“With this one you want to read the fine print, if you can find it, must be a type size 4 or something. I mean you do want to look in between sentences. read every this review too while you're at it. But do yourself a favor and don't go anywhere near these bookies. Just go to one of the big ones. The ones that actually work. Radical concept, I know.
Because here? Here you get a direct debit you didn't even know you signed up for. And you get absolutely nothing for it, no credit, no book, no film, no next day delivery, no unnecessary news, no music, no service. And when you ask about it and this is the good part, they look at you like you are the crazy one. "Of course you're paying for nothing, sir." Same logic as tipping at a restaurant you've never set foot in. Where someone else ate your food. And enjoyed it!
Meanwhile the customer service, responds like a waiter who's already eaten your entire meal and is now making you wait to tell you you can't have any. With a smile.
I cancelled everything. On the website. In writing. They still took my money. So I looked it up in an audiobook, definition: it is called a SCAM.
When complained. The offer was store credit.. store credit. For a shop i don't shop at, have not used. Why would I start now? That's like a mugger handing you back a gift card after he's already taken your wallet!
Don't rob yourself. Read a book about get-rich-quick schemes. Don't let this land on deaf ears. You hear me?
1. "If you change your mind, reply within 24 hours and we’ll reinstate your membership at no extra cost. After that, a $11.95 re-enrollment fee will apply."
2. “We understand how unexpected charges or confusion around subscriptions can feel upsetting."
3. "Our goal is to make sure every customer fully understands their options and receives great service."
1a. a fee to re-apply to a service after complaining, that is pretty BOLD
2a. If you understand, that means you are aware of taking advantage of well meaning people
3a. You can forward to the terms as much as you want, but you are not offering a SERVICE, just an unwanted SUBSCRIPTION. They are NOT very clear, who knows what a FlexPass is. You are aware of what you are doing, yes probably the info is there, but people expect a service when they pay for something. you don't walk into a bookstore, and be expected to pay for a book, because you looked at the cover.”
“It’s a scam. It works out to be about $44 for an audio book:
I paid $11.95 usd for their ‘Flexi pass’ (which is $16.87 Australian)
Then the audiobook 'on sale' at $18.85 is $26.50 aud.
So the book cost me $43.37 and I can get the exact same book on audible australia for $20.”
“I like audio books. But I will never buy one from this dishonest company again. After purchasing, you are apparently (without your knowledge?) signed up for a monthly program which charges your credit card $11.95 per month for nothing. I emailed them 4 or 5 times within a week and have received NO RESPONSE even though they claim to respond in 24 to 28 hours or less. Buyer beware. Worst of the worst, in my opinion.”
“Hidden monthly charges applied without warning. Company uses manipulative and deceptive tactics to select FlexPass to charge customers without clear consent for additional charges. This behavior resulted in almost 150 USD losses for my family.”
“İ can not access my membership to cancel my subscription. They do not reply to my messages or my e-mails. Their chat line is never open. They are very bad. Do not be tempted to use them!”
“This company performed an unauthorised charge on my card. They advertised the book 'Psychopath Free' for 9.95USD and I purchased the book. They decided to conveniently charge me again in a few weeks claiming I purchased the book on a "pass". I never signed up for anything like that nor did I authorise to be signed up for such a thing. I will be raising a dispute with my bank as this is a fraudulent charge.”
“I have gone thru the process of correcting my ignorance by cancelling my account about 5 months ago. I’m continuing to be charged 9.95 a month.
Ive deleted my acct I have bo passwords I have nothing. At thus point I want a refund for 5 months of them scamming me. Very frustrated. I work hard for my living I do not have an automated system stealing money while sitting my butt
Elaine suber 850-443-1055
I want my refund by check.
There may not be anyone there smart enough to write a check.
If you ever thought about ordering a book from this place, I will not even honor it as a business but a SCAM
I AM ANGRY
!”
“Worst app ever for audiobooks. Books are overpriced as compared to audible and audiobooks. They deduct money monthly from your account but you don’t get a book- they claim it’s for discounts but it’s made redundant by the fact that even with said discounts their books are more expensive. I have been trying to get a refund to no avail. I strongly warn people against using this book store.”
“Cancelled my subscription with AudiobookStore and they just keep on charging my credit card. Haven't been able to talk to them due to claimed issues with their phone system.
There's a lot of sympathy via email correspondence, no action though.
As stated by others, sketchy at best.
I'll be going with Audible or going without.”
“I ordered a book in error and contacted the company immediately to exchange the book. I was told that they don’t do exchanges and that they are sorry for any inconvenience. 🤬”
“These people are criminals. Purchased one book then they started charging me every month. I did not authorize this charge. Customer service doesn’t exist. You message on the app no body gets back. I email them they say the email is not on record I provide proof that the email I provided is the one on my app. They can’t find it. I show proof of the money coming out of my account they can’t find it. You can’t cancel a subscription you never authorized. Then when I became frustrated they said my tone was unacceptable and stopped responding to my emails. I’ve contacted consumer affairs and lodged a complaint and I had to cancel my card. Absolute nightmare. Do not use these horrible American people.”
“The app is clumsy, and so I didn't use it much. When I came to want to cancel no one gets back to you but they keep taking their monthly payment out of your bank account. They are not an honest company I have found.”
