tub with Hoseasons in Hemsby for July at a reasonable price during lockdown as my wife works for NHS and needed the break. Tried to pay for the balance with no success at all despite regularly trying, but they would not answer the phone and online system would not take the balance. We then contacted the caravan site direct to try and pay there, only to discover that Hoseasons had in fact cancelled our booking and sold it to someone else on 7th July ( 2 weeks before we were due to go) and no doubt at a much higher post lockdown price. When we finally got hold of someone at Hoseasons after literally hours & hours of waiting on the phone, they told us that they had cancelled the booking due to non payment and that we were not entitled to our deposit back, even though we had not cancelled the booking ourselves we had had no prior notification of the cancellation from them at all. We of course explained that we could not get hold of them to pay the balance, but they were not interested , and they then tried to sell us a more expensive package with our deposit money. We finally got the deposit back after a lot of discussion and tears, but they really didn't give a toss about us or our predicament.

First time I have booked with Hoseasons - and it will be the last unfortunately! Booked a midweek break on 5th July to start on 13th July. Received a few confirmation emails and directions, but no key collection details. Queried via dm on Twitter. Eventually directed to use the local contact number for the site. When in contact with the site owner on 10th July, I was then informed that the lodge I booked was no longer available for holiday rental! I should never have been able to book in the first place. So I had paid £689 for a holiday that didn’t exist! Cue a weekend of stress trying to speak to someone at the Hoseasons call centre. After hours on hold (when I eventually got through), I spoke to ‘Steve‘ who, to be fair, was pleasant and helpful. I got my refund after a few days. I appear to be one of the fortunate ones in this respect, although in this non-Covid related case, Hoseasons did not have a leg to stand on and if they delayed the refund I would have taken legal action. This experience has taught me to not trust what Hoseasons are offering as available on their website, and to be very concerned as to how the management are presently running this company. For them to sit back and allow customers to be treated in such a terrible manner regarding double booked holidays, mis-sold holidays, delayed refunds, unauthorised deduction of balances, last minute cancellations, and the extreme difficulty in being able to actually talk to someone on the phone is nothing short of a disgrace. I do feel sorry somewhat for the call centre staff who I can only presume are getting little to no support from their employers, and are no doubt bearing the brunt of everyone’s frustration. Businesses are rightly being judged as to how they have been behaving and dealing with the challenges this year. I cannot see how Hoseasons are going to recover from the way their parent company and management have made a complete mess of everything and how these people have successfully destroyed decades of a decent reputation.

I am increasing frustrated with the poor level of customer service provided by Hoseseasons. I have emailed on numerous occasions with no response and tried on numerous times to call but nobody is picking up the phone. No acknowledgements, no apologies, nothing! This is a very bad experience and not one that I would want to repeat.

Firstly it took us from March until July together back our money for a break cancelled due to coronavirus. As these circumstances were exceptional we booked a break today after holding on phone for an hour, holiday is next week.No sooner had I paid than the owner rang to let me know there were major building works going on next door! As this is advertised as quiet I tried to ring hoseasons, permanently engaged, I'm really fed up, service is terrible.
