The person dealing with our renewal of the Regal home contents policy was very helpful and efficient.The person dealing with the renewal of the Castle buildings policy was unhelpful and inefficient.She was constantly going away to check on various matters and because I confirmed that our house ,which was built in 2000, was a timberframed house with an outer wall of stone and cement rendered concrete blocks she then informed me that the renewal premium would be £333.64 instead of £137.17.The form of construction used on our house although timberframed is, as it is a modern house,regarded as a standard form of Cavity Wall Construction and should therefore be covered at normal rates of premium for building insurance as is the case for large numbers of new houses.I have now taken out our buildings insurance with another reputable company at normal rates and therefore will not be renewing our buildings insurance with Castle.However I have renewed our contents insurance with Regal as I was very satisfied with the service from the person dealing with that renewal.

This year because of the chancellor increasing tax on policies then it was obvious that all insurance companies would pass this on to their clients, quite rightly but then to use this as an excuse not to negotiate with the clients over the premium when it has gone up above the price of the cost of living is not acceptable. Also there does not appear to be a standard basis for insuring ones property as it is impossible to compare one quote against another, at the same time it is a waste of time and expense the clients searching round for a quote ?.

Good Morning, having receive the usual influx from everyone and his dog trying to take the business from you, having used you for some time we feel that all is well inn your camp. I had just returned from Holland and I had one working day to sort out my insurance before I traveled to work. So I went with Castle cover because you had all my details and it was quick to sort out. I also left it quite late last year so I went with Castle Cover as well. I notice that your prices are about £50 more expensive than other companies offering the same cover. Next year I will make more time to organise my insurance and use one of the better value insurance companies. Regards. Jim Allen.

Standard buying car insurance online, but paid more than the quote online for the excess payment which I was not too happy about.

Everything was fine. However after I'd taken out the policy, they rang me up using the excuse of letting me know I could submit my NCB online (which I had already done). However in reality it was a sales call where they attempted to upsell me on all sorts of stuff. What the f*** is it about these companies that makes them think they have a right to waste your time just because you've used them for a common everyday transaction. I would also note that EVERYTHING they tried to upsell me on was something I had already declined during the process of taking out the policy. So not only were they wasting my time, but also insulting my intelligence by second-guessing my decisions.

I have not renewed my policy with Castle Cover as I thought an increase in the premium of about 27% rather over the top. I appreciate there had to be an increase but not to that extent. I have gone elsewhere on the same conditions and it is £150 cheaper than Castle. I am therefore no longer with Castle as despite talking to one of the Castle staff there was no relenting on the price quoted. I am awaiting documents from Castle that ensure the policy is cancelled.John Chesterman

As yet I have not renewed my cover with you as current policy does not expire until 17th January. I am reviewing alternatives meanwhile. As such it is premature to submit any rating.

Cheaper price than the renewal notice I received from my previous insurers. Don't think much of the admin, I received three phone calls requesting proof of my no claims discount two days AFTER I had received an email thanking me for sending it!

Premium continues to go up despite no claims. Probably not as good an organisation now that they only deal with one insurer

they were ok until my car failed the MOT then I felt as if I was ripped off as they charged me more than three months premium to cancel the policy.

The price following use of a comparison site was within the norm for this property, the renewal quote at twice this price offered before comparison was unacceptably high

I selected to buy the insurance offered by Castle Cover at around 18.00 Hrs the day before it was due, however the website would not advance to the payment portal. The following morning when I logged on the price had increased by virtually £100.00 ! I then called and spoke to a lady who then spun me a line about prices fluctuating day by day which is basically rubbish, you are just following Sleazy Jet or Ryan Air of jacking the price closer to the expiring date of the previous policy. She then spoke to another member of your staff and agreed to proceed at the price quoted the previous evening. While I understand I think it is just a cheap trick which leaves a slightly sour taste and that is before you have even taken my money. I am also surprised that 6 days later I still have not received any documentation either by email or post.
