Equip provided exactly what we needed to help our daughter with anorexia: - An amazing therapist who has a masterful ability to hold us accountable while still being compassionate - A wonderful dietician who helps build our confidence in making adjustments using a foundation of caring and trust she has built with us - A caring family mentor, who has been through this before, and expertly points out our blind spots and ensures our focus where it matters - An expert physician, with tremendous knowledge and ability to figure out what's imporant - A psychiatrist with an unbelievable ability to really understand our daughter and her brain just by talking with her, and make what turned out to be all the right decisions for her meds. - A process with "more weight" is "more healing" for the brain at its foundation, which turned out to be the answer to our daughter's recovery.

My daughter spent four months with Equip Health. My advice is to avoid this program. It is a very passive intervention. My daughter lost significant weight, and the program documentation was showing that she is gaining. This program just creates meetings to be able to check box and charge insurance. If you challenge the program, they will respond that there is limitation for virtual. My daughter indicated meeting was artificial and they try to show that your situation is better than actual reality. My daughter reached critical weight loss without anyone highlighting and raising the issue. I would challenge Equip Health to release details of how their data is collected of participants and for them to provide evidence of their report that 78% report increasing weight. I am writing this review to make others benefit from the situation that happened to my daughter.

I’ve tried other programs before, but this was the first one that truly worked for me because it was tailored specifically to my medical condition. Equip helped me recover from something I’ve struggled with my entire life. For me, it took a few months to feel genuinely recovered, but I understand that everyone’s situation is different, and the program meets people where they are. The care felt developmentally appropriate and supportive, helping me grow into the skills and stability I needed. I felt safe opening up, and I appreciated the many avenues for recovery — including both individual and group support, and attention to both psychological and physiological aspects of healing. Overall, the approach felt comprehensive, thoughtful, and effective.

I was only in this program a short period of time, but from what I saw, the therapist I was assigned to, was completely incapable of helping me. She seemed incredibly disorganized, lacked basic knowledge, and seemed to have zero plan on how to actually help. The things she came up with were ridiculous and not realistic.

We are so grateful to Equip for helping our son with his ARFID. We were originally pessimistic that the remote structure would work for our situation and the severity of his condition but little by little we started to see the progress. They really cover all the bases - from clinical appointments with our son to check his physical health, to nutritionist appointments to get an idea of his day-to-day diet and recommendations based on where he was in the program, to mental health support for both him and for us (his parents) while we worked with him. It's a time commitment for sure but a year later we're so glad we invested in this. Our son is no longer the "picky" kid at home or at school. He's really flourishing and so much healthier than he was when we started.

A life changing experience- as a NCAA D1 athlete recovering from OSFED & REDS with an extensive trauma history, Equip provided the knowledge, resources, and supports I needed to take back my life and redefine my relationship with food, exercise, and my body. The accessibility and flexibility of the virtual platform aided my commitment to treatment.

I was told that the program was covered by my insurance and would be $15 a month. I now have a $900 bill and I am not even sure what it is for. I sought treatment for binge eating and I feel like the program was geared towards anorexia/bulimia, which I get, but then don't advertise as BE treatment. I tried to cancel the program and I had several unanswered messages before I finally got someone to cancel it. I gave 2 stars because the nutritionist was fabulous. I learned a lot from her. My therapist was so sweet but I feel like she didn't know how to support me properly, as a binger. The program, as a whole, needs work, especially for BE.

Providers were changed continually. After meeting a therapist the very next session we were told there would be a new therapist. The psychiatric/medical team is non-existent. We were given a meeting with psychiatric care a few weeks in. In the initial visit we were told we would need labs and they would request them from our primary care. I waited two weeks hearing nothing. I sent an inquiry asking if we needed to schedule another sppointment. I heard no response for three weeks then i got a message with no context asking if labcorp was innetwork for my insurance. I did the legwork, found labcorp was innetwork and let them know 20 minutes later. We waited a few more weeks before the response was given telling us to do labs and that an order was sent. Within a week we were told now that the medical team provider is being switched. The psychiatric provider was out from May through July 7th and there was no medical contact during that time other than technitions asking questions and then ignoring the response for weeks. There is apparently a revolving door at equip and providers are continually shuffling with no continuity. Better to build your own program, find a dietitian, find a therapist, find psychiatrist. Better to do nothing and save money than to pay and wait for care that never materializes.

We had a terrible experience at Equip. The therapist was very opinionated and sort of was forcing her own opinions on my kid who was going through the program. I just really felt like it was inappropriate. The therapy aspect was really bad. Luckily, he got into an in person program located close to us.

This program is a must have for any family dealing with an eating disorder. The staff goes above and beyond to train families on how to win the battle, using love, compassion and research based strategies. Your 5 person team is readily available and there are numerous group classes offered. I tell every doctor, school counselor, and struggling family about this program.

This program has made the difference for both my daughter and my family. After several years of doing FBT at home this is the support we needed to finally start to feel like we can beat this disease and that recovery is a possiblity. Our team is excellent, responsive and really listens to provide needed advice every week.

It supported my son and me thru his journey of his ARFID recovery. We know its the beginning but it has helped us gain tools and learn strategies to help us figure out which way to help him get better.

My daughter has had multiple food issues since birth, and they began to really take over her life once she hit puberty. After over 15 years of having our concerns dismissed by doctors, psychologists, and other medical professionals ("she'll grow out of it"), we finally found a team willing to listen to our concerns and observations and take a closer look at her situation. After looking at growth charts, reviewing her eating habits from her shaky beginning throughout her life, and carefully asking the right questions, she was diagnosed with ARFID, and a holistic plan of treatment was proposed for not only our daughter but for the whole family. We feel so heard and hopeful that our daughter can overcome these challenges - and our family can better support her - with the help of our EQUIP team.

As a parent I found the interactions with the dietician, physician, and groups beneficial. They were informative and gave me additional tools needed to support my daughter. The sessions with the therapist were also good, although my daughter only participated in a few because we also have in-person local support (physician, psychologist whom she was already seeing for OCD & anxiety, and a nutritionist). We felt as thoughh my daughter was an outlier with the speed at which she recovered and that the program moved too slowly for her. We also felt that it wasn't tailored to her specific needs. She was receiving communications that were not related to her behaviors.

My experience at Equip Health was life-changing. Before admission, I had struggled with an eating disorder for nearly three years. Recovery seemed impossible, until my first session at Equip. I contacted many treatment centers, but the accessibility of virtual care made Equip an easy decision. I was amazed by the idea of being "equipped" with a multidisciplinary team. My therapist, dietician, peer mentor, and nurse practitioner welcomed and valued me not as a patient, but as a member of a team. My journey at Equip was a learning experience for many reasons. I described recovery as a "self-reflective process" to both my therapist and dietician. I learnt about my values, worldviews, personal, and cultural beliefs, and how these factors related to the etiology of my disordered eating. Above all, I was impressed with the knowledge and awareness that each member held. I would recommend anyone to Equip. The center houses passionate, intelligent, humorous, and down-to-Earth people. As someone who is studying to be a counselor, I hope to one day be employed as a therapist at Equip. Thank you, Equip. You positively changed my life.

Do this for yourself! You have no idea how happy you'll be on the other side. My care team helped me take a step back and understand the anxiety I had built up around food and how I had cultivated my poor eating patterns. They reminded me time and again to trust the process and they were right. I use the tools I learned from this program whenever I get stuck. Once you see Equip working, you can't unsee it.

I love equip!!!! It has an amazing therapist who is funny, kind and outgoing. Tiffany helps me with everything and I can always count on her. A dietician who is super kind hearted and guides us. A peer mentor who can connect with me and a good place to talk. An OCD specialist who is so amazing.

Equip was an incredibly helpful program. I was in a place where I was scared and confused. I didn't know what was happening to me. Equip helped me work through my eating disorder issues in a way that was flexible and unique to the individual. I felt validated and respected. Everyone was so friendly, and I genuinely felt like everyone cared about my success. I was able to build skills to navigate through an incredibly scary time in my life. If you need a virtual and flexible treatment option, I highly recommend Equip. If I find myself needing more intensive care in the future, Equip will be the first program I seek out.

Equip was a lifeline for our family in working through our child's eating disorder. Having a support team that was helping us from every angle was critical to our success as it removed my partner and me from playing the role of provider and treatment coordination. Instead, we were able to focus on supporting our child.
