“Alberta Birds and Dinosaurs Tour - excellent tour, highlighted by Nick and Jody our enthusiastic, knowledgeable and accommodating guides. I felt well looked after by email by Kerstin in client services. From registration to windup dinner a successful tour. I plan on the Rocky Mountain tour with Eagle Eye next year. Behind the scenes tour at Tyrrell was fantastic, adding new birds to my list also great, however I must say the people associated with Eagle Eye are also a standout. Thank you.”
“Eagle-Eye Tours is an excellent company with a proven commitment to authentic adventure travel. I had great communication with their staff in the planning of this trip. Adventure Canada is also an excellent company with years of experience in adventure travel and access to a wide range of highly qualified resource experts and local contacts. Unfortunately bad weather on this trip posed numerous challenges to the AC staff who were constantly having to react to the weather and modify itineraries. Consequently we were unable to experience many of the anticipated highlights. AC staff worked hard to arrange the best possible alternative itineraries at short notice under challenging circumstances.”
“Good sample of Newfoundland birds and landscapes. Good response to bad weather: travel and museum periods. Good picnic lunch fixings, and evening restaurants with local simple charm and cuisine (fish fresh). I would have preferred earlier dinners due to medical problem (GERD) when going to bed shortly after dinner. But early bedtime hour was needed due to early birding start the next day. (Not everyone in group had my problem.) I would have preferred a little more time on marine bird nesting colonies (one was in pouring, wind-driven rain), as I can see most of the upland species at home in Maine (although boreal chickadee and blackpoll are uncommon here). Overall, an excellent trip, and compatible group.”
“Tour on the small cruise ship Ocean Endeavor advertised as "adventure travel" included multiple 4-9 hour bus tours to land-based sites. These trips had 50+ folks on board. These trips were in complete contrast to a tour by Adventure Canada on the same ship 2 years ago ("Arctic Safari") to West Greenland/Baffin Island/Resolute) where the "adventure" spirit was MUCH more in evidence. The inclusion of so many bus excursions on the North Atlantic tour was not adequately described in the preliminary tour info packet, in our opinion. Other aspects of the tour such as interpretive lectures (geology, local history, birds, marine mammals, plants, and the arts), meals, accomodations, and ship entertainment, were indeed excellent, as on our Arctic Safari tour. So, in our opinion, if the spirit of adventure travel does not include coach tours, we might advise you to inquire very closely with the tour operators on this particular journey, in order to ensure you pair the best possible tour to your particular interests.”
Dear Andy and Ellen,
Thank you very much for your feedback. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed the presentations, meals, accommodations, etc. Based on this feedback, we will endeavour to do a better job of describing the shore excursions for this tour in our online material.
Thank you again!
Best wishes,

“The narwhal and polar bear trip was great. The place was stunning and the guides looked after us well. A few minor gripes but nothing considering we were camping on an ice flow off northern Baffin Island.”
“It is not easy to offer a comfortable, safe trip to the flow edge on Baffin Inlet but Eagle-Eye did a fantastic job of putting me in the right place to see narwhal, polar bear, bowhead whale and all the other exciting wildlife.”
“The tour guides were wonderful, knowledgeable and clearly passionate about birding and the opportunity to share it with others. All the stops were interesting and combined birding with geology and local knowledge. We were very impressed and had a great time.”
“I'm a birder. So my review must be seen in this context. I had chosen this trip as an introduction to birding on the North American continent. So my priority was birding everything else was secondary. My birding experience was incredible. The accommodation was comfortable and never far from the birding locations we visited. However as I don’t eat meat, I was concerned about meals and their content. My concern was unwarranted.”
“This was a great trip. The guides, Ernesto and Lev, were very knowledgeable and professional. I'm giving this trip a 5 star rating because of the abundance of wonderful birds we saw and for the tenacity with which the guides sought them out. I did not like the Paraiso Quetzal Lodge in the cloud forest. The weather in the cloud forest is rainy and cold and our room was a long way from the main lodge itself, down a steep hill. Also, the rooms are not heated (there is a very small space heater in each, but it is not enough to make the stay anyway near enjoyable). Everyone wants to see the Resplendent Quetzal, and seeing one here is almost guaranteed, so that's why this location was chosen.”
“Both leaders did excellent jobs of coordinating the logistics, driving the vehicles, including everyone in the activities, and making the tour FUN! On top of all that, they are both excellent birders and birding leaders. This is the first birding tour that I've been on that I wished could be longer. Other tours in the past have not been so.....to the point that on several I wished them done sooner than scheduled. Kudos to Eagle Eye for setting up the accommodations and logistics.”
“Really good tour that incorporated the high end and grassroots experiences. I love that the tour also incorporated a bit of not-to-be missed cultural sites. This was a fantastic bird watching tour. Guides went out of their way to make sure we saw an extraordinary number of species (301 when we expected mid-200s).”
“Guides were terrific, and also good company. Dealt with a medical situation very efficiently and empathetically. Very full days and could probably use a little more down time. No hidden costs or commercial pressure to buy anything. Variety of habitats excellent, with over 350 species seen. Travel and accommodation well arranged with a very accommodating bus driver who became part of the team. Ken Musgrave, Ontario, Canada.”
“More than met my expectations for SERIOUS birding. Our guide, Hector Gomez de Silva, was very good at putting us on target birds and managing al the logistics of lodging, meals and travel, which were first class. His great knowledge of Mexican birds and attention to detail make him a great asset to Eagle Eye Tours. I highly recommend this tour for anyone wishing to see a good number of birds, the various habitats where they are found, and a good deal of southern Mexico.”
“Great guide who was an expert on all the birds of southern Mexico and where to find them, perfect logistics and accommodations, and fantastic introduction to every habitat of all 4 states visited. We saw 353 species of birds and travelled about 2800 km. Highly recommended!”
“I've done two birdwatching trips with this company, to Newfoundland and Peninsular Malaysia, both of which were new locations for me as far as birding is concerned. I'd thoroughly recommend them. In both cases the trips were well planned, the support from the office staff was good throughout the booking process, the itineraries were interesting, and the guides excellent. Some companies' birding tours can be a gruelling experience; as far as I'm concerned, Eagle-Eye gets the balance right.”
“A good trip, though the drives were a bit long. We saw 20 whooping cranes and lots of other birds. The two guides were very knowledgeable and found us birds we would never have found on our own. Considering where we went, I don’t know how the infrequent bathroom breaks could be solved.”
