Hi Paul, Thanks for your review. I'm sorry you are not happier. Your ad was seen almost 450 times. It could have been that your dog was priced a little high at €900. I'm glad you did find a solution for rehoming in the end.

Hi Niall, Thanks for your review and I'm sorry you are not happier. Your ad has been seen almost 400 times and 5 people have sent you messages through the website, you can check them at https://dogs.ie/messages Looking at your ad, I'd say some work is needed on the photos. You can upload up to 10 images, and you've only put in 3. The images you've added also seem to be old so I would try to post actual images of your dogs. Please contact us if you are having issues with your images.

Hi,,because the breed of dog I have advertised is rare,,,people won’t look for them,,,but if they photos were put up every few days on front page,,,they would see them,,,they are now gone back too far….and it’s too expensive to keep paying for the boost of advert…Maybe it would be fair to pay for the boosts after 3 or 4 weeks….regards Marian Hayes…

Hi Marian, Thanks for your review and I'm sorry you are not happier. We have already tried to help you through our support system, and you even said "thanks a million", so a 2/5 is a bit of a surprise. Anyway, looking at the ad, I think they are priced a little on the high side for cross breeds. You can edit the price at any stage. I'd look at the other doodles to get a better idea of pricing.

Hi Sally, thanks for your review, and I'm sorry you are not happier. I spotted and fixed the typo in the ad title, you are always able to edit this, by going to "My Ads > My For Sale Ads , and then clicking on Edit . If you email support@dogs.ie with any other changes we are happy to amend the ad straight away as you see fit. I'm not sure where you saw €40, our pricing page https://dogs.ie/pricing mentions €50 which includes the Irish VAT rate of 23%.

Hi Fiona, Thanks for your review and I'm sorry you are not happier with the website. Looking at your ad, it would be priced at the upper end of German Shepherds, even despite their pedigree , see https://dogs.ie/sale/german-shepherd?other=ikc Your ad has been seen almost 400 times since it was posted, hopefully you will get some queries, but you may have to adjust the price.

Hi Eamonn Thanks for your review and I’m sorry you are not happier. Looking at your ad it’s been seen over 600 times and you’ve gotten a few messages and calls about the dogs. You could try expanding the description of the ad a bit or adding more photos. You can bump the ad back to the top of the listings. It costs €12 and will bring your ad back to the top of the page and add 5 days to your advert.

Dogs.ie completely has the monopoly on dog & puppy sales. €50 is far to expensive to charge people to advertise a pup(s) to then be restricted to only 2 or 3 add bump ups @ €12 per bump. This is a ridiculous charge to bump up the add nor should you be forced to then re-advertise for another €50 when you have used your 2 or 3 bumps & if you have failed to find the right home. At the end of the day, it’s not just about seeking enough money to justify the work you’ve put in but most importantly finding the right home!! At a cost of €62,€74 or €86 per add there absolutely should not be a 3-4 week time limit on your add. Sometimes pups sell quickly, sometimes extremely slowly and everything in between. Overall I find dogs.ie very disappointing & not a positive experience. Donedeal was far superior and adds were €4 not €50.

Hi Anon, Thanks for taking the time to leave a review and I'm sorry you are not happier with things. There are other website sites to list your dogs for sale, searching for "dogs.ie alternatives" will show you at least 10 other websites. Our prices are public and upfront, so there shouldn't be any surprises here. Plus this isn't your first ad with us. I can't speak to DoneDeal, but we pride ourselves in giving fast response times. Your last query was replied to in under 20 minutes, we couldn't give this level of customer service at €4 / ad price point I'm afraid. Looking at your ad it's been viewed over 1,000 times. This is generally adequate for finding an interesting buyer. The price you had set was a little high for a cross breed, at €700, this is also probably a factor. We did just extent your ad for another week as it wasn't selling, hopefully this will be sufficient to find him a new home.

Hi Paddy, Thanks for taking the time to leave a review and I'm sorry you are not happier with the experience. Looking at your ad you only have 2 images of the dogs, can you add a few more? You can upload up to 10 images on an ad, and ads with more images do better, as it gives potential buyers a better idea about the dogs you have. ~ Paul

My dogs are only of use to potential buyers when they are IKC registered. The vets wont vaccinate and chip them until they are 8 weeks old. This means you are dependent on the IKC to register these pups in a timely manner - this does not happen all the time. Remove the ability to search only IKC registered dogs

Hi Barbara Thanks for your review. I’m sorry you are not happier with the situation. I do know that some vets will vaccinate and microchip earlier, but this is down to their professional discretion. By law, to advertise a dog for sale, it has to be microchipped and registered. The IKC processing of applications can take 10-15 business days. We are not in control of how long they take. You should share your feedback with them too. Your vet may be able to register the dogs online with Animark or Fido and then we can publish the ad faster, so you can advertise while the IKC to do their registration.

Too expensive for the amount of views you get per day I use other apps where it’s 3 to 5 euro and I’m getting double the views which makes it easy to sell

Hi Jay, I'm sorry you are not happy with your experience. I do see you got some messages about the puppy you were selling. We charge the same price for 1 puppy, like what you have, or if it's a whole littler. We are not aware of any other Irish sites that get more traffic than us, your ad has been seen almost 600 times. We'd love to know what sites they are, if you can share the info. Your ad is also displayed on our sister site puppies.ie for puppies under 6 months old.

Hi Theresa, Thanks for your review, and I'm sorry you are not happier. It seems strange that people would contact you just to waste your time. Were they trying to haggle on price ? Or learn about more information that's not in the ad ?

Hi Phil, Thanks for your review. I'm sorry you are not happier. You can bump your ad to get more attention and bring it back to the top of the list. I do know it's harder to sell older dogs. We do have a dedicated site for older dogs, and your ad is on there www.adultdogs.ie

It took 5 days for my ad to be posted making my dogs for sale a week older

Hi Anon Apologies about the delay. I don’t see a support ticket question from you about this at the time. You can email support@dogs.ie at anytime for help. Sometimes delays in publishing are due to the fact that we are required by law to wait until the microchips are fully registered before we can publish the ad.

The price is excessive for just an advert, it’s also annoying to €9.25 on vat alone

Hi John Thanks for your review and I’m sorry you are not happy with the service for what you paid. VAT is set by the people in Leinster House, so we don’t have control of that one. Our prices are upfront before you paid for your ad to list the six dogs you have, so there shouldn’t be any surprises. We do have costs to maintain staff for example, looking at your account, we helped you to register with the Department of Agriculture and when you sent in your ID we had your ad turned around in less that 5 minutes.

Hi Anon, I'm sorry you are not happy with the response to your ad. Looking at it the price does seem to be on the high end, and as you are selling a 7 month old puppy, you may have to drop the price to get some interest.

The Advert is too expensive for a short period of time it is up before you have to pay more if you don't sell your animal within this period. This would be the view of a lot of people who have spoken to me about their dealings with dogs.ie and been too expensive.

Hi Dermot, Thanks for your review, and I'm sorry you are not happier with the experience. Looking at your ad it looks like you closed it already, and it's only been live for 6 days. If you need extra time, please reach out to us to extend your ad. Generally we find 30 days is more than enough to find a new home for a dog. Even in your case the dog was 20 months old, that is harder to re-home compared with a puppy. Prices are upfront before you advertise, so there shouldn't be any surprises about the charges involved.

I’m not sure if this is a fare review because I know times are hard financially at the minute. I found it easy enough to post the ad, but I only had one person enquiring about my pups and they were a dreamer. I wouldn’t recommend this site due to the lack of interest.

Hi Stewart, thanks for your review and feedback. I've done a few small formatting changes to your ad to see if that will help. I see we are still waiting on the IKC registration to be processed, do let us know once you get that so we can update your ad, this will also help your ad stand out , and be featured on pedigree.ie Prices, especially in the Republic, have fallen in the last year or so and the number of litters advertised (9) in the last month does mean you are competing against other breeders for attention.

Hi Sandra, Thanks for your review. I'm sorry you are not happier with the experience. When you posted your ad you chose to post the dogs for sale with our VeriPet system, that adds an extra layer of security to your ad by sending the registered owner of the dog an secure code by SMS to verify your ownership. This extra step can take a few additional minutes. I hope you found great new homes for your dogs.
