About Chilton Furniture:

Chilton is a family-owned, Maine company dedicated to selling fine, wood furniture, all American-made. We are known for our Shaker-inspired designs, and also feature Arts & Crafts, modern and cottage style pieces in solid cherry, maple, ash, walnut, and quarter-sawn oak. We are also known for the quality craftsmanship of our custom work. Many of our pieces can be custom built to your specifications.

Much of our furniture is handcrafted in small Maine workshops, and we also work with boutique craftsmen in New Hampshire, Vermont and the Midwest, many of whom have been partners for decades. All of these cabinetmakers have a Shaker-like dedication to workmanship, function, and simplicity of line and form. All of Chilton’s pieces are built to our high standards, and a growing number are original, proprietary designs.

“What started as a somewhat spontaneous purchase of two became five - these chairs are the right balance of solid without looking heavy, lovely without looking fancy, and the right amount of elegance. They have aged nicely, too. Very pleased!”

“I purchased this desk, bookcases and a filing cabinet almost 8 years ago. I had the desk customized for bilateral hanging files, and after many years of use, I am delighted to say that the desk and other items still look beautiful. From order through to delivery, the staff of Chilton's and the white glove delivery company were a pleasure to work with. Thank you!”

“Well worth the wait. I ordered eleven pieces from Chilton about four months ago. They were very clear about the fact that the furniture would take about twelve weeks (or more) to arrive. The arrangements for delivery were great! I was called, a time arranged, and the delivery men were prompt and professional. They even put the new mattress on the bed! Thanks, Chilton. We love your furniture!”

“Started out on a low budget, and every year replaced a cheap piece of furniture with a Chilton's cherry wood piece. Now I have lots of Chilton's and it lasts forever, or as long as I do. My new Kenzai stool is perfect for my small kitchen. It's the right height to sit on while I paint gnomes.”

“We purchased a new bedroom set in spring of 2019, queen size bed, dresser and 2 bedside drawer pieces. Quality is excellent! We were warned it could take up to 4 months but it came a bit quicker than expected. Delivery guys were awesome, quick but attentive and considerate. A great experience all in all!”

“Outstanding table! Great size for 4 & generous leaves for larger parties. Very well made. Delivered with care. The chairs are perfect. Unique design with a roomy seat. Very comfortable. Pairs perfectly with the table. The table & chairs go nicely with our other Chilton Furniture as well as antique cherry.”

“We ordered several pieces recently. This took some courage, to buy furniture from website photos (We have yet to visit Maine, or Chilton's stores). We should not have worried - every piece arrived in perfect condition, delivered carefully, thoughtfully and right at the appointed time. Pam was very helpful on the phone and eased my mind about buying this furniture without seeing it in person. We love everything we bought, and would not hesitate to buy Chilton furniture again. It is high quality, American made, and sure to last a very long time. The Saco chair has been a pleasant surprise. It may not look comfortable in photos, but I find it very easy to sit on for long periods. Well done!”

“Beautiful bed. Very sturdy. Coupled with an Avocado mattress, the best sleep experience ever. My only complaint is how long it took to get it. Good things come to those who wait, I guess. ;-)”

“This is such a beautiful, simple, design, exactly what I was hoping for. It works with previously purchased dressers perfectly, and I should have done this 10 years ago! Delivery people also were efficient and neat... very happy with the bed.”
