“Visited the Brindley Farm Restaurant todayThursday 7th April to celebrate my birthday with my family.
I was not impressed by my whole experience.
There was not a member of staff on the reception, await of around 8-10 minutes before we received any attention.
There was a number of people waiting at the bar for drinks.
We ordered from the menu 3 rump steaks with accumpients we were advised there was a wait of 20 minutes .
We waited for an hour and then approached the bar and was advised the meal would be about another 20 minutes.
An hour passed but still no meal.
We again approached the bar and complained, a member of bar staff went into the kitchen, a wait of another 5 minutes.she came out with the meals and took them to our table with apologies saying they were short of staff. I enquired if the manager was available.
The meal which cost Β£13 pounds each was disgusting, the chips were dry as was the onion rings the egg yolks were hard, It looked as if the meal was thrown together in a hurry as if the order had been forgotten and certainly was not worth what we paid.
The young manager came to our table and apologised and told us it was due to staff shortages and she would refund the price of the meal. I showed her the meal and asked if she would pay Β£13 for this meal, she said no she would not.
I donβt blame the staff and I felt that the situation was down to young inexperienced staff.
I also visited the ladies toilets on the way out and they were disgusting as well, one toilet was out of use and the other two were dirty.
I got talking to another lady and she told me they had the same experience.
A table next but one to us left three meals untouched with a fork jammed into the vegetables as though in disgust.
I have used this restaurant many times but never been as disappointed as I was today.
My personal feeling about this was the staff are far young to cope and not supported enough was more experienced staff.
It will be a long time before I visit again.”
“My wife kitchen π curry scare with rice and chips π when it was served the rice and chips π π were cold we asked for it to be redone. My Cheese Burger π and chips π were look warm.
For some reason the standards are dropping”
“Booked a table mid week , host Andy was great, drinks arrived one being a tea served with a breakfast side plate and no saucer. Starters arrived after 30 minutes, my husbands soup splashed all over the bowl and a rim around bowl where it had been standing waiting to come out. Cleared starters eventually then waited and waited for close to an hour no main course. Spoke to Andy who was helpful but said would be another 15 to 20 mins, we hadn't got time to wait for work reasons, we booked at 12.30 now 2.10pm and nothing. Given a full refund but not the point it was a birthday lunch. Staff not consistent all over the place, one minute doing table checks and then in a daze stirring the gravy on the carvery, having worked for 20 years in restaurants felt there was no organisation but a free for all with the front of house. Disappointed.”
