I just had the worst spaghetti bolognaise ever! £6.50 for a meal for one which I purchased in the Morpeth store. In hindsight, I don’t think I would be prepared to pay £2.50 - £2 for this meal. It was so disappointing. I carefully cooked it exactly as instructed on the sleeve, but there was no sauce on it at all. The meat was nothing special, and the amount of spaghetti was well, sadly lacking … I couldn’t possibly recommend it, and cannot see any reason why I would ever want to give Cook another try…

My first experience, and last! Very disappointed with the Lamb Moussaka (£5.95), not nice because it was horribly salty, so couldn't eat it. It ended up in the bin, too salty for the dog! I have had far better Moussakas from the supermarkets for half the price!

I recently bought a lasagne and it was very good so thought I would try a fish pie for two. It was dreadful. The mashed potato had been over whipped and tasted like gluey wallpaper paste. There were several prawns but not a lot of other fish. The whole thing had a very strange taste and a fair bit went into the bin. At over £11 I was expecting better quality.

I have just had a steak and red wine pie (batch number 100011). It was awful. The steak was unbelievably chewy, just going round and round in the mouth like chewing gum. I’ll be careful not to buy any more of your products.

Sweet and sour chicken, add your own rice. Far too sweet, mushy chicken, mainly liquid. Vegetable green Thai curry went in the bin.

Bought Salmon and Asparagus Gratin, cooked by Jacob Barber . Very salty, not a lot of salmon and at best one sprig of asparagus cut into tiny pieces. White wine and lemon sauce was like runny salt water and potatoes on the top were tasteless. Where the cheese crumb was I don’t know. It’s a NO from me .

Just enough food for a toddler in the meal for one chicken lime and coconut.

For the second time I bought a chicken ham and leek pie. I thought on the first occasion that there was plenty of chicken but the sauce and pastry were tasteless so I decided to give it another try with a different set of guests but unfortunately the same result. At almost £30 for a pie I will not be purchasing again! Very disappointed

We used to buy meals from Cook a couple of years ago which were good then the quality went downhill so we stopped. Thought we would give it another go, but it hasn’t improved; the Chicken & tarragon had tough horrible chicken in it. The sauce was very good, but it looks like Cook just steam a load of plain chicken pieces and then just add it to their different sauces rather than slow cook the chicken in the sauce. The chicken was clearly not cooked in the sauce as no sauce had absorbed into it and it was inedible. It’s not cheap either so we can’t see why the meat quality has become so poor. Would add that the member of staff at the York Cook branch was very helpful and friendly. Shame the food does not match the staff quality.

Sweet and sour chicken with NO rice. It's all about buying extras and the prices are already high.

Coq au vin unpleasant yesterday. Stringy slimy chicken and salty sauce. Nasty. Today chicken Dijon. So salty and mustardy didn’t finish. What has happened to Cook. Wanted easy meals as about to go away, these nasty and very expensive. Back to Charlie bigham

What has gone wrong? We have bought a wide range of dishes over the past three years. The quality and taste were excellent. We rated them above premium supermarket dishes. Highly recommended to friends. Recently we have noticed that quality, taste and quantity have diminished. The curries we had this evening were a real disappointment. Sadly you have lost our custom.

Fish Pie for two. Dreadful. Lumpy. Mostly tasteless mash and horrid brown tough smoked haddock. I’m a newish customer and had good mushroom wellington and a couple of puddings which were ok. In future I’ll stick with Iceland.

Just tried to eat the salmon and asparagus gratin but it was so salty we couldn’t eat much of it. Fortunately we had steamed veg to accompany it which had no salt added. We have been regular customers of Cook for a few years but have noticed the meals getting over flavoured- too salty, too spicy, too herby. Sadly won’t be buying from Cook again.

Don't Buy anything Here! O stars as I had to put 1 to be able to write this review. I bought a Shepard's Pie today for me and my husband.. the large one that serves 2.. apparently! @£9.50 so you expect a decent size meal for that price! Absolute rip off.. you may as well say it was a potatoe pie, there wasn't much pototoe either! Barely any lamb or sauce or carrots.. a disgrace really. We were both still very hungry after and very disappointed and angry. Luckily I had a decent portion of veg on the side! Never again. You should be ashamed of yourself COOK'S!! No wonder your shops are always EMPTY!!!

On recommendation I ordered a Christmas meal for 2 DONT BOTHER - total rip off! This was the worst Christmas meal Ive ever ordered the meal for two Stuffed Turkey Breast for Two was nothing like the image the rolled turkey & stuffing was 80% stuffing & 20% meat which was tough – very overpowered by the stuffing mix The pigs in blankets were inedible - so salty & awful flavour Roast potatoes were mushy on the inside like they were bad potatoes when prepared Carrots with Orange & Thyme didn’t taste at all any different than usual carrots I was so excited to try the meal as it had come highly recommended by 3 different people – But never again, I wish I had just bought all my own ingredients & cooked from scratch Plus, wouldn’t have cost as much
