Hi Cushla, thanks for your review. I'm sorry you didn't have a 5 star experience. As I write this we have 659 open ads with 1,640 available dogs. so there is a lot of competition for sellers, especially for the more popular breeds, like your pugs. This is also the time of year where sales are a little slower, due to people tending to hold off until the summer holiday period has started.

I haven't much enquiries from it yet donedeal was away better you didn't have to have dogs microchip and it only cost 3 euro to advertise So I not two impressed yet

Hi Joan, Thanks for your review. Microchipping & properly registering your dogs is a legal requirement, we want to make sure you are compliant with all your legal obligations. Your ad is still high on the Springer category, https://dogs.ie/dogs/springer-spaniel/ . We've seen that this time of year, pre-summer holidays is the slowest time for new puppy sales, as people are holding off until they are on their summer holidays to buy a dog. Hopefully you find some great new buyers soon.

Hi Liz, I've taken a look at the ad for the 2 Cavalier King Charles puppies. The IKC has not yet processed your application, so we can't mark it as IKC Registered. The price of your dogs would also be around twice the average for what's currently listed https://dogs.ie/dogs/cavalier-king-charles/ To get more coverage for your ad you can bump the ad back to the top of the listings for a fee. Please feel free to contact us at support@dogs.ie

Hi I have sold one puppy via your website and the rest via social media. How are you monitoring or preventing the sale of puppies from puppy farmers, under doodle, there are 3 sellers for Cavan and all look a bit dodgy? One of my buyers said they don't trust the sellers on the website so it is a bit concerning for you guys. For me, this is a once-off selling pups but I do love dogs and would hope that you are looking into tough measures to ensure your site is not facilitating the sale of puppies from puppy farmers. Thanks Brena Hamilton

Hi Breda We have three types of sellers on the site:  1) Private individual sellers, like yourself, who are people who sell less than 6 dogs a year.  2) Registered Sellers, people who are registered with the Department of Agriculture. They sell six or more dogs a calendar year but have less than 6 breeding bitches. Their Registered Sellers ID is included in the ad.  3) Registered Breeding Establishments (RBE), these people are licensed by the local authority (city or county council) and they have to have their premises inspected. Their RBE number and the max number of breeding bitches per their license is included in the ad.   The larger RBE sellers are all inspected and licenced by their local authorities. If you have concerns you can request them to visit a location.

Hi Fintan I do believe that at this time of year sales are generally a bit slower, as people are thinking of holding off on getting a dog until they have more time off over a summer holiday / schools are finished. Looking at your ad, it might be better to put the first picture of a puppy closer up, so people can see the dogs when going through the German Shepherd category. Please let me know if you need help with this.

Hi John, thanks for the review, and I'm sorry you are not totally happy. Are you able to get some clearer pictures of the pups ? I know photographing black dogs can be challenging. I think with clearer photos you'd get a few more calls. A photo of one dog on it's own as the main picture is probably also better.

Mixed breed advertised with pure breeds very misleading

Hi Anon, thanks for your review and it's a fair point. We've discussed this internally before, and having a balance between options for listing a dog and for buyers to filter breeds, has been a bit of a challenge. The good news is that we plan to have a filter on the search where people can search mixed breeds / pure breeds (& pedigree) only. This is coming in the next 2 months. With the rise of "designer breeds" and other mixes it's sometimes hard to categories these. I hope this is all in place by the time you have your next litter and will consider giving us another go.

€50 much too expensive, I have an add up two and a half weeks and no sale yet. Dogs.ie will have will have too much of a cut from my money by the time they do sell. Photos are awkward to manage and a video would be good.

Thanks for your feedback Darryl, we charge the same price for a litter verus a single dog (as we want people to put in all the information about a litter). I do admit, in the case you have a single dog this price per dog advertised can be higher.
