“Core bit worked fine initially, however after using it on about (10) 7/8”Holes in paver brick the 7/8” OD (actually .835) pipe became very tight as though the bit diameter was getting smaller as more holes were drilled. Eventually a reaming technique needed to be used to keep the hole large enough so pipe could slide through. Water from a GH running over the drilling area was used the entire time during the drilling process”
“The floor grinder I received malfunctioned within the 1st 30 min causing some of the parts to become damaged. The company did eventually get the right parts to me quickly. The replacement parts worked great. 2nd use was way better. I liked how well it worked as compared to more expensive models I have rented in the past..”
“I had two 4” holes to drill though a twenty year old 5” concrete floor. A rental tool would have cost me 2/3 the price of the EDiamond 4” core drill and the 1/2 drill adaptor. That’s a no brainer for me. The core drill arrived two days after I ordered it from EDiamond and even with some shipping was a little less than the Amazon prime price.
As some of the other reviewers suggested I cut a 4” hole though a 2x6 with a standard hole saw a then stood on the 2x6 to get the hole started. A small stream of water flowing on the coring bit kept it cool and flushed during the process. It took me less than an hour to core both holes and the bit still looks brand new. The 1/2 Milwaukee drill I used was probably a little underpowered for the job and got hot but with a few cool down breaks it worked fine.
All in all I was very pleased with the core drill and the adaptor and highly recommend them.”
“I used the "extended core bit for stone and concrete" to drill a 1 3/4" hole through a 1/2" marble tile backsplash (over top of a buried faucet valve stem). The first few minutes of drilling was the fastest but the bit held up for two holes, which is what I needed. I used a pre-drilled piece of plywood as my drill guide and the bit was very stable. It took about an hour per hole with a 2000rpm hand drill with lots of breaks to clear the hole and rinse the bit.”
“So though these tools are made in China they seem to be pretty well made. I did have to provide a pair of O-rings. But that said it allows you to use your SDS MAX hammer drill with diamond core drills. Dry or with the water swivel you should be able to get things done. All in it is far cheaper than a dedicated core drill motor with water, like 5 to 1 cheaper. So highly recommended.”
“I used a 2 1/2" core bit to drill holes for railing posts in granite (and other) boulders. It was a bear doing this with a hand-held drill, but it worked with only occasional grabbing. I used two bits to drill 13 holes four to six inches deep. It worked, but there must be a better way! No issues with the core bits themselves - I was impressed.”
