“I dont stop cycling just because it gets dark early from fall to spring. The ampp800 is incredibly bright for all the dark country roads I ride.
I actually use it on top of my helmet and use my other older cateye headlight (volt800) on my handle. Not only do they create daylight on dark roads, I ride in the rain and snow(when it's not sticking to the road) and have no problems.
Lastly, their customer care is fantastic. I had a question and the cateye rep replied very quickly and resolved the issue.

“This was a replacement for one that was damaged, so obviously I like the product.
However, your directions pretty much suck....and based on the comments I saw when looking for a u-tube video to help, I'm not alone in that assessment. Mounting & installation are straight forward, but programing with the buttons is confusing and using a phone isn't much better. I'm 73, so what may be what is intuitive for someone younger isn't for me. After a lot of trial and error, and a fair amount of frustration, I got it where I wanted it. It could have been easier with clearly written sequential instructions that were in print large enough to read. For the record, I have a technical background in aviation and I've seen complicated instructions for commercial airline navigation systems that were better written.”
“I spoke with a representative of Cateye with a problem I had with my Cateye 9 Velo which was showing me riding 30 mph when I can't do nearly that on my best day ever. They suggested I get a new sensor. I did and have had no problems since installing the new sensor. Thanks, Cateye!”
