“A nice hotel with comfortable rooms. The bathroom drains were a bit whiffy at times but nice fluffy towels and a comfy bed. The food was good but a little pricey.”
“I was in Darlington on a short term contract and after spending the first week at an unacceptable hotel moved to the Darlington Ashton, what a breath of fresh air! Very impressive service. I had intended staying for a few days but ended up staying for 3 months. The staff was very helpful, friendly and professional. The food was fantastic the rooms were clean and comfortable ( I changed rooms a few times). I would visit again in a hurry if I'm ever in that area.”
“We really enjoyed our stay at the Aston made extra special by the friendly, helpful reception staff. Our room was very adequate, comfy bed plus an excellent power shower. The evening meal consisted of three courses, we chose the soup as our starter which was very tasty, I had salmon with seasonable vedgetables very nice whilst my partner chose risotto which she enjoyed this was followed by a choice of sweets. The hotel is situated close to the motorway making easy access to the main towns.”

“I was a bit disappointed having booked a twin room on the hotels website to arrive and find that it was in fact a double. I had spoken to the receptionist who said that it should have been set up as a twin and she would get that sorted. As we were there to attend a wedding we didn't get back until late to find that it had not in fact been changed. As it was late by this time we just had to make the best of it. I did mention this on check out but was told that they were unable to say why that was as the member of staff wasn't in.”
“I stop at the Aston occasionally when working in Dumfries. I find the staff to be very polite, friendly and helpful. The rooms are always cleaned to a good standard. The only critisism is that the TV channels are very limited with often only 3 terrestrial channels available. Also WiFi signal can be poor in some rooms which is a problem when trying to work in my room.”
“Comfortable contemporary rooms with most "modern" amenities. Mobile reception very patchy however on both O2 and Orange. Staff pleasant, help and efficient. Only major complaint is that the food is pedestrian - stolid rather than imaginative - and the wine list is rather limited.”
