“Just bought it and it won’t sync up to my phone, out of the box. Have been going through troubleshooting w/their cust ser people. I think I will have to have the device replaced. Their communication is ssslllloooowwwww! It takes 2-3 days for them to answer an email. Bluetooth is pretty standard now. You would think that they would have this down. So far…disappointed.”
“I love the ability of the biostrap to measure arterial elasticity and does a better job than the oura ring at measuring O2. However a few things can be improved. The charging dock is of poor quality. the cable does not stay in the charger and needs to be pushed in each time. The biostrap itself does not sit securely on the charger and is easily tipped over, unlike my apple watch which has magnets securing it. The biostrap has straps that are too long and made of a material with too much friction to easily put on the wrist. I find it too much a hassle to use when compared to my apple watch and oura ring. For now I cannot recommend the biostrap to my patients. The software does not sync as well at times with my iphone. The battery level should be displayed on the main page and send out reminders to charge before bed if there is not enough battery.”
“The replacement didn't work either. I would have loved to talk with someone. Since I had to wait for replies, I got frustrated and returned it as well. I have heard great things, I just didn't experience it.”
“Woeful experience, device had trouble connecting from the get go, would take dozens of attempts to successfully pair in the app. Then each night it would lose the connection, and when I finally managed to reconnect the next day it would have no data from that night. Tried on two different iPhones, same problem. Support was abysmal, it would take multiple days and often multiple messages to get a reply, and when they agreed that the device was faulty and offered a replacement they also informed me that the 30 day window where a refund was available would not be extended from when I received the new device. This basically forced my hand to get a refund instead of trying a replacement. For a company that markets their products as top of the line, and charges prices that reflect that I'd expect a lot more, 0/5 stars.”
“Overall, I am pleased with this product and would give it an Excellent rating after some minor improvements. I love the fact that it has sensors and is actually measuring things rather than extrapolating results. That said, I often have gaps in data recording (particularly SPO2 that last an hour or so. This also occurs with HRV. I wish that the sleep graph attempted to separate out REM rather than just 2 categories (light & deep). I wish that the band was more like an Apple Watch band making it easier and more comfortable to wear. The purchasing experience was not as smooth as it should have been, and I wish that the online chat help was more robust and responsive. There is much to unpack with this device and the tutorials and online help could use some improvement. The web app is pretty good but, can be confusing .. for example, why do I not receive Temperature data? I suspect that I need another device for this but, my point is that it can be very confusing. All in all I would recommend this and have found the data to be quite useful to me to manage my health.”
“Not so happy with my Biostrap! I didn´t know that I would always need to have my mobile next to me. When I turn off Bluetooth, it takes till the afternoon to get the sleep data synchronized etc. I think the data are very approximate but not real.
For me as a European, it was not a good idea to buy in the USA. I had 100 Dollar extra charge for shipping and Taxes.”
“Hello, since we want to apply the research program, we have hold a meeting with Biostrap VP Bob. However, during the discussion, they noticed that my PPG receiver is actually broken because no data can be found in the backend system. Thus, they told me that Biostrap can send a functional werable to me. Since I know Bob has so many trips recently, do you thinik that customer service of Biostrap can handle this tiny issue for me ?”
“Very disappointed in the strap. My first strap broke, then I was sent a replacement, but black wasn't available so I didn't have a color a liked. It was starting to wear out, so I ordered this new one (in black). I felt the price (not to mention the 50% shipping charge) was ridiculous. In about 5 weeks, the edges of the surface are already showing signs of wear. Inferior product at an exorbitant price.”
“Biostrap helps me track my lung functions as I’ve had a double pleurectomy and pluradesis. I also use it to tack my activity to make sure I’m on track. Biostrap, your the best!!!”
“It doesn't fit smaller wrists particularly well and it seems to not always catch when I am asleep. For instance, if I wake up at 7 but sleep until 9, it will catch the first sleep but not the second round. I would be more excited if it was more comfortable on a smaller wrist.”
“This is honestly not for your product, as I haven’t had the proper chance to test it out. This is for your absolutely terrible customer service. I have written you twice without getting a proper answer on my request. Really a shame that you would like to have a reputation like that when your product does seem great - again, without having fully tested it. If you have any pride in providing great customer service, I hope you review this and improve. I most likely won’t speak highly of your company.”
“My sleep is highly irregular. I often use RXs, supplements, scotch, and/or loud music to help me drift off - but I have trouble ballparking actual sleep vs just laying in bed. Now that I'm using my Biostrap, I both know and track my sleep metrics. I can now start associating time-to-fall-asleep, sleep quality, and sleep efficacy (recovery) with all my personal and environmental factors. I start recording sleep in the app when I lay down so Biostrap even reports how long it takes me to fall asleep every night, along with when I wake during the night (and for how long) and tracks me as I drift between light and deep sleep.
Biostrap is providing a plethora of useful information and all I have to do is put on a surprisingly comfortable wristband (I'm not a watch wearer) before getting in bed. After aggregating half a month of my data, it's now providing recommendations for sleep routines. I can see daily, weekly, and monthly trends and even compare my actual sleep vs Biostrap's recommendations based on my vitals. I definitely made the right choice with Biostrap to discover my sleep metrics. If I stop being a couch potato, I'll get to check out Biostrap's fitness capabilities. For now, I'm just thankful to get accurate data on my sleep.”
“The wristbands are cool, but one of them have broken after only a few days. The know holding the strap in place has already fallen out.
Maybe this in one the sensors don't come with these original straps anymore?”
“I am initially using the sleep analysis function. Being Bipolar Type II and a life long insomniac i want to better understand my sleep patterns.
Next I plan to get into activity tracking.
My wish is 24 x 7 vitals monitoring. I am 65 years old with partial artery blockage.
I will research how to share data with my psychiatrist and my medical doctor.”
