About Chilton Furniture:

Chilton is a family-owned, Maine company dedicated to selling fine, wood furniture, all American-made. We are known for our Shaker-inspired designs, and also feature Arts & Crafts, modern and cottage style pieces in solid cherry, maple, ash, walnut, and quarter-sawn oak. We are also known for the quality craftsmanship of our custom work. Many of our pieces can be custom built to your specifications.

Much of our furniture is handcrafted in small Maine workshops, and we also work with boutique craftsmen in New Hampshire, Vermont and the Midwest, many of whom have been partners for decades. All of these cabinetmakers have a Shaker-like dedication to workmanship, function, and simplicity of line and form. All of Chilton’s pieces are built to our high standards, and a growing number are original, proprietary designs.

“We bought our first piece from Chilton, and highly recommend the company. I can confidently say we will be return customers! Service was outstanding as well as the exquisite craftsmanship and professional delivery. I’m so tired of bots answering service requests. The human touch and approach was refreshing and made a huge difference. Though initially we felt like price would be a stretch for our budget, our dining room table and chairs are so solid and beautiful that they will surely last for generations to come. Truly heritage quality furniture!”

“This is an exquisite piece of furniture. it is solid walnut planks except for the back and the shelves. The wood is lovely. The light finish brings out the variations in the grain of the walnut unlike most darker walnut finishes. Extremely well made. I dealt directly with the staff at the Scarborough store to arrange purchase of this floor model and shipping to North Carolina for a Christmas present. They did not promise but agreed to try to get it here in time. The shipping company contacted me directly and we arranged for delivery which happened before Christmas in less than month from the purchase date. Delivery was done on time and very professionally. One of the doors was a bit out of true and scraped a bit on the bottom when opening. I contacted Chilton about this and they promptly sent me e-mail instructions on how to adjust the hinges to fix this, which I did. The entire interaction with the people at Chilton was excellent and the jelly cupboard is lovely in our kitchen. We would buy from them again and I can honestly give my highest recommendation for quality and service. “Love our new Metro Chairs that we bought from the Clearance Barn. Sad that this style is discontinued but we did get a discount which was lovely. Customer service was excellent. I wish the warranty applied to Clearance Barn purchases but hopefully these chairs will give us many years of happy dining.”

“I was pleased with the table. The bed, described as having a low profile, was very high. Through a lengthy process, we were able to exchange it for a lower bed. Everyone was pleasant, but ordering and billing were confusing. Finally, the right-height bed arrived. Sadly the wood was not attractive or of the same quality as all the other furniture we have purchased from Chilton over the years. Disappointing.”

All of our standard dimensions are available for each product on our website, and we're always happy to help plan the dimensions for you upon request. When your original bed felt too high, we happily exchanged for a custom lower version of the bed for you. Wanda was very helpful , friendly and obliging with date changes. The delivery team was precisely on time, took great care moving the pieces and inspected them carefully to be sure they were perfect. “Bob and Adam did an excellent job caring for our house during the delivery and setup. Bob gave us excellent information on the care and upkeep of the furniture. We placed the order in late September and were informed that we could expect delivery in January. The delivery occurred on November 28th.”
