“The website is extremely hard to use for people who haven’t used it before very poor response rate from advertisements individuals using the site seem to think that they can barter for dogs like they would a handbag or rug on a market in Spain not understanding the difference between why there is a difference in price between a long hair version of a breed and a short hair version”
Hi there,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We understand that navigating the website can be challenging for first-time users, and we appreciate that you brought this to our attention. We’re constantly working on improving user experience and your feedback is crucial for that. If you can elaborate on more specifics about the issues you had we are happy to have our programming team look at it.
Regarding the pricing discussions, it’s not uncommon for people to be unsure about the differences in breed pricing, but we do strive for transparency in our listings to help clarify those aspects. If there isn’t flexibility on price we are a happy to add that to your ad for you.
There are 32 open ads for Dachshunds, so there is a bit of competition between breeders for buyers attention also. Your ad has been seen over 900 times in the last two weeks. If you are not getting enough interest, you can bump th ad back to the top of the listings for a fee of €12, this also extends your ad by five days.
If you have any further suggestions on how to enhance your experience on our site, we’d love to hear from you.
Warm regards,
Team dogs.ie
“Way way Overpriced. overrated.
Money scam. No buyers. And wanting more money to bump.
Ridiculous. Got more enquiries through my own FB page!! Shocking service.”
Hi Sabrina,
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. I'm sorry to hear that you feel our service is overpriced and not delivering the value you expected. We strive to create a platform that benefits both sellers and buyers, and we genuinely appreciate your feedback. Looking at your ad it's been seen over 400 times in 5 days, and one person has already sent you a message.
Your ad price, for non pedigree registered dogs, may also be on the high side. Please reach out to us if you'd like some more suggestions on how to sell your dogs.
Regards,
Paul
“Very expensive to list a dog, a rob at €50, you are forcing people to either list dogs on black market sites with your extortionate pricing to list a dog, ill be submitting feedback on this to social media and informing friends and family.”
Hi Alan, thank you for sharing your feedback regarding the cost of advertising on our website. We do value your input, as it helps us improve the experience for all our users.
I understand your concerns about the expense, and I would like to point out that the advertising fee is made clear upfront before any listings are placed. We believe in transparency, which is why the cost is always highlighted during the listing process to ensure there are no surprises. Saying we robbed you is a bit far fetched.
That being said, we appreciate that everyone has different needs and expectations when it comes to selling pets, and if our pricing didn't align with your expectations, we completely understand if you may have considered alternative platforms or selling your dogs directly.
If there's anything we can do to enhance your experience moving forward or if you have any further suggestions, please don't hesitate to let us know.
Hi there,
Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry to hear that you feel our response was lacking. We aim to help all our users connect effectively, and we appreciate your thoughts on our visibility. Your ad has been seen over 1,000 times and we see you did get some interest. Older dogs, and your dog is 4.5 years old, can be a bit harder to re-home, we do know that.
If you still have the dog, please reach out and we can try to work with you to see how we can help.
Warm regards,
Team dogs.ie
“This is my third time using this site and I’m at a loss to try understand why some people think it’s a car auction site. I’ve been very reasonable with my price for the dog advertised and people still want a life for almost nothing. If I don’t get what I want for the dog I’ll refrain from using this app/site again. All animals are a life and people pay well for the use of this site so if the people logging in to look at an animal aren’t serious about the animals they are looking at, then why bother 🤷”
Hi Dermot,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I completely understand your frustration with the price expectations you're encountering. It's important that every animal is valued appropriately, and it can be disheartening when potential buyers don't recognise that.
If you haven’t already, consider updating the photos and descriptions in your ad to better highlight the dog's qualities. Sometimes a fresh perspective can attract more serious inquiries. I do know that it's harder to rehome older dogs, and prices tend to be lower, so that's something to also consider.
We appreciate your feedback and hope you reconsider using our platform in the future. We're here to support you, and we want to help connect you with the right buyer.
Warm regards,
Team dogs.ie
Hi Patrick, thank you for your input. I'm sorry to hear that your experience hasn’t met your expectations. We strive to connect dog lovers with suitable pets, but sometimes it takes a bit of time and the right exposure to find the ideal match.
Looking at your advert, the price you’ve set is likely too high for non-pedigree puppies. We did see you got one private message about your ad. Please reach out to us at support@dogs.ie and we can try to help you further.
Hi Sridhar,
Thanks for your review and I'm sorry you are not happier. Looking at your ad , you should really add more than 3 images of the dog, this will help people get a better idea of the dog. Also looking at the price, being fixed at €850, you may need to be flexible on this. The dog is over the young puppy stage, and you would be compared against the prices for a young puppy. It also may be an idea to include why you are rehoming the dog after a short period of time.
Please reach out if you need any more tips.
Hi Jim,
Thanks for leaving a review and I’m sorry you are not happier. Your ad has been seen over 700 times in 5 days and you have gotten some messages, so a 1 / 5 star review seems a bit harsh if I’m honest.
Looking at your ad you should really expand on the description to talk a bit more about the breed and their temperament . I would also recommend adding some more photos of the dogs, you can add up to 10. In your ad you only have it set that people can contact you via the messaging system, ads that display a phone number tend to get more calls.
Hi Dale, thanks for your review. 1/5 stars, seems a little harsh, especially when you have gotten calls and messages about your 4 dogs. Looking at the ad, I would add in more images, you can have up to 10 on the ad. We have cleaned up the formatting in the ad to make it easier to read. If you need any more help please contact us at support@dogs.ie
Hi Anon, I'm sorry you are not happier with your ad. Looking at it there has been over 650 views of the advert in the past 4 days and 11 people have asked to see your phone number. As the dogs are a cross breed, it may be an idea to add in some information about what you believe their temperament will be. Please contact us if you need any more help with the ad, support@dogs.ie
Hi Aishling,
Thanks for your review and I’m sorry you are not happier. Our pricing is clear and upfront. It is linked from every page and just before you list your dog for sale. There shouldn’t have been any surprises.
If you weren’t happy with the price, there are other options for advertising your dog for sale that you could have maybe considered.
Hi Anon,
Thanks for your review and I'm sorry you are not happier.
Looking at your ad, you are selling a 1 year old dog, generally the price for them would be reduced, compared with puppies, even for pedigree / IKC registered dogs. You may want to consider the price. Please contact support@dogs.ie if you need some help with your advert.
Hi Anon,
Thanks for your review. I'm sorry you are not happier. Your ad has been seen over 300 times since posting. Looking closer the IKC registration for the dogs hasn't processed so this might be why there is some pushback on your price of €1000 for your dogs. Once you get the registration back please let us know and we can update the ad for you.
Our pricing is clear and is linked from every page. So there shouldn’t be any surprises. If you weren’t happy with the price, there are other options for advertising your dog for sale that you could have considered.
Hi Colm
