I have been attempting to get the app to work so that I can monitor my installation, but to no avail. I have emailed BP Chargemaster a couple of times seeking assistance, but no help has yet been forthcoming. As such I can only use the installation on a manual basis - which is fine, but not what was intended.

First I will comment that we are in COVID world, however besides the positive support from installation engineer (who replied to an email because I guessed he knew people in office might not), I have found BP Chargemaster customer support 100% awful. Send emails asking for help and no response. Long waiting times on phone to talk to people, many promises to solve and update me. Only the last customer service person did something that really solved the issues. Regarding the unit itself, so far it operates OK but not at kWh I expected. Although there is a lock on the unit to stop unauthorised use, there is no light to say its been locked. Would I use them again..... NO

The actual physical installation was excellent. However, everything else has been a nightmare. An overly complicated process for application of the EV grant, the need to fill in endless forms and present photographic evidence - in most cases more than once, the endless stream of emails from different people at BP each time you communicate, and the links in emails that don’t work all lead me to believe that nobody in BP has a clue about what they are supposed to be doing. I begin to wish we hadn’t ordered an electric vehicle and certainly wish that BP wasn’t the chosen partner for the brand.

Only done one charge from 69% to 94% and my consumer unit tripped ou SIX times! The only other device in use was a standard size fridge-freezer. Totally unacceptable.

Accepting we were in lockdown but it took over 4months to get this sorted. Much of the problem was at the customer service end. The chap who eventually turned up on the day was lovely and got the work done efficiently. I have an issue when I get an email confirming some one is coming to install later the same day, no one turns up, no one calls and when I called BP I was told the install was’ ever going to happen’ as the whole system was on hold. Many, many emails and calls before this didn’t fill me with confidence. A supervisor eventually called, apologised and we arranged a date, to be confirmed by email. I had to ring the day before to ask if the install was going to happen and could they please send an email confirming. Whilst I’m glad it’s all done now, as a customer it was terrible service.

The service was awful. I dealt with a service advisor called Mohammed who barely understood what I was writing and gave a load of wrong info to the electrician that came out. I have a charger, the electrician was good but the admin and the support teams are appalling!!! When I asked for an email address/supervisor to complain to I was ignored.

Wow, so many 5-star reviews- like giving a 13A socket a 5-start review for powering up the TV. This is SUPPOSED to be a smart charger... did any of the reviewers actually try the app? I was given an installation date and contacted by the installer on the evening before. They didn't turn up. Called in and was told that the system showed the installation as 'postponed' and could not explain why. All they could offer was to go to the back of the installation queue and wait again... A day or so after installation, I got access to the online portal and a mobile app. Honestly can say that the app is an utter disaster. (just look at the reviews on appstore for the smartcharge app... I would add screenshots from the APP but, randomly they have used security settings to disable screenshots????). (1) basic functionality is just confusing. It will tell you your car is connected when it isn't and the reverse. It will tell you that the vehicle is connected but the charger is not. (2) it does not indicate if the car has completed charging. It just tells you that it is plugged in, then you have to look at 'history' to see how long it has been connected for x hours/mins. (3) Schedules- well, they are just confusing. (4) EVERY time you open the app you have to type your password in. There is no setting to stay logged in with a fairly secure password this is a TOTAL PAIN. (5) The design is like a 12yr old student has put it together- the menu only appears on the 'account' page and no other. The 'help text' is far from helpful, the FAQ doesn't address the problem, it makes it worse. Just read the text on the screenshot for an example. Customer service are rapid but vacuous, with responses like, sorry it doesn't support that at the moment.

Worst company I can recall dealing with for anything - ever. People nice but the system is shockingly bad. Chaotic, disorganised, inconsistent, - just awful. The actual engineer was good but everything else.....oh dear

My experience with BP Chargemaster has been very poor throughout: - Significant delays in getting a response to my initial application. Though it was submitted in early March, as no installation date was set before lockdown, I did not qualify for the £500 OLEV grant, only the lower rate of £350 - No communication whatsoever as to whether or when the unit might be installed between late March and late May. - Multiple different installation dates issued, with no communication as why these had changed. - Engineer arrived unexpectedly the day before our scheduled installation date. - Following installation, it has become clear that the installed 7kw unit charges my Jaguar I-Pace at less than half the advertised rate. I've logged a complaint and am waiting to hear back from BP Chargemaster on how to resolve this, but so far am extremely disappointed with the quality of service I have received. Unless the currently issues are swiftly resolved I will be advising all my friends and contacts to avoid your service.

We've been waiting since February for the system to be installed - many, many phone calls and emails; last one received two days ago at 7.47AM confirming that someone was definitely coming to install it, yet by 5PM no-one had tuned up. I called and was told that no-one was ever going to come as all installations were on hold and they didn't know when I could expect itl! Promised that they would get back to me by cop yesterday. Guess what. Nothing. Appalling customer service.

Customer service was the worst I have ever experienced and would never recommend BP Chargemaster to anyone, the only reason we went to them was that they were recommend by Mitsubishi which I have spoken to them with regards to my experience. (ATROCIOUS).

I have ordered a charging cable and it should have been shipped within 3-5 working days. I wait for 4 weeks and then at the end the sales person said it’s out of stock

The installation went very well and was completed by a very professional installer in February 2020. However the charger has never worked fully effectively in the two years it has been installed. The schedules on the app don’t work reliably because of outdated mobile technology and have been promised a Wi-Fi unit for the last year which has never arrived. The customer service support is appalling and the worst I have come across. I am in the process of getting a refund but I will be out of pocket since the grants are no longer available. I could not recommend this home charger from BP Chargemaster.

Terrible!very poor after sales. App doesn’t work properly/homecharge charge master web page does not work! Been with them 6weeks only the first 2weeks was satisfactory!! Now can’t download any charges whatsoever for HMRC. Awful for a company as big as BP.

Beware we had post fitted with 2 sockets each after 5 months 3 sockets don't work After 3 weeks asking way i am now told the warranty only covers parts not labour ! At no point was i advised to take out a maintenance contract as i was told the warranty covered all . Also i was told 3 weeks ago they didn't even know where the posts were located after charging me 9k ! Dont use bp is my advice
