FOR POTENTIAL BUYERS.. im ex employee of carshop... prep centre Leighton buzzard.. firstly all managers are milking the company hopefully sytner do an internal investigation... if you want to buy a decent car look else where .. or I recommend a brand new one on lease as the deals are always great - but take before & after shots of vehicle. Cars sold in carshop forecourts arrive at the prep centre -there they carry out all repairs from mot to paint work - all work is rushed & parts used are pattern parts meaning non-genuine... besides that it’s not just carshop it’s most dealers .. it’s profit before safety- there was good staff there all terminated or left or in fairly dismissed.....

Bought a car from car shop today mostly happy but had to wait around for 4 hours before everything was completed. Scott was very good with his customer service but felt he didnt explain a couple things very well. He did try to get us to take out finance although i had told him it wasmt required. On the whole he did well. Another gentleman Marc went the extra mile for us that no one else did he did a great job.

Paid £13,000 for a Nissan Juke back in June 2022, Took out a 3 year service plan. Few weeks later I had the car smelling of cigarettes, Am a non smoker. They agreed to have the car back and Change the pollen filter and fragrance bomb to get rid of the smell. Fast forward 12 months, Car returned Swindon for Major service. They discovered an oil leak from the timing chain casing, The pollen filter cover missing? Why was this not reported when they changed the pollen filter weeks after buying the car? Seems like the filter cover and oil leak has been over looked. Pollen filter cover £70 and to fix the oil leak near £500.

oid unless you want finance We went here to have a look around at their cars for sale , all the cars are fenced in and you have to go in through the sales office ….. this is where the experience begins !! They sit you down , ask you what you’re looking for , you say you’re not sure but something like a ??? They then look for that model , tell you they haven’t got any of them here but could get you one ….. all the time asking for numbers / email addresses and greeting every reply with the word ‘perfect ‘ …. Then they explain they the finance they offer is regulated , you say you don’t need finance and they show you anyway !! Then they go away to see the manager , to “ see if he can help “ which really means to tell him you don’t want to go into debt and won’t be convinced to look at cars you don’t want !! Eventually we were freed to lol around the pitch , to see cars over priced by 3 or 4 grand compared to similar cars for sale …. A very very uncomfortable experience altogether

Don't normally leave poor reviews but I feel the need to to this due to the lack of service and advice given when I bought the vehicle. First of all I bought my car with the understanding that the vehicle was fully serviced upon collection and I believed the salesman when he told me it was all done before I collected. The vehicle has now developed an engine management fault which when I took it to an authorised Nissan retailer they have said it needs a Re-gen of the DPF and needs a Fuel filer and air filter to fix the fault. When I said it shouldn't need the filters as its just been serviced, The Nissan dealer then told me that the parts are old and have never been changed. When I spoke to the in-experienced member of staff at the car shop she basically told me that I would have to foot the bill for the diagnosis to fault find the issue which baring in mind I purchased an extended warranty with the Car shop and anyone in the same situation would get it booked in to find out what the issue was. Anyway the in-experienced member of staff then told me that I would need to pay for the service that they should have done in the first place. I've been waiting three days for a call back from a manager and these clearly have no intention to call me. It feels like once they have your money they are not bothered what happens afterwards. So I've paid £120.00 diagnosis plus now I need to get the vehicle serviced again which is a further cost to myself when it should have been done in the first place. Poor

The worst experience i’ve had! Brought a car (VW Polo) almost 6 years ago with the extended warranty i paid extra from. When things went wrong i couldn’t get hold of Carshop and paid over £3k worth of repairs. Brought another car (VW Golf), had the car 6 days and broke down. They have repaired the car, which i’ve asked for a refund on the car. Now they are holding almost £6k of my money and continue telling me i will get call backs, yet conveniently there is no one around to deal with my refund

I went to pick my new car up and it hadn't had a valet the number plate was still hanging off , the faulty tyre had allegedly been changed but since getting it home I find it hadn't been changed , there wasnt any car mats in or fire extinguisher as advertised, I asked about these things and they assured me I would receive them . I had a 3 month warranty with the car.. I rang the Carshop and told them that I couldn't run the car because of the faulty tyre and because of the pandemic would my warrenty start when the pandemic was over because the car is sat in the drive because of the pandemic restrictions and the tyre that keeps deflating , the lady on the phone told me that what ever I report in the 3 months I could get done when they open for business but she couldn't answer my question about the warrenty starting after the pandemic, still waiting for a call ..

Wasn't a good experience buying off the Bristol branch. The initial appointment to view the car was taken by someone who seemed to have no idea about the car and couldn't answer any sensible questions. I was then made to wait to speak to a Business Manager for some time after agreeing to proceed with the purchase. Altogether we were in there at least 2 hours just to look at and test drive a car (at no point was a drink offered and I had to ask in the end). There was also a hard sell on some vehicle paint protection which was irritating and OTT. After paying my deposit I returned the following week, again sat down with Business Manager to pay and be sold VAP (which is way overpriced if you compare online - don't buy it!) after I paid for it all, I was then dumped in a seating area for over a half hour, actually waiting to pick up my new car. I felt like they took my money and then couldn't care less. Not an enjoyable experience at all. Upon getting home, I realised there were no fitted mats (as advertised I might add). These are over £100 to buy/fit so I was disappointed. I got in touch and was told they don't advertise mats as included (which they had), but they luckily had some I could collect. As it is quite a distance from where I live, I asked to post them, which I was told would be too expensive. In the end, I have bought my own, but it shows a complete lack of ownership be denying any knowledge of the ad and then not even offering to be flexible to post them. I expect more when spending £28k on a car, they could at least stump up £10 delivery charge on the mats. Would not use again, and in fact wouldn't have carried on after the first appointment had they not had the exact car I wanted.

seen a car online, i knew exactly what i wanted so i booked an appointment for the following day, Aldi was great and talked us through everything, i decided to go ahead and part ex my audi a1, although there was nothing wrong with it i fancied a change. signed all the paperwork and drove the car away that day. they couldn’t give me the SD card or any paper work for the car as it was all in another branch, the lady said that they would recieve it in a few days from the other branch then send it to me which was fine, 2 weeks later and i am still waiting. as i was driving home, i live a 45 min drive away from cardiff, a notice come on the dash that i had to change the battery in my key fob, i rang car shop and they said we could either take it back and they would change it or take it to halfords and it only costs about £2, so we chose to take it to halfords and turns out it’s a lot more than £2. anyway, a few after i have the car i notice the seats in the back were soaking wet, i checked the window and it was shut tight, there was no water on the roof of the car and everywhere was dry so i found it very strange where this water was coming from, there is also a piece of metal hanging off from the underneath of the car, i phoned car shop and they told me if it wasn’t dry in a few days ring back up and they will book me in straight away for a saturday appointment (because i work weekdays) and they will sort it and give me a courtousy car while it was being fixed. a few days later it was just getting wetter, i phoned them and explained and they told me they could not book it in for a saturday, it would have to be on a weekday and they couldn’t give me a courtousy car, demanded to speak to a manager and i am still waiting for a call back. very poor service from the customer service team and the after care is awful! i wish i had read the review before going here, it’s a shame really and puts you off going anywhere to buy a new car

Car shop are quick when it comes to sales the service level is spot on after sales service the level then drops. I requests for call back but instead i happen to chase them call after call. When it comes to booking for repairs or vehicle service the staff are nice but overall the service level is appalling and they still don’t do anything to change the level of service they give.

-Friday 14th June 2019- If you’re thinking about buying any car from CarShop, think smart and read this review. The reason this company has ‘5 stars’ rating, is because they quickly ask their customers to write a review (mostly on Truspilot and other websites) before they agree to anything like finance etc. Have a thorough read through the reviews and you’ll see what I mean. Don’t trust the most reviews here, read my awful experience review with CarShop Northampton. I will be making a review video on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram to spread the awareness of this CarShop company. I am 20 and passed my driving test when I was 18. I have been driving a Corsa C 2004 for just over 2 years. Unfortunately, it has failed its MOT on Saturday 8th June 2019. The repair costs are not it worth at all and decided to have a look at cars (I've been researching the cars for many months as I love cars - Golf GTD was my next dream car) After few hours of looking at the cars, checking the insurance quotes and comparing the dealerships across my area. My choices were to either buy a car from Saxon Bridge, or CarShop. Both seems to have good reviews, but CarShop's reviews looks too good to be true. On CarShop website, I found a car that I liked and decided to go to CarShop Northampton to have a look at it. My dad drives, so we went together in his car. When we have arrived there, my dad parked his car and we got out of the car. After searching for a specific car that I saw on their website, I spotted it and had a look around the car. When I was finished glancing at the car, we were walking back to my dads car. A staff walked past and asked if we needed any help, I pointed at the car and told that I would like to have a look inside. The staff brought us inside and waited for a staff to see us. We've talked for few minutes and suddenly, he went to the office and grabbed a key for the car I wanted. This was not what I was expecting, but it was nice to feel welcomed this way. However, it feels like a really quick test drive (5 minutes max), which was not enough time to allow me to proper test drive it, for example, testing the steering wheel to ensure its driving straight and not off the centre to the left or right. Although, it felt quite smooth and nippy. After the test drive, we went back inside the store and talked about admin fees, GardX protection fee etc. Then, he asked if I wanted to buy it with GardX protection and I agreed. I've paid a £300 deposit to reserve the car. I was told to come the next day at 1pm to pay off the car as it was closing very soon. On Sunday 9th June 2019, my dad drove me to CarShop Northampton to complete the purchase of my new car. We've arrived there and we had to wait for half an hour for a manager to finish with their customer. It was so busy on that day, so its understandable and I don't blame them for that. Later, I met the manager in his office, he seems friendly and approachable. We've discussed about extended warranty (they only provide 3 months free warranty, compared to Saxon Bridge providing 12 months free warranty). I am not sure if their extended warranty are fairly priced, but I agreed to pay for 3 years, which costs around £900. I am paying it for 10 months - around £86 a month. Once I've paid for everything, I was then told that I had to wait for a further 45 minutes to an hour before my car is ready to drive away. I was a bit annoyed, but again there were lots of customers going around the store so I sat down and waited. Finally, I was informed that my car was ready and walked to the Collection Point. From there, I had to sign some forms and taxed my car. The staff there were calming. After that, the car was ready for me and handed me the car keys. This is where I was from being happy to unhappy, annoyed and a bit stressed. I unlocked the car and opened the door. As soon as I sat in the driver seat, the seat was soaky and a bit musty. I looked around inside of the car and noticed some dirt spots on the passenger seats (it looked like a dried mud). I wasn't having that since I've paid £299 for GardX protection. So, I went back inside the collection point reception and complained to one of the staffs. He apologised about it and I asked them to re-clean it properly. He said that it would take a 'few more hours'...I replied, "That's fine, I can wait". He took the car keys and I sat on the chair waiting. But, literally less than a minute later, he came back and said, "Sorry, you'll need to come back here at different date." I was not very happy about it and he offered me a small paper stating 're-clean' for my car at different date. I went back inside my new car and started the engine. After driving it for about 20 minutes (my house is about 35 minutes away from CarShop Northampton), I've noticed that the steering wheel is off the centre to the left, and this is the main reason why I wrote this review. There were more problems and I listed them down on my phone. -Steering wheel off the centre to the left. If I hold the steering wheel in perfectly straight centre, the car steers right -Sometimes central locking system in the car doesn’t work (have to press multiples time to get it locked or unlocked) -Front and rear windows wiper blades worn out -Boot door plastic trimming sticking out -Front passenger door handle sticking out (possibly snapped/broken) -Front left/passenger side headlight scuffs -GardX cleaning interior not done properly: passenger seat brown spot, back seats white circle spot. I’ve complained at the collection point before driving it off, they offer me a paper to have it re-cleaned at different date. Pictures were taken. I should have done a full inspection of this car before actually buying the car, but it was too late. Few days later, I had time to contact CarShop via live chat regarding these issues. They've noted it down on their system and I drove to CarShop Northampton on Thursday 13th June 2019. When I've arrived there, this staff called Michael.P approached to me and asked me to sit down with him to talk about the problems. This guy was amazing and made me smile. I have a bit of 'OCD', so I always prefer to have everything in perfectly order, so does Michael! After discussing the problems, he went to have a look at the car and booked an appointment for 19th June 2019 to have the car fully checked and re-cleaned. He told me that if they don't re-clean the car properly again, I am eligible for a full refund of GardX £299. He seems to care more than other staffs at CarShop Northampton. So, today is 14th June 2019 and I am still waiting to have my car's steering aligned and re-cleaned. I will re-review after I get my car on 19th June 2019, hopefully everything will be sorted. As you can see, I drove to CarShop Northampton from Milton Keynes on this new car, which costed me fuel money, and I will have to drive there again on 19th June 2019. I will be asking them to cover the fuel costs (doubt they will as they seem to care more about the money than their customers anyway). So guys...be fully aware before you buy the car, test drive the car for more than 5 minutes to see if you like it or the steering wheel is off the centre. Do a full interior inspection as well as exterior. I will be back on here as soon as my car gets 'repaired' on 19th June 2019.

Travelled over 200miles to complete the purchase and collect a BMW. As agreed at the point of sale, Car Shop Swindon advised that the car was in good condition with no damage. Upon inspection the car had a split in its tyre making it unroadworthy, had not been detailed at all with dog hairs all in the car and the smell of dog very strong as well as a number of stone chips. Car Shop whilst acknowledging the above would not reduce purchase cost for above factors and completely wasted our time as we walked away from the purchase. Would not recommend and would also stress that you need to look carefully at what is covered in the 3 months warranty they provide at an extra cost!

We’ve paid a lot of money for a car which isn’t in good condition. Also, if you take them up on the MOT/service offer… don’t! They do basic basic minimum checks and don’t advise what work should be done to keep your car safe or legal for the next 12 months. Our tyres were weeks away from the illegal limit and they didn’t advise we needed to change them. The alignment was also off which we asked them about as I could feel the car pulling, but they said that it was fine. Thankfully we took it to KwikFit to get checked and they’ve taken photos and evidence to show why it really shouldn’t have passed MOT. We bought this car just over a year ago. Shocking service and selling dodgy cars. (It’s already broken down twice - totally separate to the tyre issue).

Purchased a Q5 last year, after sales is vertually none existent. Reported same problem 3x times. 3x times and STILL problem continues. This company needs to accountable for its after sales. There should be an investigation from a third party, nothing to do with the company and follow up customer complaints. After all without customers there’d be no company. People and their concerns matter, buying a car is an exspensive commitment.
