“Thermostatic control was the main consideration for replacing my existing heater which has the usual 3 heat settings. Generally, I am pleased with my purchase, however, there are a few points that I thought worth mentioning:
1. my existing heater emits a radiant heat (cosy to sit in front of) while the new one seems more of a convector (heat going to the ceiling first). Both are good, just hadn't noticed this when buying.
2. the heater casing bangs and creaks a lot as the thermostat cycles on and off (here, anything below setting 4 is quite noisy due to the frequency of the cycling).
3. I hadn't realised that each burst of heat would be at the full 4.2 kw power rating, so I've yet to see how running costs will compare.
In conclusion, would I buy this model again? ... Yes.”
