“Canadian Tire has removed all reviews from their website. For kitchenware, they stopped carrying many of the well known brands and started carrying more of their own in-house names. Since removing the product reviews from their website, it's now impossible to see which of their products are great anf which one are absolute garbage. For having removed the reviews from their site, I've now made up my mind and will simply buy from Amazon. It's been a great 35 years of me trusting and shopping ar Canadian Tire. Since they can no longer stand behind the quality of their products (remived reviews), I'll simply bring my consumer dollar elsewhere. Thank you Canadian Tire for making the experience of shopping at your stores a worse experience. You have done the reverse of improving; your corporate greed and coat cutting has cost you another loyal customer.”
“Canadian Tire Auto Service at 700 Lawrence Avenue West, Toronto, potentially could have endangered our lives with two serious errors! 1) A flat tire was poorly repaired and went flat again within a few hours. 2) That flat tire was repaired by plug and patch, even though the puncture was on the shoulder of the tire, contrary to industry standards and guidelines. A new tire should have been recommended. Three independent tire experts who saw the repaired tire confirmed that it was an unsafe repair and very dangerous.”
“I made a 3:30 pm appointment a week earlier with Canadia Tire Service center to change my summer tires to winter tires.
While waiting in the service sitting area my wife and I started speaking to the lady sitting beside us that made the 4:00 pm appointment that same day.
2.5 hours later, I started speaking to her and others service customers in the sitting area to see when they booked there tire appointments. I got anwers of 4, 430 and 5 pm. Then another customer said I didn't have an appointment today I just came in.
Sure enough the customer with no appointment was done first. Then the 4 pm appointment customer was done before us as well because she came in earlier then 330 pm.
So now it's 6 pm and my daughter is calling my wife to see where we are as we had to pick her up. Etc. We told her were still at Canadian Tire since 3:30 waiting for our tires to be switched.. we ended up paying for a taxi to cone pick her up and bring her home cost us 25 dollars.
Finally, job is done. I ask to speak to the manager. His name was" EARL." I told Earl I was speaking to everyone in their service waiting room and asked him. Why did your 4 pm 430 and drop off customer finish before us today that had the same work done as us. Earl said he wont let the shop sit open its first come first serve.
I said when I booked this service appointment with their advisor . I just got a new hip 14 days ago and I had to pick up my daughter at 6 pm as well will I be OK. He assured me I would be fine.
Earl and I went back k in forth for 5 minutes and at one point he riding said I don't take about your appointment or that I just got a new hip or pick up my daughter. I'm not giving you a discount for waiting for my time, for the taxi nothing... At one point Earl was so rude I asked him to slow down and BE NICE...
In closing, what I learned today about Canadian Tire Service department is they don't care about their customers time,or if their have disabilities or other appointments that day. It's all about Earl and Canadian Tire and how much they can make the shop that day.
So with my other vehicle I called CAA to change my tires and they did. Cost me 70 dollars and I didn't have to leave my driveway. I went to Canadian Tire because I dont have rims for my snowtires. Saying that I'll be buying rims next year and getting CAA to do both tires. Also so customers know Costco tires are so much cheaper because their whole house is so much bigger so they buy tires and bulk and pass on the saving to their customers. Plus rotation and balancing of tires are free for the duration of the tires life.
In closing Earl... you need to take some courses in how to speak to Canadian tires customers. Because there time matters too. Canadian Tire you should be ashamed of yourselves for treating Naive disabled people the way you did last night. So you know... your service department parked my car at the end of your lot. With my new hip it take me 20 minutes to get to it. Canadian Tire representative call or email me to discuss further I'm very upset with you and Earl.”
“I just bought an expensive sleeping bag from Canadian tire and it said I would get 18.00 dollars in CT.. Money. But that CT Money only applies to my next purchase. Well.. I don’t think that’s fair… your pushing me to wait to use it on my next purchase. I just spent 511.00 on this purchase and should be allowed to use that CT money on my big purchase and feel like I saved on that item and not have to wait till next time. I just don’t think that’s .. FAIR… you should be allowed to use whatever CT Money that comes with that purchase”
“Horrible Return Policy. If a box is opened they can do exchange only. I bought a Panasonic microwave oven, which started giving technical problem in 3 days. They did a favor to give me by issuing a store credit that expires in one year. My $350 are stuck. A golden rule: buy pots, pans, plants, pesticide or something that has lesser chances of being returned, never buy anything electronic from them.”
“Last week we were in Whitby south store. We had an employee by the name of Kurt and he was extremely helpful. He worked with us until we found what we needed. Today we went back for something else and were lucky enough to get Kurt again. What a great young man. You have hired a good guy.”
“I had a very frustrating experience at Canadian Tire, Heartland Town Centre (5970 Mavis Rd, Mississauga). On Nov 29, I was told my brakes needed repair. I returned on Dec 1, but the technician wasn’t there. The staff rescheduled me for Dec 2 at 12 PM, but when I arrived, the manager told me they didn’t know when the technician would arrive and asked me to wait.
This lack of communication and poor scheduling is unacceptable. How can staff show up without informing the manager? It wasted my time and left me feeling disrespected as a customer. I expected better from Canadian Tire.”
“I bought a dual pack of headlight bulbs for my wife's car, and after purchasing them at checkout, I started to leave the store, until a lady cashier at the next checkout yelled across at me "Did you pay for that ???" I had the item and recepit in my hand and said "Excuse me ?" She repeated her comment...so I shiowed her the item and receipt which were clearly visible. I was embarrassed by having other customers stare in my direction as if I was a thief, I was not happy with this treatment as if she wanted to know if I'd paid for items, all she had to do was ask "Excuse me sir, can I see your receipt ?" Needless to say I left the store embarrassed and annoyed at what had happened. I got my car but decided that no way was I going to accept this treatment, so I re-entered the store and spoke to a young lady, asking if I could speak to the manager. She told me that she was the manager, (Radikah), advised me that she was the manager, but to be honest, she seemed less than interested in what I had to say, and as she was talking to another employee at the time. Now, having owned 3 of my own businesses, customer service and the treatment of such, is paramount to me, the young lady who checked me through with my purchases (Toni) was very nice, but the older lady with all the make up, who basically accused me of trying to leave the store with unpaid items, was less than courteous or professional, and she is in need of retraining in due to her obvious lack of people skills, not to mention some manners and how to deal with people respectfully. I spend about $1500 - $2000 annually in Canadian Tire, but I shall take my custom elsewhere unless I hear that something has been done to rectify this situation. The store in question is the locations at: 6312 - 200th Street Langley BC I look forward to hearing from someone in authority, who can advise that this has been handled correctly, and to my satisfaction. I want nothing more than to be treated with respect, I look forward to your response. The ball is in your court.”
“Janessa at Preston Crossing Canadian Tire in Saskatoon was amazing. She helped me place an order for a treadmill. She made sure everything was correct with the order and went above and beyond in my opinion. I would go to this Canadian Tire over the other one in Saskatoon every time due to the better service there.”
“Today I went to the auto centre and the young lady I an asked her where to wait and she looked like her energy is gone and she responded me without opening her mouth!
I didn’t know what she said without looking at me and speaking from her throat not from her mouth. I wondered and asked a guy and that lady heard me when I asked him then suddenly shouting at me that I told you already! I was shocked!
But the other two ladies who were serving me was normal. They do their job . I respected both of them!
The first person was full of short tempered and scary person that the way her actions how she responded me and tune. She has to change her behaviour or she needs behaviour management, a counsellor.
She seems treated me like I am in the wrong place!”
“No wonder Amazon is kicking Canadian commerce on the bum!
Ordered something on line.
Waited two days to get message to pick it up.
Got a message that my order had been cancelled, because they did not have the product. ?? I had checked and they had two in stock before placing my order.
So now I have to go to a farther store to get my vacuum cleaned!
With this kind of service, Amazon is getting the clientele.
Wisen up Canadian Tire!”
“Canadian tire in Kincardine is always under staffed. Also ,when trying to return something they can not always find it in the computer, keep your receipts. Never buy Noma lights, they stop working immediately.”
“Visited our local store a few hours ago, the service we received was beyond incredible.
Tracy, the first person we met as we entered the store was unbelievable..not only did she help us, she actually got what we needed..herself, put fresh batteries in the tree so we could the lights better, she also helped with other things..Christine our check out gal was also superb..it really didn’t take a lot of effort to be cheerful, kind & oh so helpful..All this at noon hour today!

“Bough new tires a month ago and they were so overtoutqued that my mechanic couldn't move 1 bolt to take them off to put snow tires on. I had to take the car back to CT and they said that they were maybe a little tight, but came off no problem. I literally watch my mechanic use a super long extention bar and air gun and couldn't get them to move so this manager was lying to my face. I have never had an issue with using Canadian Tire tire services before, but the practices they are now using to save time makes the service extremely sub par now so I won't be using them again. Do better Canadian Tire!”
“I brought my car in for a diagnosis. They called me an hour later to say that the brand new throttle body was the problem. I told them that it wasn't but I would have had better luck convincing a concrete wall. There machine said that there were 2 throttle body codes, therefore it must be that. So I exchanged the brand new throttle body for a brand new throttle body and the car's issues weren't fixed. 180 dollars for them to plug in there machine, print out what there machine says and not investigate any further. If you are reading this, d9nt go to Canadian tire. If you look into there reviews you will notice they are all negative. It's not a coincidence. I found M&L auto to be honorable and trustworthy”
“RE CHRISTMAS WREATHS ONSALE
WARNING. False or misleading advertisement and products not as shown
MEASUREMENTS MISLEADING INTENTIONAL?
Thankfully I did not purchase online due to I would of had to return as item not as shown or described. But visited nf store only to be combated by a jacked up manager and his associate tag teamed the fact that the measurement is round not width then showing me a mini sized version of on line sale item MISLEADING?Bait and switch? So called30 inch wreath
This including trying to convince me that the 30’ which appeared 18”was a size down from another marked 36’ which visually appeared three times bigger?
And saying ITS WHAT THE BRAND TAG RELAY in other words argument appose to helpful all while associate seamed to revel in the debate. It was a very unpleasant & uncomfortable experience.
All due to misrepresentation of descriptive features on line misleading
. Where it COULD OF RELAYED THE WORDS “width “or “round “ in noting the measurements but not at all in product features
I asked too why lite wreath product were not displayed for customer viewing he while standing in the middle of every other Christmas light up display relayed they would not be able to afford the lighting bill !? if he did so 😳 VERY COMBATIVE AND CONDESCENDING
I DID NOT PURCHASE! I will not be attending this store again due to treatment of these two men
Again misleading info on line or trained too miserable to sell , especially Christmas items! Signed customer lost !
Date of experience: November 02, 2024”
“I can’t believe what happened to me. Between myself and my business I’ve spend over $120,000 in tools and ladders/bakers scaffolding… I recently bought a mastercraft sir compressor and after 3 uses (2 work weeks) it completely stopped working. I went in with the receipt and they turned me away with a contact number to a repair shop in Lefray, Ontario which is almost 2 hours away from my home and 3 hours away from my job site. The box is plastered with the once trusted “Life time warranty guarantee”
Definitely didn’t expect this from one of Canadas most trusted companies at one point.
Unfortunately I’m out of luck with employees depending on me tomorrow to get things done right and done on time.
Do not waste your time with their fine line promises. Home D**** has plenty of options that can be trusted and reliable.”
“After buying 30 sets of Xmas lights for $19.99, I went back to buy 9 more at $14.99. I came back to get a credit for the difference as stated a 90 days return policy. They refused my request as the sale price ended even though I came back a week later. I have purchased $1000’s of dollars on the Canadian tire credit card. This tells me how they don’t care about a long term customer. After 45 yrs of going there, they will lose a customer for good. One request in 45 yrs on a pricing issue. So for $45!they lose me. Plus they over price items and always offer sales to where the actual price should be. Go elsewhere!!!!”
“Yesterday, I visited the Canadian Tire store located at Eaton Centre. Canadian Tire Employee - Roger (Employee #0600) - was outstanding in helping me and assisting me find the items I needed. Roger was polite, attentive, hardworking and even helped me find a product that was at an improved price that worked within my budget. Thank you Roger for your great customer service! I truly appreciate it.”
