They issue you no courtesy car while it’s in the garage for 7 months and expect you to pay the full monthly fees!
The car came back to me and has broken again, so far it’s taken 12 weeks for them to get another appointment at the garage and guess what no courtesy car again!
I have asked to swap my vehicle for something more reliable, I’ve been told no, I keep the car of pay over £5000 to send it back!”
“My company lease two cars through Arval. My car a Hyundai has never been fit for purpose since i received delivery of it in March 22. In fact the car has been with Eden Basingstoke for a total of 8 months during a rental period of only 21 months - almost half the term of the lease. We pay roughly £450 per month for this car. We were pretty upset at the problems we were having with the car and wrote to Arval asking them to help sort out the situation. This process started 3 months ago and i have now dealt with over 9 people since the start. We eventually got moved up the chain to a Senior Customer Services Manager for Retail called Peter. He has been no help whatsoever and offered us a mere 2 months rental as way of compensation for a car that has been off the road for 8 months out of the 21 months we have had it. He tried to charge me 50% of the remaining lease to take the car which incidentally the garage has confirmed as not being fit for purpose. I asked a number of times for a satisfactory solution to this on-going nightmare but none was forthcoming. Arval do not care about their customers and offer no personal service or help when a situation like ours occurs. We are now dealing through our lawyers which will incur further costs and time which I will claim back through the courts if necessary. Please do not use this company as they offer no real compensation and do very little to help when the customer is in need!”
“We took out a lease on a car 6 weeks ago, it has already broken down and will be in the garage for 4 weeks. We have tried to get a replacement vehicle but Arval are extremely unhelpful, we spent several days on the phone to them and all they say it is not part our of the contract. DO NOT TAKE A LEASE FROM THEM! We are also still paying for the vehicle!”

“My car is currently off the road for an extended period (2 months plus expected for parts) this is also the 2nd time this same out has happened. I’m covered for the repairs under my maintenance package that I pay for but as my car is out of warranty the manufacturer will not provide a courtesy car. Arval have told me that my terms and conditions do not include a courtesy car and therefore I am now without a car for the foreseeable future despite having to pay my monthly lease still. I have tried to raise complaints to speak to someone but they really don’t care at all. Please avoid!”

Was initially advised that the return of vehicle LC19 DHJ would be £0 on the phone but have since received two bills for £500 which they are threatening legal action with. Wish I had read the reviews before using this company. Scam artists.”
“New Arval lease car arrived with front number plate not screwed on. Can’t drive any distance adds a result. We were advised to ‘screw it on ourselves’ - what on a lease car? I don’t think so. Also arrived filthy with mud underneath (obviously been parked in a muddy field) and with only one key. Can’t set up the infotainment and user profiles as both keys are required. Second key sent after we called several times, but needs to be paired by a dealer to we have to make an appointment, losing 2 weeks from delivery. Compensation - told to take it up with the dealer. Erm, no, our contract is with YOU! Really wished we had ised another company. Other review sites have Arval raised a lot lower than 4.0.”
