“3 Issues at Canadian were not fixed and was charged- refused to refund $259.00
1. Got new tires at Canadian Tires - From the moment I drove out of the parking lot the car was shaking violently, When I got home I called Canadian Tires to advise of the experience. They advised they did not balance the wheels. I went back and got the wheel balance - no change - still shaking violently. Went back they charged me to do an analysis and charged me more then the balancing of the wheels. The analysis advised it was the steering wheel was the issues and it would cost around $1500.00. I advised it was not the steering wheel - That I got a second opinion and it was the balancing. They refused to release the car until I pay the amount for the analysis - No other garage charges for an analysis. There were a 3 issues with the work they performed - I did pay the amount and called the head office. After a few conversation with the manager - about the shaking of the car, the charge for the analysis and the work they did on the wheel they advised was leaking - he advised to take the car to another garage and he would refund me for the charge. I did the issue was fixed with the shaking of the car, the wheel was no longer leaking. I advised the manager - Now he refused to give the refund. It has been about 6 months going back and forth.”
“*Canadian Tire Orillia* We purchased as tote to store our Christmas tree in that as advertised would fit up to a 7' tree. The purchase was on Dec.21 however after taking down the tree, we discovered it would not fit in the tote. Tried to return it, this first week of Jan, 2026 to find out they will not return it cause it is "Christmas" related to which returns for such ended Dec.17 (4 days before I bought it). At the bottom of the receipt it says no returns on Christmas Decor (which it is not), trees (which it only relates to tree) and lights (not applicable) after Dec.17. Considering the its a Christmas tree, one would think most people leave it up till after Christmas. There was no signage where the totes were stacked for display stating they were final sale, the cashier never said anything but apparently there was a sign at the cash (like I was expecting to look for a "final sale" sign before Christmas). The customer service staff stated that it is noted on the bottom of the receipt but call me crazy but to get the receipt, I had to pay at which point it would have been Final Sale. Had I known I would not have bought it till I was sure it would fit.”
“Tried to find out why I could not link my triangle rewards card to my account. The number I was told to call was not helpful as I could not get a human as the call was discontinued when I selected speak to an operator. It's 2025...get a system that works!”
“Never Again Will I Use Canadian Tire Services!
I went to the Canadian Tire store in Kelowna, BC, for a simple front wheel alignment. They took my vehicle into the shop and kept it on the hoist for 3–4 hours. After all that time, they told me that my 14-year-old Toyota truck was “not qualified” for a wheel alignment.
Instead, they charged me $130 for a vehicle inspection that I never requested. Along with that, they gave me a long list of recommended repairs that supposedly needed to be done before they could perform a basic alignment. The list included things like an oil and filter change, wiper replacement, and headlight replacement—items that have nothing to do with a front wheel alignment.
The total cost of their recommended work came to almost $6,000. To me, this feels like a scam. Anyone who owns a 14-year-old truck knows it will need maintenance—but that wasn’t what I came in for.
In the end, I wasted four hours of my time and $130 without getting the service I actually requested.”
“I stopped taking my car to Canadian Tire Milton because they were over-charging me for brakes. Their brake jobs were only lasting me 22,000 kms. Over the last 70,000 kms they charged me over $4,300. When I complained to head office they told me there was nothing they can do about it because each location is independently owned. There are a number of highly reviewed mechanics in Milton, that I found through a google search, so I will start taking my car elsewhere.”
“They broke 2 of the wheel stud and charge me 288 in addition to getting my tire changed. and the only thing the manger said was "didn't they call you". I told her all they said was it's 26 dollars for the part and she just looked at me without words.... such a damn scam”
“Three weeks ago I bought new tires for my truck---they put the wrong tires on, obviously reading is not required for the job but their tire tech is real good with insults, today I bought a new battery, installed it and it was stone dead. I'm in my 70s and I do not need to go back to get the right work or even a product that works, 2stars is being overly generous”
“Never go back Canadian tire auto shop location country hills blvd ne!
Cheating behavior, Cheating Manager :Wahed Sahar ,this guy is handsome, but from his heart: stingy, lying, cheating on customers lying to his head office.
Built fake story
Over charge way too much!
Please do not go to Canadian tire auto shop!”
“Canadian Tire is decent but not amazing. They have a good selection and some items are good quality. But I found prices to be inconsistent and sometimes higher than expected. The store staff were helpful, but the checkout line took a lot longer than I thought it would. Overall: satisfactory but nothing special”
“I went into the store to pay my Mastercard the lady working customer service made me hold the phone as it was on hold extremely lazy and unprofessional she had no other customers to serve her name is Jessica at the orleans branch.”
“I wanted to share my recent experience (Sept 2025) at the Canadian Tire on Mavis and Britannia, specifically in the auto parts section. I went in to purchase a ball joint for my Nissan SUV.
The staff member was helpful in checking the computer. However, when he brought the ball joint to the counter, it was already out of its box, and the plastic wrapper was open. I noticed the plastic looked yellowish, which suggested it wasn't a fresh package. I was surprised and asked why it was open, and he said he had just opened it, which didn't seem right.
I felt uncomfortable buying an opened product, as you can't be sure it's complete or hasn't been tampered with. I decided not to buy it and left the store.
I've been a customer of Canadian Tire for over 25 years, and this is the only time I've had a negative experience in the general store or with the staff. I will still be a loyal customer, but I hope the store reviews their policy on selling opened auto parts to customers.”
“I hate when you waste my time. I came in for q simple oil change. They said they will start on in 15 minutes and 30 min for the oil change. I come back 45 minutes later and my car is still sitting outside untouched. Took 1 and 45 min when i was promised 45 min. Last time I'm using Canadian Tire for anything at all. Didn't even bother to let me know, so i wouldn’t waste my time. Imagine sitting there for almost 2 hours in the horrible waiting room. 407 and Dufferin.”
“24 years ago I decided not to have business with Canadiantire due to their attitude. Still they haven't changed their dirty attitude. No smile and, 'get your service or get lost' attitude.
Yesterday I went to get a safety standard certificate for my car at Maple Canadiantire. I brought the car at 9am when they opened the workshop. He told me it will be $226 and he will call me when its ready. Until 5 pm he did not call me. Luckily I came to see what was happening when they were closing. The guy told me I can take the car and get the alignment done and come back and there will be an additional charge of $72 + tax. I asked him why the alignment was not done, he said his machine was not working. I have to pay $226.00 for the inspection, $226.00 for alignment and $72 for his machine not working. What a rip off !!. I would have never gone to Canadiantire but I had no choice. I am going to take this up with the ministry of transport.”
“Customer service, worst ever!!!! Just dont buy nothing there, the stress, unresponsive, sarcasm e employees . Terry, Jessica and manager Stephen, passive aggressive , just Awful:(((”
“We went to the store at Islington and Rexdale in Etobicoke and we found the staff especially Jag and Joe very professional and well informed. They said they owed it to the wonderful training at that store. Jag and Joe keep up the good work! We need staff like you at all stores.”
“Not at all. I am furious having bought 3 Bissel machines one up right cleaning machine, 1 upright vacuum machine and a pet spot machine and I want immediate attention. Being of senior age we cannot indersand the Lingo so I would like better machines and do not deserve this type of service and would like this matter taken care of as soon as possible. I was going to pick up 2 patio chairs which I now had put aside but now have second thoughts”
“I paid almost 200.00 to have diagnostic on my car .Five and a half hours later they told me they didn’t know what was wrong with my car and told me to take it to the dealer. AND they still charged for the diagnostic. Canadian Tire Dartmouth Crossing. I feel that happened because Iam an elderly woman”
“The whole experience made me very happy. All staff I spoke with were helpful and pleasant to do business with. Deepika, went above and beyond when she ran out to the parking lot to give me part of my purchase I had left behind and my Visa card! Keep up the good work CT”
