Michael
Thanks for your review and I’m sorry you are not happy. Selling older dogs, like your 1 year old cross breed, is definitely more difficult as there is significantly less demand. I’d recommend you had more images to your ad, you have 2 listed but you can add up to 10 to give people a better idea about the dog.
The price for an ad is upfront before you pay for it. So there shouldn’t be any surprises about the cost to place an ad.
Please contact us at support@dogs.ie to get some more ideas about how to help find a home for this dog.
Hi Anon,
I'm sorry you are not entirely happy with things.
If you need more time on your ad or help with the ad, please contact support@dogs.ie and we can try to help you find a new home for your dog.
Hi Eugene
I’m sorry you are not happy with your ad. It has been seen over 300 times since it was posted.
Your ad is under the general terrier section for your Wire Haired Fox Terrier puppies. It’s really not the best to have your ad in a breed category on its own and it’s less likely to be found. We only get a handful of Wire Haired Fox Terrier ads each year so adding an extra breed wouldn’t really help you, it’s best to have these rarer breeds in a general category.
Looking at your ad is recommend adding in another few images. You have uploaded 2 to your ad. Ads with 4 or more do best. You can upload up to 10 images.
“I think things are slow in general but I've had just one time wasting response, the time the add is online for is too short especially for this time of the year sales are slow”
Hi Louise
I’m sorry you are not happy with your ad.
One tip could be to enable your phone number to be shown in your ad, it’s been seen over 450 times since the ad was posted 4 days ago.
Over the extra warm bank holiday weekend we would think that more people were enjoying being outdoors and the weather rather than planning on visiting breeders to see dogs for sale.
If you bump your ad it also will add additional time to your ad.
Hi J,
Sorry you are not 100% happy with your ad experience. Looking at your ad we have a few pointers
1) Images: You can add up to 10 images, you've only added 4 far, so I"d recommend adding some more if you have them.
2) Competition : We currently have 29 other ads, also selling Frenchies, so there is a bit of a competition between breeders
3) Price : Your dogs may be on the higher side of what we are seeing being sold right now
4) Phone number : You have not enabled your phone number to be visible in the ad.
Please contact us at support@dogs.ie and we can help with some of this.
Hi Anon,
Thanks for your review, and I'm sorry you are not 100% happy with things.
We had to lock descriptions as people started selling different dogs in the same ad once they were sold. This led to issues with ads with inaccurate information. If you contact support@dogs.ie at any time we can update the description with any changes you need.
I'm sorry you are not happy with our pricing, we do share the costs publicly before you purchase an ad, so there shouldn't be any surprises. The cost of an ad has not changed in almost 3 years.
“Thanks for asking for my opinion. I have given dogs. ie only 1 star. I have not received any responses or inquires from my advertisement with you. I have found homes for all the but via social media and a free add in the uk. I could not be recommend dogs.ie as a feasible way of trying to sell pups.”
Hi Aoife,
I'm sorry you were not happy with your ad on dogs.ie . In the last 4 days there was over 200 views on your ad.
Looking closer at your ad, you do have great photos of your dog. We did see you had only enabled people to contact you via the dogs.ie messaging system, ads that have phone numbers / whatsapp messages enabled tend to get more contacts. For IKC registered Staffordshire Bull Terriers there is a spread of prices and some people have listed their dogs for significantly less than the male dog you listed with us. The ad didn't have the IKC flag checked when you submitted the ad, this might have also caused less people to contact you, despite it's pedigree.
Hi Emma
I’m sorry you are not happy with thr ad so far.
We had to lock descriptions as people were changing ads to try to sell other dogs. If you reply to support@dogs.ie with the changes we can help you straight away.
Hi Eamon
I’m sorry you are not happy with your ad. Looking at it, it could be that the price is a bit high for a Retriever X Border Collie mix at €300 even though it’s been seen almost 800 times.
Looking at similar ads yours would be one of the more expensive. If you reach out to support@dogs.ie we can help to optimise your ad for you.
Hi Ewa
We currently have an issue with some users and their messages. Sorry about this inconvenience.
Messages have only been unavailable since today, Saturday 1/4/23 and should be fixed overnight. As your ad has already been open since March 16th, it doesn't qualify for a refund. Prices are stated up front when you place an ad for a dog for sale.
Hi Kenny,
I'm sorry you are not happy about the cost of an ad.
Ad prices are upfront. There are many other platforms that you can also sell your dog on, some of them are free. We feel it's a bit unfair to complain about the price when you know what it costs before you buy an ad.
“I have spent €62 on my add. Its has 1231 views, 27 phone click but not 1 message or phone call. I tried another way of advertising the pups after 4 days and sold 6 pups within 2 days. Very disappointing”
Hi Wayne
I'm sorry you haven't had a better experience so far.
Looking at your ad, the price for the Labs at €600 does seem a little high when compared with the other ads. There are over 50 ads in this category right now so there is a lot of competition between breeders. I've reformatted your ad a little to see if that can help with getting some more attention.
Hi Anon
I’m sorry you are not happy with the price or length of the ad.
Generally dogs sell much quicker than 30 days, especially if dogs are set at a fair price. We are up front about the terms before you post an ad.
Hi Anon, I'm sorry you are not happy with the service. I see your ad is now closed, which would suggest that the dogs are sold, which under 4 days is pretty good.
In what way is the website hard to use? For posting an ad some of the details are required by law to be in your ad. You can reach out to us at any time on support@dogs.ie
Our prices are upfront before you pay for your ad, so we are confused as to why you would buy something if you weren't happy with the price.
Hi Liam
I’m sorry you are not a happy with this ad, after your previous ads with us. This one has been seen over 200 times and 6 people did request to see your phone number.
Do you have any more zoomed in images of the dogs that show their faces clearer ? These types of images work best.
Hi Tom
Thanks for your review we are sorry you are not happy with the service. The price and length of ad are mentioned when you pay for it.
Generally dogs sell in a week or two. We don’t see a reason why you’d need an ad for 3 months. If you need extra time on your ad please contact support@dogs.is and we can see what we can do.
“Your much too expensive for placing an add with you sorry. Maybe another site is needed for advertising puppies. From what I am hearing more people are saying the same. Sorry”
Hi Mari
Our prices are up front before you pay for an ad. If you think that an ad is too expensive and you are not happy with the price, then you do have the option not to use the site.
Your ad was seen 880 times, 10 people sent you messages and 25 people wanted to see your phone number to contact you. We hope that this helped to sell your two dogs.
“I know it's a good site and could be the time of year but I've had no interest and he's a pure breed, all up todate with all ,microchipped etc and I can't bump it with out a charge which I think is steep, the fact it's €50 when posting an ad . At least one bump should be free to help rehome dogs .”
Hi Anon,
I'm sorry you are not happy with the experience selling your dog.
You should be able to bump your ad, please contact support@dogs.ie if you are having issues with this. I do know older dogs, like your one being 6 months old, are a little harder to sell, as people tend to prefer puppies, approx. 2 months old given the chance.
Over the Christmas period we did have a high number (over 100) of ads selling labradors. Currently this is down to 76 ads, so perhaps this will help get your dog a bit more attention.
“Ad up a week and not even one response. And I'm selling a popular breed pup at a cheap price. I feel you should have a money back policy in this situation as I spent 50euro just to post the ad. Will not recommend dogs.ie”
Hi Anon
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We do have in total 44 ads for Cockapoos at the moment so there is a bit of competition between breeders.
Your ad has been seen almost 300 times and a few people clicked on the button to view your ad. Do you have any more images of the puppy ? You can upload up to 10. Images showing the face in focus work well.
