Hi Joan I'm sorry you don't feel like you had value for money. We are clear about the prices up front. Prices are on it's on the homepage and on the page when you are paying for the ad.

Hi Finin Thanks for your review and apologies it wasn’t a five star experience. We have had to lock parts of the ad once published as people were selling multiple different breeds either the same ad. If you email support@dogs.ie with the changes we can update the description for you at any time.

Customer care excellent . I always had my emails answered promptly and changes accomodated. But Just in relation to the finding a home, not many options from advert at all. I expected many more. Still have my pup,not sold. No calls in days. Only 2 people interested initially and in a female . But I've only a male. This might be current market. Who knows. The site- so I'd like if I could upload sa video of pups. Also move photos easily around to profile photo etc. Also I can't edit description unless I email you guys to do this. The fee is way too expensive per pup. It should be a total fee regardless of pups advertised. This in turn ups the sale price of pups and makes it more difficult to sell pups at a higher price. Also the bump for 12€ is not good. 2 bumps should come free with advert. All in all, it's too expensive and not effective. I believe people will revert to word of mouth . Im finding that effective- have 2 potential homes from that. Thanks guys. Thanks guys 👍

Hi SK Thanks for the detailed feedback. I’m sorry it hasn’t been a 5 star experience. To address some of the issues. 1) editing description: we had to lock the field as people were changing details on the ad to totally different dogs. We are always happy to change anything you needs. 2) if you upload your videos to YouTube and put the URL in the description it will display in your ad. Let us know if we can help here. This will be made a bit easier in our new site. 3) I did take a look at your ad, your dogs are priced higher than other Maltese Crosses, by approximately 70%. Prices have fallen recently as demand, as you rightly point out, has decreased. We have 16 ads in the Maltese Cross category and 41 individual dogs and yours would be the most expensive ad.

Hi Pat, Sorry you didn't have a great experience. I'm not really following you here. Please feel free to reach out to support@dogs.ie so we can find out what's wrong.

Very little interest. Can't find a house!

Hi Anon, your ad has been seen over 500 times in the last 5 days. Looking at the price of your dog, it's about 50% higher than some of the other dogs listed in the same category https://dogs.ie/dogs/cocker-spaniel/ This might be causing the lack of interest. We have 33 ads in the Cocker Spaniel category and 75 individual dogs.

Hi Anon, thanks for your review, and I'm sorry you are not happier. I took a look at your ad and some similar ads. We have 11 other ads in the Boxer category and 36 individual dogs for sale, and across the site, we have 770 live ads and approx. 2132 dogs are listed for sale, so there is a lot of competition at the moment for sellers. Your ad has been seen over 350 times since the ad was published 5 days ago. There are also quite a few similar ads to yours, ones that are also IKC registered. The price you have set is competitive with the other ads. Hopefully you will get some more callers in the coming weeks.

50 euro is Way Too Expensive for no apparent reason to post the dog on sale, when DoneDeal or Adverts were allowed to advertise dogs it would cost 3.99 and dogs also had microchips. I only had 2 lovely pups and wanted to sell them cheap. Not every one is a puppy farmer you know. Disgraceful, you must think people sleep on money when you cash 50 euro per ad. You should be ashamed of yourself. 9.99 even would be too little to fill your pockets?

Hi Nina I’m sorry you are not 100% happy with your experience on dogs.ie. We are upfront about the costs to advertise, it’s mentioned on the homepage and ad creation page. So it should not have been a surprise. Our prices have been the same for 2 years now, despite increased costs. We feel we provide a excellent support system to help you find a new home for your dogs. I can’t speak for the other websites, but as the owner of the site, I know we can’t provide the level of service we want at those price points. For simplicity we change the same to advertise 1,2 or 10 dogs. We hope you found great homes for your Jack Russells.

Posted ad last Thursday. Have had a few texts enquiring but nothing came of them, all time wasters. Haven't heard anything more. Text messages is a bad option would prefer if people made a phone call

I haven’t had one enquiry or message and for the cost of advertising I really thought that this would be a perfect place to advertise

Hi, thanks for your review. I looked into your ad and you only have 2 images of the dogs you are selling, and they are pretty similar. I'd recommend you adding some more photos of them, so people can get a better idea of what the puppies look like. We have tried to optimise your ad there to see if it will get it some more views.

Bump up should be free 3 times in one month.

Hi Seamus, thanks for your review. I'm sorry you didn't have a better experience. I'm afraid at this time we are not able to make this Bump feature free, not everyone needs to use this feature. Right now there are 816 open ads with 2,096 available dogs, if everyone used it it would also tend to make it not as useful for those who do need to get some more views on their dogs for sale by bumping it to the top of the list. I hope you can see our logic in this.

I don't believe my ad to be recieving views as it is so far back and so many ads go up. I am being requested to pay to "bump" my ad after I accidentally used i think free bumps on the first hour of posting yet I paid for the ad and was not aware there would be more charges afterwards. I incorrectly put in the wrong date of birth and the post does not let me update this either so the ads not even correct.

Thank you for your review, we are sorry you had a negative experience. I’ve updated the date of birth there for you to April 2nd. You can always contact support@dogs.ie to change any details on your ad. There are currently 772 open ads with 1,958 available dogs. Your ad does appear still to be in third position on the Belgian Shepherd page https://dogs.ie/dogs/belgian-shepherd/ Your ad was not bumped and you were only charged for the initial ad.

As I’m glad you can edit the price and photos I feel you should be able to edit the ad also

Hi Fiona, if you contact support@dogs.ie with the changes we are happy to help you. We had to lock the ads as people were selling different dogs in the ads after they sold the first ones.

Well, so far I’ve only ad one reply from a lady who consequently cancelled. So, not much good so far

Difficult to sell the puppies. Annoying how you would have to always sign in just to look at the messages.

Thanks for the feedback Anon. We currently have 705 open ads with 1,772 available dogs, so there is quite a bit of competition from sellers for buyers at the moment. Regarding : the message log-in issue, I believe this will be fixed in the new website release.

Expensive. You would need to bump up the add every day to get it viewed, and reach people, also using the web sight is awkward.

Hi Cushla, thanks for your review. I'm sorry you didn't have a 5 star experience. As I write this we have 659 open ads with 1,640 available dogs. so there is a lot of competition for sellers, especially for the more popular breeds, like your pugs. This is also the time of year where sales are a little slower, due to people tending to hold off until the summer holiday period has started.
Posted 3 years ago
I haven't much enquiries from it yet donedeal was away better you didn't have to have dogs microchip and it only cost 3 euro to advertise So I not two impressed yet

Hi Joan, Thanks for your review. Microchipping & properly registering your dogs is a legal requirement, we want to make sure you are compliant with all your legal obligations. Your ad is still high on the Springer category, https://dogs.ie/dogs/springer-spaniel/ . We've seen that this time of year, pre-summer holidays is the slowest time for new puppy sales, as people are holding off until they are on their summer holidays to buy a dog. Hopefully you find some great new buyers soon.

I have sold no puppies yet so I’m not very happy, can you help me with this please?

Hi Liz, I've taken a look at the ad for the 2 Cavalier King Charles puppies. The IKC has not yet processed your application, so we can't mark it as IKC Registered. The price of your dogs would also be around twice the average for what's currently listed https://dogs.ie/dogs/cavalier-king-charles/ To get more coverage for your ad you can bump the ad back to the top of the listings for a fee. Please feel free to contact us at support@dogs.ie

Hi I have sold one puppy via your website and the rest via social media. How are you monitoring or preventing the sale of puppies from puppy farmers, under doodle, there are 3 sellers for Cavan and all look a bit dodgy? One of my buyers said they don't trust the sellers on the website so it is a bit concerning for you guys. For me, this is a once-off selling pups but I do love dogs and would hope that you are looking into tough measures to ensure your site is not facilitating the sale of puppies from puppy farmers. Thanks Brena Hamilton

Hi Breda We have three types of sellers on the site:  1) Private individual sellers, like yourself, who are people who sell less than 6 dogs a year.  2) Registered Sellers, people who are registered with the Department of Agriculture. They sell six or more dogs a calendar year but have less than 6 breeding bitches. Their Registered Sellers ID is included in the ad.  3) Registered Breeding Establishments (RBE), these people are licensed by the local authority (city or county council) and they have to have their premises inspected. Their RBE number and the max number of breeding bitches per their license is included in the ad.   The larger RBE sellers are all inspected and licenced by their local authorities. If you have concerns you can request them to visit a location.

There does not seem to be the same audience with dogs.ie than the use to be with say done deal or Adverts.ie ,so far not one phone call or txt

Hi Fintan I do believe that at this time of year sales are generally a bit slower, as people are thinking of holding off on getting a dog until they have more time off over a summer holiday / schools are finished. Looking at your ad, it might be better to put the first picture of a puppy closer up, so people can see the dogs when going through the German Shepherd category. Please let me know if you need help with this.
