“Had no delivery communication and sofa was left outside my front door!
Then when I came to assemble sofa it had a bit torn in it.
I tried to contact the company before I put this review, but again no communication at all!”
“This mat arrives curled up and despite lying the mat flat and laying it under a rug with a heavy table on top of it for a week the mat still curled up at the ends. As this was a dangerous tripping hazard I contacted the company for a refund. I was informed I could keep the mat for a 20% discount or return the mat for a 100% refund. I had no use for a mat that was a tripping hazard so opted to return the mat. I curled the mat up and re-packaged it in the original packaging to return it. The company said I needed to pay the return costs. I argued that as the mat is defective they should pay the return costs. I was then asked to supply a photograph of the mat however the mat had now been curled up in the box for 24hrs & I didn’t want to have to go through the process of trying to flatten it out again so have unfortunately sent it back and paid the postage. I will never use this company again as I believe this mat has an obvious defect that the company must have been aware of but they are trying to avoid refunding the customer 100%.”
“Cannot speak to the quality of the product but received shocking service. I ordered a bed for my 36 year old brother in law to return to some comfort following further treatment after a 3 year battle with cancer. Heartbreakingly, we lost my handsome brother in law and the bed was never built.
I phoned Aosom who advised to email. Brief condolences were offered before advising that the reason was not sufficient to return the bed and I could only do so at my own cost.
A very kind work contact took it upon themselves and at their cost to handle the return for me. Unfortunately the address and contact number for return does not exist. A second one was given over the phone. The delivery was refused. I was then given the first address again via email. I arranged for the bed to be returned to me.
It will now go to someone in need at my cost.
I will never use Aosom again. The whole experience whilst grieving someone special to me has been nothing short of appalling.”
“This item ,I think ,was incorrectly advertised using the word toaster. It does not have a radiant heating element capable of toasting bread. It was for this purpose I bought it. And it cost me money to return it.”
“Before purchasing I measured the area I wanted to put this fire place in. It was perfect. However, when I tried to put it in the desired space it wouldn't fit. There is like 1mm of plastic covering over the actual top, this was not included in the measurements. When I contacted customer services they refused to pay for my return and sent numerous emails which were very unhelpful. In the end I gave up and started using the electric fire. Then I was sent another email saying I could return it, which was too late now as I had opened it. This was my first and last purchase with Aosom. The electric fire works well and looks very nice.”
“I was so excited for my sofa. The pictures made it look plush, modern, and inviting—like the kind of couch you’d sink into after a long day and instantly forget all your problems. Instead, I got something that feels like it was built out of cardboard and false promises.
The frame creaks louder than my knees when I stand up, and the “solid construction” they brag about? Pretty sure it’s held together by hope and cheap staples. But the real kicker: the cushions. The listing said they’d “fully expand within 72 hours.” It’s been a month. A whole month. I could have grown a new personality in that time, but these cushions are still flatter than my motivation on a Monday morning.
I’ve fluffed, flipped, begged, and even sat on them out of pity—nothing. They look like deflated pancakes that gave up on being furniture.
At this point, I’m not sure if I bought a sofa or an elaborate prank. If you want something comfortable, keep looking. If you want a constant reminder of life’s disappointments, this is for you.”
“Ordered the bed for my cat, when it came, for some reason there was a packet of activated charcoal in the box, and the bed was covered in black stains and was a lot smaller than pictures illustrated. Then cost a further £8 to return!”
“Unfortunately, this big bag is NOT WATERPROOF. We set it up carefully in a sheltered area of our garden on previously installed slabs and loaded it with all our dry outdoor cushions. We were careful to ensure the zip was fully closed and covered by the protective overlap. As it had rained the following night, my partner checked the bag, and found water in the bottom and some damp cushions. BEWARE
.”
“The planter was so flimsy I could not see how it would hold earth to plant flowers or vegetables. I did not put any screws in and have emailed requesting to return the goods. However I have been informed I will have to arrange my own packaging which would probably cost about as much as the goods. Not at all happy about my purchase and I definitely will not be shopping with Aasom again”
