About Chilton Furniture:

Chilton is a family-owned, Maine company dedicated to selling fine, wood furniture, all American-made. We are known for our Shaker-inspired designs, and also feature Arts & Crafts, modern and cottage style pieces in solid cherry, maple, ash, walnut, and quarter-sawn oak. We are also known for the quality craftsmanship of our custom work. Many of our pieces can be custom built to your specifications.

Much of our furniture is handcrafted in small Maine workshops, and we also work with boutique craftsmen in New Hampshire, Vermont and the Midwest, many of whom have been partners for decades. All of these cabinetmakers have a Shaker-like dedication to workmanship, function, and simplicity of line and form. All of Chilton’s pieces are built to our high standards, and a growing number are original, proprietary designs.

“Adam and Bobby happily arrived early. They unloaded our four new cherry spindle chairs and cherry Acadia live edge kitchen table and were meticulous every step of the way assembling the legs. The pieces are gorgeous and Adam and Bobby's delivery couldn't have been smoother. Thank you.”

“I’m so glad we found Chilton Furniture! We love our table! It’s beautiful and functional and we look forward to many family dinners gathered around it. We value the craftsmanship with which it is made, and the quality of the wood used. We also value and appreciate the exceptional customer service Adam provided - from answering our questions to walking us through the purchasing and delivery process. My son, when playing under the table, noticed the craftsman’s signature and the Chilton stamp - a marvelous detail that demonstrates, with good reason, pride and accountability and which makes our table lo the more special!”

“Chilton furniture is beautiful and the swivel bar stools were just what we were looking for. We looked at lots of stools before purchasing them and we’re so happy we found just what we wanted. An added bonus was we were able to donate our old stools which will be given to people in need and we received a discount on our new stools. The staff were helpful and answered emails quickly. We plan to purchase additional furniture in the future.”

“Purchased a 3-drawer dresser and nightstand in maple. The quality of the furniture is outstanding; very well constructed, all wood, drawers open and close easily. Very happy with our purchase and the staff and Chilton were very helpful and a pleasure to work with.”

“I'm thrilled with my new Acadia Live Edge bed! It's simple and beautiful. My entire experience with Chilton's was excellent, starting with the salesperson, who took plenty of time with me and thoroughly answered all my questions. The delivery process also went smoothly and the bed arrived exactly on the day it was scheduled. The delivery folks were excellent and put my new mattress on the bed for me.”

“Outstanding product and service! I wanted a new desk but didn’t want something mass produced. I never thought I would own a piece of Chilton furniture but I decided to get exactly what I wanted. I’ve long admired Chilton furniture. Great quality and excellent craftsmanship. Well worth the investment. Prompt delivery and set up. It was worth the extra cost. My office project is coming along and the desk is the icing on the cake. I can’t thank you all enough! I LOVE my new desk.”

“We began our purchase in June of 2022 to accommodate a renovation on our in-law apartment. The renovation didn’t start until February of 2023, and our beautiful dining table and bench/chairs were ready in October but Chilton held our purchase in storage until we were almost done with the renovations. Our dining set arrived and it is stunning! The craftsmanship is extraordinary, the finish is so perfect! We chose a shaker style for its simplicity and we couldn’t be happier with our purchase! No other furniture could live up to our expectations better than what Chilton has created. It is a masterpiece for sure! All of the staff at Chilton Furniture has also been most accommodating and kindhearted. We considered other companies but kept on coming back to the products from Chilton. You’ll never be disappointed by any furniture that is made especially for you by the craftsmen at Chilton!”

“In January of 2023, we ordered a custom made oak, 90 inch, dining room table with eight chairs and a companion buffet. Zak, our Chilton representative, was very knowledgeable and helpful, answering all of our questions, so we could make an informed decision. The furniture arrived in mid-June, a month ahead of schedule. We are very pleased with the craftsmanship and appearance of our dining room furniture, as well as the service that Chilton provided. “I love going to your showroom in Freeport and love the selection on display. Cherry is my favorite wood and there are many beautiful items for sale. If I lived in southern Maine I would apply for a job with Chilton. Over the years my wife and I have purchased at least 10 items and we're very happy with the beauty and quality of everything.”
