“I had bought a puppy on Dogs.ie in 2022so knew it was a reputable website.
I advertised this little puppy on Sunday and sold it on Monday to a lovely lovely family.
I felt that if I had to pay for the advert, I was a serious seller and anyone looking on Dogs.ie, was a serious buyer….I was right”
“The Advert is too expensive for a short period of time it is up before you have to pay more if you don't sell your animal within this period. This would be the view of a lot of people who have spoken to me about their dealings with dogs.ie and been too expensive.”
Hi Dermot,
Thanks for your review, and I'm sorry you are not happier with the experience.
Looking at your ad it looks like you closed it already, and it's only been live for 6 days. If you need extra time, please reach out to us to extend your ad.
Generally we find 30 days is more than enough to find a new home for a dog. Even in your case the dog was 20 months old, that is harder to re-home compared with a puppy.
Prices are upfront before you advertise, so there shouldn't be any surprises about the charges involved.
Hi Karla
Thanks for your review, we’re sorry you are not entirely happy. Looking at your ad, I’d recommend you upload more images. You can add up to 10 in there.
I would also think the price point may be too high for people. For non-pedigree dogs €2000 might be outside what a buyer is prepared to pay.
Your ad has been seen almost 800 times.
Hi Raymond,
Thanks for your review. It's great you've sold one of the four dogs. You could consider adding more pictures of your Chihuahua puppies. Currently you only have 3 pictures but you can upload up to four. This will help give people a better idea of the puppies. Also pictures of the parents is also a good idea.
“Paul and Sharon could not have been more helpful it is lovely to see people they were out for the welfare of dogs and puppies as much as they are fair play to Paul and Sharon and to dogs.ie I could not recommend you more thank you so much”
“I’m not sure if this is a fare review because I know times are hard financially at the minute. I found it easy enough to post the ad, but I only had one person enquiring about my pups and they were a dreamer.
I wouldn’t recommend this site due to the lack of interest.”
Hi Stewart, thanks for your review and feedback.
I've done a few small formatting changes to your ad to see if that will help. I see we are still waiting on the IKC registration to be processed, do let us know once you get that so we can update your ad, this will also help your ad stand out , and be featured on pedigree.ie
Prices, especially in the Republic, have fallen in the last year or so and the number of litters advertised (9) in the last month does mean you are competing against other breeders for attention.
“Very pleased with dogs.ie proper company that makes sure that the dogs are healthy and registered with ikc would recommend it to anyone looking to sell there dogs to good homes.”
