“Unprofessional, Aggressive, and Deceptive Practices.
I recently sought a quotation for 12 windows from Anglian Home Improvement and was thoroughly disappointed with the entire experience. From the outset, the first point of contact, a sales representative, was condescending and aggressively pushy. Despite my lack of interest, he proceeded to ask invasive personal finance questions, which felt inappropriate and bordered on unsolicited financial advice—especially when suggesting how I could "afford" their extortionate quote of over £14,456.00.
When I made it clear that the price was unaffordable and that I no longer wanted their business, the sales representative’s tone shifted from pushy to outright rude, ending the conversation with a highly unprofessional remark: "Watch out for those drones." This was in response to my mentioning earlier that I served in the Armed Forces—a completely unnecessary and disrespectful comment.
Days later, I was contacted by the regional manager, who claimed they wanted my business and were willing to lower the price to £9,613.53. When I asked why they were comfortable with a nearly £5,000 price reduction only after I refused, they had no response. This suggests that the original quote was inflated, which I find both deceptive and unethical.
Even after making it abundantly clear that I have no interest in their services and explicitly requesting to be removed from their contact lists, I continue to receive phone calls from different numbers, text messages, and emails. Their persistence is nothing short of harassment.
In summary, my experience with Anglian Home Improvement was characterised by aggressive sales tactics, unprofessional behaviour, and deceptive pricing practices. I would strongly suggest against engaging with this company.”
“I have been corresponding with Anglian since 20th June concerning a repair of a window. I've phone numerous times and been told the same excuse we will email you haha still waiting . This company needs to address who manages what if it was me I would get rid of them all an start again . Shambles.”
“Arranged appointment for them to come for a quote and didn’t show. Gave them benefit of the doubt and they said they would come at 2pm Saturday. Again no show. After the 3rd attempt at arranging appointment . They didn’t show again. Can’t believe we gave them the time or day. Wouldn’t trust them at all. Stay well Clear. Unprofessional behaviour and shocking customer service. Dodged a bullet there”
“Had my credit card duplicated the day after I paid a deposit. Area manager refused to return my calls after I initially raised it. Logged 3 complaints with customer service, never heard back. Back doors are constantly slipping. I have had 3 separate callouts for them to fix. Prices are based on how the sales person is feeling. 8k quote dropped to 5k if I purchased there and then. Dropped to 4k a week later. Installation carried out by a 3rd party local trader.”
“I had Anglian come to my house to give a quote. They quote 12k for 2 windows and 2 doors. Suddenly when I start saying no the price drops over 50% to 5k… so where do they make these prices up. The sales person continues to say this offer is only valid now unless you sign now. If I leave then it’s gone and I won’t be coming back. I said I want to think about it and look at other options and he would still drop price and say you need to do this today. Creating extreme and uncomfortable pressure in my house. I asked for new sales person and the same guy turned up, so we shut door. Unacceptable.”
“We didn't have a bad experience, we just didn't have any experience. We had confirmation of time and date waited for 30 mins, nothing.
We called anglian who told us no one is booked to come out, no apology for wasting our time. But when he offered to rebook another appointment we declined the offer as we don't want to waste our time again.
Their loss as we were return customers and it was just going to be a paperwork exercise. Never again and no more recommendations.”
“You maybe thinking of getting your house double glazed but before you engage Anglian windows remember one thing if you need any replacement parts like Door Handles etc.you can only get these from Anglia at extortionate prices!”
“Asked for a quote. Appointment arranged, then had 3 phone calls within 2 days to bring appointment forward. Fair enough but... the sales guy was very pushy.... almost couldn't get rid of him, he was so determined to convince me they were the only company who could do the job. But what REALLY annoyed me was after he'd left, some other guy called, telling me not to consider other companies as Anglian are "the only company to make bespoke windows in the UK" Those were his exact words and that's an outright lie. How dare they state that! If I could give zero score I would!!”
“I am thankful for reading these reviews.I felt uncomfortable after a rep visit from this company and felt a little manipulated .No need for full disclosure but apparently I did not need what I requested ! Instead I was lead in a completely different direction.Before I knew it I was signing a contract and paying a hefty deposit for something I had not requested.Thankfully I cancelled this contract after 2 days because of reservations.Despite money leaving my bank immediately I must apparently wait an unreasonable 28 days for my monies to be returned .”
“A new front door was installed in 2021. We are still waiting for the door to be problem free despite numerous service visits they still can’t get it right. Absolutely useless, just don’t even bother with them.”
“The way that we have been treated is despicable. It took them more than 8 months to change 5 windows (2 triple and 3 double glazed) and they still have not managed to get it right. The first time they came to change the windows was on the 30th of January 2024 and there are still issues that Anglian Improvement cannot get right.
Mark Davenport, the manager lacks basic communication skills, he is patronising to the point that he is almost rude. On the 28th of June 2024, an appointment was booked to change a couple of panels which were replaced in January- the landing window (mark inside) and one of the triple glazed window, which had the wrong pattern. My wife took time off from work, but they did not turn up and did not have the basic courtesy to inform us. We had to contact them. On the 9th of August, they arrived but they forgot to order the panel to the landing window.
We thought that by replacing a double to a triple glazed window, we will less noise. On the contrary, we have more noise and now we also have condensation as soon as the temperature hits below 10 degree Celsius. We were sent a link and told that this is normal.
PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY-THEY ARE EXPENSIVE, BUT THE SERVICE IS VERY POOR AND THEY DO NOT WANT TO BE HELD ACCOUTABLE FOR THEIR SHODDY JOB.”
“A representative came to my door to try to get me to have a quote for fascias.
He was extremely rude and pushy, and just would not go! Harassment in the extreme.
I partially closed the door, and as he left, he said : We'll let it rot then"...I also heard him say it again to the chap with him.
My daughter in law said that he wouldn't have dared be so rude if one of my sons had been here...I guess he thought a female pensioner was fair game!
I emailed the company's complaints dept, but no response...of course.
From what I have read, this seems to be typical of Anglian 's reps. Such rudeness!”
“The window quality is quite good. But the service on the other hand is terrible.
You have to wait 2-3 months to get your stuff installed after you pay.
They have overloaded their installers with a lot of work. They don't come at the time you arrange and they do very lousy job because they have to be fast.
While changing our window, they cracked the edges of the window. I asked them fix it and offered to provide the paint. They kept saying "we are not painters and decorators" as if they are robot.
If a company is charging %40 more than the market I expect them to be professionals. But they are clearly not.”
““With an average lifespan of around 30 years, these doors are durable, look like real wood, and won't easily crack or peel.” As quoted by Anglian online! Ours is peeling after 6 years. We were told when we ordered everything came with 10 years guarantee and when I phoned customer services was told guarantee ( sent 5 months after door was installed only) 5 years for door finish. They told me to send photos and would get back to me, haven’t heard anything in weeks! So buyers beware they cannot be trusted”
“Do not go along with this company.
We had a 3 year long battle with them after giving them a third chance to rectify the most appalling shoddy work we’d ever seen.
Resulted making myself & my husband ill from the stress.
We eventually got a solicitor involved in the matter.
Worrying about solicitor costs from begging to end the solicitor was fantastic.
Only 2 face to face visits with the solicitor which is what costs the most.
The rest via email, this kept the solicitor cost to a minimum.
Eventually Anglian had to admit defeat & were contacted via our solicitor to remove the appalling windows from our property.
The same day we had new windows installed by another company.
Fantastic work, polite friendly & clean tidy workmanship by Pro-Fit window company KT9.
Luckily we only paid Anglian £50 deposit.
Never received a penny back & never received an apology for the stress they’d put us through.
It wasn’t about the money but the fact they’d bogged all the windows on our house.
It’ll cost a few grand but every penny was worth taking this company to the cleaners.
The one star i can’t remove .
If i could give zero out of 10 it would be just that.”
“Salesman turned up for a "30 min" appointment which lasted at least twice that before we had to try and get him out by explaining that we needed to work. Wanted to use the WiFi, wanted a hot drink, wanted to use our toilet. Just classic tactics to get us to feel obliged to commit to them. Turned aggressive when we said we didn't want to make a decision on the day. Dread to think what it's like for vulnerable people who allow these people into their homes.
A better company came and measured and left in 15 mins.”
“If only I read the reviews before going ahead with my order. If you are considering having windows installed think carefully before choosing Anglian Windows. £10k in and immediately 2 window frames had to be replaced due to install damage. The 2 new ones are worse, one the frame doesn’t fit so a a piece of odd plastic has been added to make the frame bigger, the other one has exactly the same damage but this time the fitters left having covered it up with silicone. The handles on one frame are at different hights, the handles on most frames are loose and seemingly poor manufacture. Oh and customer service????? Shocking. Honestly please think twice before parting with your money to this company. The guys that own this company should be ashamed of themselves for stealing hard earned money from honest people and doing such a dishonest job.”
