“I have a Johnny the Fox in #8 Shell Cordovan for 2+ years now, and it is every bit as nice as the day I received it. The leather is exceptional, construction is flawless. It isn't inexpensive, but it's a good value and you get what you pay for.”

“The all-reverse black shell cordovan Tall Tony is outstanding. The choice of thickness for the various parts of the wallet are perfect. This Tony has a thinner piece on the outside of the bill slot, making the wallet much more slender than it otherwise might be. (In contrast, my amaretto shell Fat Herbie has a much thicker piece on the outside of the bill slot, making for a thicker/stiffer wallet that can't hold many bills and "creaks" when opening and closing.) I also purchased a reverse black shell Key Vault. The leather is great---matching the Tall Tony---but the snap is glitchy and often difficult to open/close. The Horween shell cordovan looks/smells/feels great. I have other wallets made from Shinki Hikaku shell and Rocado shell. Both are equally smooth and glossy, but they don't have that fabulous Horween "veg" fragrance.”

“I ordered the Johnny the Fox in reverse shell cordovan. It is the most beautiful wallet I’ve ever had. It is worth the investment. If you are questioning whether to take the leap and buy this, do it. You won’t regret. This is my 3rd wallet from them because I can never decide with all their choices. The craftsmanship is impeccable. Ashland leather is the best.”

“I love the design and the functionality of the wallet. The leather is smooth, the cash pocket is spacious to easily put in and take out the money but holds cash/cards in place as wallets should be. My wallet came with weird white streaks on outer, bottom, and folds of the wallet. This streaks makes it look like the leather got cracked (it’s not cracked I assure you). I wanted to age my wallet along with my adventures but it seems like this wallet had few adventures on its own.”

“Let’s see: small goods using literally the finest leather in the world, designed and handmade by skilled artisans at a small, personable company owned by two long-time employees of the tannery that produces said leather. Can you go wrong? No. But, for the skeptical (like me), add the fact that they love doing what they do, that they take the time to interact with their customers via social media and live videos, that they teach about their craft, that they welcome their customers’ enthusiasm and make them feel like a part of the process. It’s an unequaled experience, with unequaled service and quality. Cheap? No. Worth it?
