“If you are a little unsure about the specifics of solar power generation, and/or don't have a contractor in mind, this service is invaluable. There is a lot of info to read about at the website, but going through the process of getting a quote and picking a contractor results in you learning about what you want regarding system attributes, and you end up with a contractor that has been vetted by an impartial third party. I only got two bids; i suspect because of the geographical location. If you live in a more populated area, you will probably get mulitiple bids. Anything more than one is a huge help to be confident you aren't getting ripped off. Great experience.”

“Very useful service. There are three main benefits. The first is that you can get detailed, thorough quotes from several vendors without contacting them individually. This is helpful because if you contact them directly they'll often want to take as much of your time as possible to build a relationship, etc. So they'll want to do in-person calls and visits, etc. That's fine if they turn out to be one of your top choices but it's not a great first step from the consumer's perspective. The second great benefit is that you can compare the quotes in a very detailed and precise way since all of the vendors essentially fill out entries in a database. You can use EnergySage to directly compare cost, features, specs, etc. thoroughly. The quotes I got outside of EnergySage were far less forthcoming with details, equipment specs, etc. The last major benefit is that all interaction with vendors is through EnergySage unless you decide to give out your email or phone number. This lets you control the conversation. All of the vendors that I interacted with were responsive and helpful. Solar companies do not make it easy for consumers to know all of the information before making a purchase decision. Things like dealer fees are likely not explained to most people and not sure if EnergySage makes dealer fees clear are not but EnergySage does help to give the consumer an assist. Definitely do your research as well but EnergySage was definitely helpful for me.”

“zIt was great having an independent group reviewing the submittals. Had one bidder submit an alternate proposal separate from EnergySage, but could not tell how good the products being proposed actually were. They resubmitted through the site and EnergySage was able to let me know the proposal was justified. Strongly recommend the independent review.”

“Process of using EnergySage was simple and efficient. You do need some techical information about your home, but that's reasonable in order to get bids that are more appropriate to the size and needs of your home. I found my vendor here, got a great price and then also had some rebates through special promotions from panel vendors. This is my third solar home -- I didn't know about Energy Sage before using them now. Recommended.”

“EnergySage helped me tremendously to educate me on ALL aspects of Solar Power Generation, Storage, costs... etc and played a key role in providing quotations from local (or local to the state) solar installers which were far more cost competitive compared to the quotations I got from local solar installers who had a representative who visited my home to provide a sales pitch, sell their company and whatever brand of solar panels & inverters they were supporting. The lower price of the quotes obtained through EnergySage was a significant financial benefit to me. The vast amount of information, articles, comparison, and data sheets available and well organized on EnergySage also helped me answer any question I had and for me to obtain quantitative comparison to make a final solar system choice.”

“I stumbled upon EnergySage while researching solar for our house. It streamlined the whole process. I was able to type in a paragraph about the system specifics that I was looking for, wait a few days, and then compare the quotes. I had already gotten quotes from two local solar companies prior to joining EnergySage. I got four additional quotes from EnergySage and am confident that we found the right solar contractor (one of the four from EnergySage) to install the system that we wanted at the best price. The system will be installed early next month. I am looking forward to not being so grid-dependent. I recommend EnergySage to everyone that I meet that is considering going solar.”
