Could have been a good idea, if it were not for a shockingly poor website and account management. Having received a gift voucher, it took 2 calls to the company to get a code and place an order. Even then, the website kept thinking the code had been "used" so did not accept it. Eventually, having given up for a few months, the system reset and it accepted my code. However, during the "confirm subscription" process, the site no longer accepted my code and charged me £10.99 for my free coffee! And yes, the coffee that should have been free arrived in 2 days. Even now, over a month later, having tried to cancel my subscription, the site tells me its pending (that is even after the website upgrade). It would have been a good idea, and I probably would have continued with the subscription. But, its such a poor system, I would suggest you avoid.

Didn’t get my preferences correctly, and ended up with a undrinkable coffee, but 5 stars for delivery and response times .

I was sent a bag of coffee that had a date that was either a roast date or a use by date, unsure of either as no year I disposed of the coffee. It was a free trial so not really impressed so will not use them again,I was contacted by the company concerned about my review but have not heard anything about the investigation I have received an email to change this review as it has been dealt with, at no point has it been dealt with just a reply implying I am wrong or confused with the dating process, my emails were with Richard Jones so have a chat with him as this will clear up your (so we thought that it was clear) comment.

Hi Matthew, We are sincerely sorry to read this review and to hear that you threw away such an amazing (and freshly roasted for you) coffee. I can confirm that the date on the bag is the roast date - it is written (or stamped) in the area that says 'Roasted for you on:' so we thought that it was clear. This was not the first coffee bean that I've tried and was one of the worst. Very sour and unless you add milk and sugar it was not what I was expecting from chocolatey flavoured Brazilian coffee

Good coffee, but most of my orders haven’t arrived. The other package hasn’t been delivered and it has been over a week. I have only received 1 of my orders (out of the three payments I’ve made). May I know where are the other 2 orders?

I was so disappointed with the quality of the beans. There were 2 roasted on dates on the pack and I feel these were old beans just relabelled and sent out. The coffee was un drinkable and sadly everything went in the bin.

Hi Stuart, It comes as a huge shock to read your review, as all of our coffees are roasted to order and sent directly from the roaster. Did you contact our customer service to raise this? I cannot seem to see any contact from you. We would be super interested to hear which coffee this was for and would of course rectify this for you. The quality of the products is excellent when you actually get them. When I first signed up to Beans they provided excellent customer service and the beans were always delivered on time. If I made changes to my preferences, Richard was always quick to respond and act on this. Sadly over the past 5 months or so the service has significantly deteriorated. Now I don’t receive deliveries without prompting and even then there is still a delay. I was told I won a free prize but as I didn’t want my identity to be revealed it was withdrawn as per their TnCs. It would have been nice to receive even a lesser replacement as a way to reward but instead nothing. When I again chased about the non delivery, Royal Mail strikes were blamed again for yet again another apparent lost delivery. All in all non existent customer service. Such a shame that customers are not valued in any demonstrative way.

Supposed to get 2 x free beans with Curry’s Breville machine. Had to register with beans coffe e club & give bank card details. Still no way to claim free beans. Rang twice - told that someone would ring me back - they definitely did not. Eventually received 1 x small bag of mediocre beans which cost me £7.99. Had to deregister to stop further payments. My advice would be - avoid like the plague.

Hi Mariusz We are really sorry you didn't liker your first coffee. Coffees shouldn't ever taste sour, with the berry vibe of the coffee who received, if the coffee was under-extracted it could definitely taste sour or sharp. This coffee should be rich and round, but then have a cut-through of berry/cherry. I would suggest that you grind your beans a little coarser, allowing more extraction and allowing the sweeter flavours to come through; for people using espresso machines we find this normally resolves any sour tasting issues. If someone is using a pour over then reducing the amount of coffee can also help. Poor service - didn’t receive anything after a week. Emailed to get a replacement sent out and still nothing, having emailed again it was meant to be sent out but hasn’t. Poor service honestly - Richard who replied to the email was very fast and friendly so the only good thing.

Hi James Thanks for you review. Unfortunately your order was lost in the mail. I appreciate this is frustrating. We know how important is it to get your coffee on time. Once you contacted us we raised an order for a replacement to be sent out from our roasting partner, before you could receive this you requested it to be stopped and your account cancelled which we did without question. I can see you had all your emails responded to within 24 hours and all of your requests were actioned. I am sorry that there was an issue, sadly they do happen from time to time. I hope that you will consider us again in the future.
