Energy Sage helped me to find a good local contractor in a short period of time. It also provided me with a lot of great information to help me make my decision. I did not use the EnergySage consultant so cannot comment on how well that part of the program works. Overall, I would recommend that anyone interested in going solar use EnergySage to help find a reputable company. There are some questionable practices out there so you want to be sure you are getting the best for your investment.

Positives: Uniform information on each quote so they are easy to compare. Links to equipment information that is included as part of the quote. Helpful advisor call/video call to answer questions. Negative: Hard to determine for national solar companies their local presence, capabilities and length of local activity.

EnergySage enabled us to interact with solar companies in our area. We were able to obtain detailed quotes and information that led us to a solar solution for our house.

What I would like to say about Energy Sage, was that it narrowed down my search of solar installing professionals, to where I could make an (somewhat) educated guess, as to whom I would like to install my solar project for me. Plus, it put me in contact with several different installers, while keeping me anonymous, so I would not be harassed. Also, a shout out to Mr. Ben Guyette, an "energy guru" who helped me make a "more than educated" choice of solar providers. However, after posing a question, to which I got a response from Mr. Guyette, a second question was left unanswered. I can only surmise, that it is only "one free question per customer". I realize that Mr. Guyette is most likely a VERY busy man, so I am willing to let that slide. That however, is the reason I only awarded 4 stars. Had I gotten an answer to a second, or further questions, a fifth star would have been awarded.

EnergySage is a welcome neutral third-party for someone like me who wasn't sure I wanted to go solar. With three actual quotes to compare, some back-and-forth with the firms with no pressure, and EnergySage's standard rating of products, I was able to decide on my own terms. Doing my own research on the net to get multiple views on products, like various SolarSurge YouTube vides, etc sealed the deal.

I learned about the solar system and parts. Also learned how they operate from energy sage. Ben was knowledgable and answered the questions.

Energy sage allowed me to research what I needed, let them know what my requirements were and they returned quotes frm numerous vendors. I was able to look at all the quotes side by side and make contact with my choice of vendors/ contractors. I have been able to contract for solar panels/installation of solar system in a very short time while feeling confident in the choice of installer.

This seems to be a very useful, unbiased way to get and compare quotes from multiple solar installers. I like the information they list, and how you can display it, making it easy to compare different companies.

Was pretty good experience. Nice to get multiple quotes all in one place, all in the same format, without having salesmen wasting your time and giving you the hard sell. Also very nice to be able to click on links and check out the specs on panels and invertors contained in each quote. Did get a lot of emails and texts from a few companies trying to convince me why they were better, but that's better than having a salesman in my house blowing smoke up my shorts. I did have one company not affiliated with energy sage come out and give me a quote. Ridiculous price and a lot of smoke being blown my way - pretty much confirmed the value of using energy sage. The only real let down was my energy sage "advisor". Their available phone times did not fit my schedule, and questions asked by email went unanswered or when they were answered, the answers really didn't help much. If you wish to make an informed decision, you are going to have to do some research on your own. That being said, I did choose a company from my energy sage quotes, and if I had to do it again, I would use energy sage again. My system is not yet installed, so whether or not going solar was the right choice remains to be seen. As a final note, I have a shingled roof, and the shingles were old enough to need replacing - something to consider. If you put a system on your roof and need to reshingle years down the road, the complexity and cost of the re-roof will be much much higher. And I discovered that having a roof redone is NOT cheap. That alone is costing me as much as the solar system. That part sucks, but in my case, I could not see any way around it. So, I'm pleased that I found energy sage, as it definitely helped in making a decision. Whether or not the decision I made pays off for me remains to be seen.

EnergySage was very helpful comparing quotes for my solar cell project. But I think when you pick a contractor you should make sure you do not pay all the money at the completion of installation, and withhold as much as 25% to be paid after all the inspections are passed and you are in the electric company's queue to have your new meter installed.

Energy Sage gave me a variety of options to choose from. I was hesitant to get on board until a door to door solar company showed up. They surveyed the install and gave me a price $5,000 higher than any from EnergySage. After reviewing my options I choose EnergyOne. The first thing they needed was for me to survey the job for them. Wasn't too happy to have to go back up in the attic to measure the rafters.

Good unbiased source of information on solar energy, and helped us connect with installers in our area. (Another good source of information is unboundsolar.com) We also looked at other installers but ended up going with one recommended by Energy Sage. The only reason they don't get a 5 is that our personal advisor was unresponsive and never replied to any of our inquiries.

Energy Sage facilitated my decision making by getting 7 companies to submit competitive quotes for my Solar project. Two solar installers made my final cut and only a week after I started this process with Energy Sage, I made my final choice and signed a contract with my selected installer. I'm planning to add a backup battery system within the next 2 years so I hope Energy Sage can help me with that process as well.

I found the EnergySage site and process to be very helpful in understanding the process and getting and comparing quotes. An even better part of using EnergySage was my solar advisor, whom I met with virtually. My advisor answered my specific questions and provided other information that helped me pick an installer. I did get quotes from installers who are not listed with EnergySage and used the ES format to compare quotes directly.

Energy sage was patient with us as we explored solar for the first time. They were friendly and linked us to a vendor who was kind and trustworthy. I only wish that we could have had more selection for comparison as we were only given one choice from EnergySage.
