Our carpet was due to be fitted on the Monday and we were only told this wasn't going to happen on The Saturday (2 days prior to the job). The new fitting date we were given was 11 days later which I considered very poor, considering we had already waited over 3 weeks! We were not offered any compensation until I expressed my dissatisfaction; this was a £40 flat rate offer, not dependant upon your complaint. If the delay had been a couple of days I would not have been happy but more able to accept this. It was suggested that I speak with customer services who have not been very interested in my complaint and just confirmed they only offer £40 - take it or leave it! We have not bought carpet through this company before and as with a lot of other customers, not impresses with their service and therefore very unlikely to go back to them again.

The products available all seemed fine. I liked the fact that man made materials look so good, wear well and resist stains. However I think their policy of subcontracting the fitting is a cop-out and very unfair. The surveyor/estimator came to my home. He looked at what was to be done, we discussed the open stairs and the fact that I wanted the same carpet throughout the house. He told me how the open stair carpet would be done, There was no problem. I ordered the carpet and paid in full. However, I was away in France when the fitter came. Apparently he had a terrible time trying to fit the carpet to the open stairs. Said it was virtually impossible and that it had made him ill! When I returned it did not look at all as I'd hoped. The fitter agreed but didn't want to come back and redo it. They couldn't find another fitter who would fit an open stair! So I was offered a 'fitting charge' refund of something like £60 (when the fitter had taken all day?) plus some carpet which I was advised to find someone else to fit!? Furthermore they fitted the wrong underlay! I only found out after all the furniture which had been in storage was back in the house! I could have cried! Instead I just walked away and fumed. I'm still angry!

My local store - Carlisle - All going well, until I queried £29.99, on my 'itemised' receipt. Firstly, I was told, Carpetright, charge EVERY customer, £29.99. I received no explanation why. I asked again. This time, I was told, it's part of the fitter's bill. Absolute rubbish, as fitter is a separate transaction, by paying the fitter, once flooring is down. Third time, I was told, it's the cost of delivery, from supplier, to store. It was the Manager I was dealing with!!! I was, & still am, fed up, & annoyed, by this time. Also, itemised, to me, means everything I pay for, is listed. I also expect V.A.T., to be on the receipt/invoice. It wasn't. I had also been charged 10% of fitting price, without my knowledge. No mention of it during transaction. I requested a full invoice. I am still waiting over 2 weeks later. More phone calls/visits, for me, then! Never again, will I, or anyone I know, shop there. It's too stressful, costs more money - phone calls, & trips back & forward, to store. I ended up getting in touch with Customer Service. They were helpful, & actually listened. I'm now having problems with the flooring. ARGH!!! Here we go again.

When the guy came to fit the flooring he did not have the beading to go around the edges. Then when I returned home from work the beading (that turned up after a few phone calls) was in a right state where the nails had been hammered in. Whilst inspecting the nails I noticed that there was a chip out of the laminate and a loose board. I was told it would have to all come up as the flooring was faulty. 3 weeks later the same man turned up and changed two boards and the beading and said that the two boards were faulty (why he didn't notice first time around?) but the rest were fine. Not really the best experience although the floor does look nice :)

wrong carpet on two occasions. carpet fitter was so rude and unhelpful to us as the store had short paid him from the money we had paid up front so he refused to be helpful and was very begrudging in having to fit the carpet for us. now waiting to resolve getting a replacement carpet as store assistant has told us you cant guarantee getting carpet same colour as your OFFICIAL sample they send due to the batch of dye that they use so whats the point in getting a sample to match your decor. stress....stress...stress. i am not having one enjoyable moment and have already paid nearly one thousand pounds for my carpet to them and still have the wrong carpet in my house.

Ordered a stairs & landing carpet plus beading for my laminate. Waited in all day Monday 23/1 - Afternoon fitting 2:30 pm - no communication from fitter - morning wasted. Fitter arrived with no beading so I said I would not be paying as the amount I had been advised to pay fitter was for the whole job to be completed. Carpet Fitter was very rude about this. Arranged Thursday 26/1 fitting for beading 5pm. Fitter did ring 30 mins before arrival (My 2nd wasted day) Wood fitter arrived - did beading - no door bar to cover gap between cloakroom & hallway. 2 weeks to order door bar (had been missed off my order - like how is that my fault I did discuss?) Anyway arranged fitting for Thursday 9/2/17 - waited all day - no show a problem job. Arranged Friday 10/2 - between 10am & midday - no show. Saturday 11/2 morning - by lunchtime - no show. Monday started work with new employer after a 2 year break - Was with previous employer 20 years so you can imagine how stressed I felt anyway! I wasted more than 18 hours waiting for someone to arrive, Door bar finally fitted Wed 15/2. These events wasted my last few free days & loads of extra stress Stairs very poor standard, Such a shame as the wood fitter did a good job & also laid a bedroom carpet (both good). Have had Carpetright for a previous stairs carpet & a lounge carpet & both occasions good job done. I would now be very reluctant to chose them again after the 2017 nightmare. This is a pity as I had been really happy with previous experiences of them.

Bought a pack of 'rug slip stop' but it doesn't do the trick. John Lewis pack is a couple of pounds more but does the job.

After buying a new house I got quotes from two places to fit carpets upstairs and laminate downstairs. I decided to go with Carpetright in Carlisle (BIG MISTAKE). With both the guy who measured up and the guy in store I discussed that I needed the door bars also. The salesman asked me how many doors there were and he stated I didn't need one for the living room as the flooring who run through to the hall but I would need for the others. Fitters came and guess what? no door bars. Called store who just kept blaming it not being on the plans and I would have to buy them. Customer service from store was TERRIBLE. Called customer services who were in fairness very good. They spoke to store and got me them at a discounted price. Overall I wouldn't advice anyone to spend their money in this store.
