“Rebin is a bad instructor I went for my first lesson with him in a manual car and all he did was pressure me complaining that I was supposedly knocking in to kerbs when I was in a car park no kerbs were there, complaining about the fact I was struggling with the gears and constantly asking me "Are you rich?" I tried to tell him I have learning disabilities but wouldn't give me chance to speak he told the company I was happy with the lesson I never said I was happy with the lesson considering I left the lesson shaking Rebin got out of it I would give this company 0 out of 0 not worth the money he ended my lesson at 12:44 I was supposed to be having a 2 hour lesson he got away with £75 for the lesson I felt like he had no patience he was on my back straight away from the minute i started the drive. He shouldn't be an instructor if he cant handle people and if he is going to treat people like dirt just for a few mistakes. I've now gone to another company I would recommend to everyone look up MQW Driving school the guys at MQW driving school are so much better they teach at your pace and don't pressure you they are so much more better. Don't go to to Bill Plant Driving School”
“I bought a voucher last week for my partner to take driving lessons. I paid close to £400, and the voucher was to be emailed to him within 24hours. We are now 6 days later with no voucher. I emailed 3 times now and have phoned 3 times also, with no Joy. They have acknowledged that the money has been received, but haven’t bothered to send it. Bad business all around.”
“28/10/2024, approx 13:55, Bill Plant Driving School, reg plate YF24 UPB.
Car cut in front of me, slammed on his brakes and forced me to suddenly brake. The HGV right behind me ended up really close behind me. Scared the F out of me and really, for a professional driving company putting themselves and others at risk is disappointing.”
“1 star isn’t what I rate…I’d put minus if I could, after my partner having his driving instructor for almost a year (Mohammed in Sheffield) he told him months ago to book his test. After passing his theory a month or so in Also. Of course with the back log he had to wait around 2/3 months for the test date in which he kept having his weekly lessons (2hours £72) a week before his test he told him to have a few extra lessons just to be prepared in time so he had an extra 2 lessons (3 in total in 1 week over £200!) for him to say as he was leaving at the end of his last lesson good luck on Monday?! My partner had a lesson booked in on the Monday to do and go to the test in…for the instructor to tell him no your not using my car I thought your using your partners! ( a car he’s never drove before) long story short he’s nothing but a con man! Every single lesson he’s 15/20 min late and comes back off the 2 hour lesson 15 mins early! As well as stopping all the time to go for a wee in the street! Or always changing days and times to fit as much as he can in but on the one occasion my partner was ill and asked to reschedule he couldn’t accommodate that and also took the payment for it! an absolute money grabbing horrible man bill plant should be ashamed for having such a worker!”
“Absolutely rubbish company take your money and then don’t bother to contact you to arrange for a driving lesson had to chase and chase and ended up requesting a refund they were useless”
“Instructors park like the photo so absolutely shouldn't be teaching anyone.
Blocking pavements for pedestrians, Inc children who can't see over the car to check it's safe to pass, is rightly illegal and very antisocial, as well as dangerous.”
“Hi, I had a very bad experience with one of the lady instructor, Mrs Ilana Mansoor I booked driving lesson for my daughter and she was extremely rude and unprofessional, she would make very horrible comments with her very rude tongue and after 10 lessons I changed instructor because of her disgusting behaviour.
I would not recommend her to anyone if you want to waste monet then go Ahead. She doesn't boost confidence of her pupils, but in less always makes excuses.”
“‼️DO NOT RECOMMEND‼️ Paul Grahamslaw - Harrogate/Otley/Leeds instructor. Wasted a year and a half of my time and over £1500 in lessons to then tell me he wouldn’t lend me his car for the test. I used to dread my lessons and he made me feel like I had no chance of ever passing. He ruined my driving experience completely and when I changed instructor I realised I actually learned nothing from him. He didn’t take me on any test routes until 2 weeks before I was due to take it. He told me “we need to focus on manoeuvres so someone else needs to teach you to drive” so what was I paying this instructor for??! I changed to another instructor and the first time I got in their car they said “what on earth has this other instructor done to make you this nervous” 4 months of being with them, I passed and now I love driving.”
“I had a bad experience with one of the instructors at bill plant, she would always reschedule and push back my driving lessons by 1 or 2 hours and she took 2 days after pestering her to send a refund.”
“I passed my test today 2nd time my instructor was really nice, patient and motivating. Best instructor I had and he believed in me he knew i could pass my test easy. His name was Musa. I would 100% recommend him if you want to get on the road quick.”
“I had a terrible experience with an Instructor and I learnt nothing he was a time waster however as soon as I changed to a different bill plant instructor she is amazing She gave me so much confidence driving if you book with bill plant and are given a bad instructor do not be afraid to change instructors asap”
“I had a very good experience with my instructor in Wolverhampton. I have just passed my test and I can honestly say he is the best instructor I could have had. I tried another company and woman was so rude, late, on her phone and verbally abusive. Thank you Bill Plant!!!!”
“We booked a 2 hour lesson with bill plant to kick start learning to drive. He had already had some independent lessons to try to get used to stopping and starting. For the full two hours, the learner was left to start and stop around a car park, with no road experience at all. On their website they state that you will be taken to a quiet road to get used to the controls. I understand that as a new driver, caution should be taken, however it is unheard of that the full 2 hours will be contained to one small space with no road experience at all. Once the lesson finished and he was driven home by the instructor, he was told that the next lesson would be an even higher price. It is fair to say that he did not have any further lessons with this company and I would not recommend anyone bothers as they are a con. If we had been told that the plan was to take him to a carpark for two hours, we wouldn't have gone with them. £80 down the drain. He has since been with another independent driving instructor who took him on the road first lesson and he learned more with them in 20 minutes than he did with bill plant in 2 hours.”
“I wouldn't recommend Bill plant
I paid for 10hrs lessons however they sent me a message saying I should pay another 500 for insurance. I told they I cannot afford to pay such amount as it was not stated in the first place. Now they are refusing with my money .
Total waste and unprofessional”
“I had been recommended an independent instructor but went with Bill Plant (West Didsbury, Manchester) as I had hoped we'd be able to purchase lessons by block. I was also impressed that they had been voted Best Driving School this year. My son had over 60 hours of lessons from December to August running up to his test (which sadly ended up being postponed by the test centre). Two weeks before his test his instructor (to whom we'd paid well over £2000 by then) contacted him to say that he didn't feel he was 100% ready and suggested he cancel his test! We were so shocked and he was of course immensely disappointed. We hadn't kept a record of lessons and I asked several times how many he'd had but his instructor for some reason seemed reluctant to tell me. It seemed like the time had come to move on to a new instructor,if only to get a second opinion. Bill Plant however said they weren't able to provide one, which I found surprising, so it meant we had to look elsewhere. He has just had his first lesson (one of 5 running up to his new test date) with his new instructor and what a difference! He is much calmer and more pragmatic and believes that our son is more than capable of taking his test. What is more, we were able to pay for the 5 lessons in a block for which we received a receipt (unlike the £80 cash demanded by the Bill Plant instructor before each lesson) and as soon as he returned received by email a self reflective account of the lesson. Suffice it to say we are really disappointed with Bill Plant's instructor. Of course we had no idea at the time not knowing what to expect, but it is clear that he was stretching out the lessons.”
“Ridiculous instructors expect 48 hours notice if you want to rearrange a lesson and if you don’t give them that they either take hours out of your prepaid plan, £80 worth of a lesson or they charge you a fee?! They’re not busy and they’re not missing out if you cancel the lesson a day before instead of two. A joke. And overpriced. £40 an hour?!”
“This is the worst experience of driving instruction I have ever seen. My granddaughter has had a few lessons fro Gary Maher . Apart from vaping and drinking Red Bull in the car he cancelled at the last minute without telling her , expected payment in advance even though he had previously said he accepted cash on the day and gave no indication of progress or plan towards the test . Very unprofessional and upsetting for a young person to have to endure . Appalling!”
“Take your money upfront tell you that your instructor will be in contact within 24 to 48 hours. Nothing called to ask why no communication told they would give the instructor a nudge and if I didn't hear to call them next day!! Still nothing and then received a text to say sorry instructor fully booked and to fill in a form with what we needed. No sorry I don't pay over £80 for a 2 hour lesson and because they can't accommodate I have to do the work for them. A courtesy call would have been a nicer way to explain, told sorry and they would see if another instructor would be available but couldn't give a timescale on an answer... refund thanks and would not recommend.”
“I'm shocked to hear, how one of your driver instructors instructs his pupils, whist on lessons he's on his mobile, turned up once for a lesson with his leg in a cast, surely this could put both the driver and learner in danger.
No constructive learning prefers to just take the learner on a straight run every lesson rather than show them manovers in stead of building confidence with the pupil he has continued to put the learner down, even before the lesson starts he as managed to say a negative comment
I must add the learner is able to take constructive criticism but after several lessons the driver as managed to make the person feel belittled. There are other red flags that have cropped up over time
I feel as a driving school you should have some accountability towards the teaching of your pupils, your instructors should be there to teach all pupils regardless of how they may learn, and not just take them out on a straight run each lesson they should work towards building a good relationship with the learner insuring they will have the ability to complete the lessons with confidence and work towards the learner being able to eventually pass their
lessons through a good instruction process not a bad experience.
In the past I felt Bill plant was a good driving school to recommend but with some of the driving instructors that really seem not to care enough, I feel I could never recommend you as a company to anyone in the future.”
