Hi Denis
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and Iโm sorry you are not happier.
Looking at your ad, everything seems good. Your had has been seen over 500 times since it was posted. We do have 12 other ads for Goldendoodles so this may be an issue. Iโve edited your ad slightly to see if that will help.
“My dogs are only of use to potential buyers when they are IKC registered. The vets wont vaccinate and chip them until they are 8 weeks old. This means you are dependent on the IKC to register these pups in a timely manner - this does not happen all the time. Remove the ability to search only IKC registered dogs”
Hi Barbara
Thanks for your review. Iโm sorry you are not happier with the situation. I do know that some vets will vaccinate and microchip earlier, but this is down to their professional discretion.
By law, to advertise a dog for sale, it has to be microchipped and registered.
The IKC processing of applications can take 10-15 business days. We are not in control of how long they take. You should share your feedback with them too.
Your vet may be able to register the dogs online with Animark or Fido and then we can publish the ad faster, so you can advertise while the IKC to do their registration.
“Every experience I have had with Dogs.ie has been positive, I have never had a problem with them, keep up the good work guys and Thank ye for a great service”
Thank you so much for your kind review of our website! We're thrilled to hear that your puppies have found the "pawfect" new home through our platform. It's always heartwarming to know that we're making a positive impact in the lives of both pets and their new families. Wishing you, your puppies, and their new family all the best!
“This site is for large dog breeding establishment 50โฌ for one dog and very little interest, the kerry beagle will soon become so scarse due to design bred dogs
Surely native Irish breeds should be treated differently.
Regards Michael”
Hi Michael
Thanks for the feedback. We sat down as a team and decided to make some changes to help support and promote Irish native breeds. It's something we feel is important and should be promoted more, and we can do some small part. We have put together a mini-website , www.irish.dog where we will list these breeds and show any ads for dogs that are one of the 9 Irish native breeds.
We are also going to add in individial categories, like for the Kerry Beagle, to give them their own space on dogs.ie too.
“I think the company manager is very responsive with any query you may have understanding and responds quickly iv used this company a few times and over all its been a great way to find homes for my pups”
Hi Lucy,
Thanks for your review. Legally dogs in Ireland canโt be advertised for sale until they are both microchipped and registered. So announcing litters is not allowed for example. Microchipping can generally happen at 6 weeks at the youngest.
We had to add in the 7 week rule as people were sadly microchipping and registering dogs early and then selling them before the 8 weeks. This is dangerous to the puppies health and well being. While selling early isnโt something you would do, we had to add a rule because of some peopleโs rush to sell a dog.
We hope that from 7 weeks is a happy medium of enough time to find a great home for puppies.
“Far too expensive to post an ad.
Lots of hoops to jump through before you're allowed to post the ad.
I could go on more, but to make my review short - I just simply have not had a good experience using this site.”
Hi Anon
Thanks for your review. Iโm sorry you didnโt have a better experience. Prices for ads are upfront before you post, so there shouldnโt be any surprises.
As we donโt know what other issue you are relating to, here are some general points: we verify accounts by email and sms to cut down on scammers using our site. The rules on having microchip numbers are legal requirements in Ireland. The other ad requirements are mainly there to help you create a great advert to sell your dogs.
“It was far too complex to advertise on dogs.ie. It was only two weeks after I tried to advertise that someone helped me to get my ad on and at this stage the puppies were older than when I wanted to advertise them. It is also far too expensive. I was unaware that a boost also cost so much. I sold no dogs on it. Very disappointing.”
Hi Lorraine
Thank you for your review.
There were 2 reasons we couldn't publish your ad straight away, neither of them were on our side. And at the time we explained both, but here they are to be clear:
1) as you had 8 dogs to sell you needed to register with the Department of Agriculture, this note is also mentioned on the terms and conditions of the website
2) by law all dogs need to be microchipped and registered before they can be advertised. This is also stated in our terms and conditions.
Currently we have over 50 ads for Golden Retrievers, so competition between breeders is high. Despite that your ad has been viewed over 600 times since it was posted.
Ad prices are clear before you pay for the ad, so there shouldn't really be any surprises about the cost.
We hope you start to get interest for your dogs soon.
“Would like to take the chance to thank everyone at dogs.ie excellent service.. yes I would recommend dogs.ie to my friends my ad went up last Sunday and I've sold one pup already I only have one left' so thanks again to all at dogs.ie”
“Very bad never seen it is bad.just have to wait and see how I get on most of the time it was very good just after Christmas maybe people just trying to get back to normal not interested in pups yet”
Hi Erin
Thanks for your review and Iโm sorry you are not happier. Looking at your latest ad, I feel like better pictures will help you some more. You can upload up to 10. Photos of the dogs in a well lit room , playing with a toy may work better.
Sales of puppies do slow down after Christmas. Hopefully you will get some interest in the coming days.
“I find Dog.ie very professional . Paul is a gent happy to help and very quick to respond . The site itself is very good it is the only site to recommend”
