About Chilton Furniture:

Chilton is a family-owned, Maine company dedicated to selling fine, wood furniture, all American-made. We are known for our Shaker-inspired designs, and also feature Arts & Crafts, modern and cottage style pieces in solid cherry, maple, ash, walnut, and quarter-sawn oak. We are also known for the quality craftsmanship of our custom work. Many of our pieces can be custom built to your specifications.

Much of our furniture is handcrafted in small Maine workshops, and we also work with boutique craftsmen in New Hampshire, Vermont and the Midwest, many of whom have been partners for decades. All of these cabinetmakers have a Shaker-like dedication to workmanship, function, and simplicity of line and form. All of Chilton’s pieces are built to our high standards, and a growing number are original, proprietary designs.

“I just took delivery of a dining table, six chairs and a china hutch. Beautiful, well-made furniture (well worth the price) and a very pleasant buying experience. Including the sales representative, the delivery coordinator and the white-glove delivery guys The showroom in Freeport is a great place to visit to see displays of their furniture. The sales people are very informed about their products and prices The delivery coordinator handled every detail in a professional and courteous manner I chose the delivery method where they put the furniture in my dining room. The Chilton delivery guys wore masks and sanitized their hands before and after the delivery”

“We had a experience with Chilton! We had a helpful phone call with an associate after we found the piece we wanted online. It was easy to order and book a delivery. The delivery team had great communication and worked to quickly set up our new bed. The look and quality are excellent -- it was a great experience that we hope to repeat with another piece soon!”

“The Shaker Writing Desk I ordered was just as advertised. It was easy to assemble, sturdy, the craftsmanship is outstanding and the color is perfect. The only thing that disappointed me is the lack of rail guides on the two drawers, which allows the drawers to tip downward and nearly fall out when opened fully. As a piece of custom-made furniture, I thought rail guides would be standard. The customer service I experienced was excellent! Questions about products were answered in a timely manner and my sales representative was very attentive and courteous. I plan to purchase more furniture from Chilton and would gladly recommend them to family and friends.”

“The team at Chilton made the entire experience exceptional. The sales team was helpful in confirming our order and working with with the builders to establish the timeframe for completion and provided updates throughout the process. “We love our new Chilton furniture. We bought the drop leaf kitchen table in cherry and two Black Boston chairs for our new condo in Wells. We are awaiting our Bass dining table which will be in in March delayed due to Covid. Cape Neddick chairs suggested by Zack Brunach are beautiful. Wanda who coordinated shipping is very attentive and lovely. We have also bought the Bass Harbor coffee table and end tables for our living room. Love the the beauty of the wood and craftsmanship.”
