About Chilton Furniture:

Chilton is a family-owned, Maine company dedicated to selling fine, wood furniture, all American-made. We are known for our Shaker-inspired designs, and also feature Arts & Crafts, modern and cottage style pieces in solid cherry, maple, ash, walnut, and quarter-sawn oak. We are also known for the quality craftsmanship of our custom work. Many of our pieces can be custom built to your specifications.

Much of our furniture is handcrafted in small Maine workshops, and we also work with boutique craftsmen in New Hampshire, Vermont and the Midwest, many of whom have been partners for decades. All of these cabinetmakers have a Shaker-like dedication to workmanship, function, and simplicity of line and form. All of Chilton’s pieces are built to our high standards, and a growing number are original, proprietary designs.

“So pleased with my beautiful new bed with the rich dark tones of the wood and the distinct grain pattern found in the headboard. So happy with the ability to customize the footboard so that it is low. And so delighted with the white glove service. Thank you, it was worth the wait!”

“Our huge dining table with six chairs and bench is everything that we expected and more. The live edge on the table and bench is beautiful as well as the wood grain. This set is a lovely addition to our new home that we now share with our daughter, son in law and three grandchildren. It is destined to be one of our most prized family heirlooms.”

“Chilton furniture is a great place to do business for the discerning customer.I was finicky and demanding about what I was looking for, & the Chilton people were forthright .They were honest when the product did not meet my needs even if it meant loosing the sale! I will definitely return to Chilton to buy more stuff.I'll recommend Chilton to my friends.Chilton got me customized Shaker benches three months AHEAD of schedule!”

“This was our 4th and 5th purchases from Chilton. I am a remodeler who works closely with a furniture designer. I have built many pieces at his shop and know what it costs and takes to make great furniture. Chilton strikes a great balance between price and quality. We are very happy with our purchases. The design and execution is just right. These are not one off designs, but the next best thing.”

“Upon turning fifty I decided it was high time I have a ‘big boy’ bed. In the end, I went all out, a bed, bedside table and chest of drawers. Choosing Chilton was one of the smartest choices I’ve ever made. The experience from start to finish was remarkable. “We ordered the mission recliner in late January. We expected a wait up to ten weeks. Due to the virus the recliner did not arrive until June. We are very pleased with the chair. Good quality and total comfort. The service, all the clerks, were helpful and extremely pleasant.”

“Furniture is gorgeous but one minor flaw… on 2 of the feet for the media console, the leg caps came off and left behind just 2 nails protruding. Once they put the media console in the TV room I attempted to move it and heard a sickening scratching sound on my wood floor. Result was a deep scratch on my wood floor. I replaced the leg caps with new ones I purchased from Lowes. May want to warn delivery people to check that the leg caps are still in place when they deliver them. It was not something I thought to look for but will so in the future. Otherwise, happy with the furniture.”

George, We are glad to hear that you are happy with you new media console but so sorry to hear about the leg cap coming off and scratching your floor. As a result of your feedback, and because not every customer even wants a leg cap, we are going to be switching to felt (and if the felt comes off, there will not be a nail there that could scratch).
