I'm an engineer and was contacted by ERG to fix a leak for one of their customers. Leak fixed, invoice sent to ERG (payment terms agreed at 30 days). 87 days later and I'm still waiting for payment. Numerous emails sent to ERG accounts department who say 'we'll look into it' and then nothing. Customers - you will be over charged if you use this company. Go direct to a local tradesman in your area (use chckatrade for example). Tradesman/Contractors - do not do work for this company. They will not pay you. ERG trades as 'ERG Facilities' and 'ERG Facilities LTD'.

One star rating is still too much for this appalling company - I only chose them at random out of a list of companys because I needed someone quickly. In truth the whole company hasnt got a clue - except how to con money out of anyone who rings their number. Run a mile if you know whats good for you.

I am the director of a small electrical contractor and the company conduct of ERG has been nothing short of TERRIBLE! At this time of writing my company is owed 6 payments dating back many months for works carried out on their behalf… I have been passed pillar to post and the accounts department very rarely answers the phone once you manage to get the number. Emails are responded to that payments are been looked into and will be released asap and the payments never materialised. If you are a contractor working for or considering sun contracting on behalf of ERG my advice would be don’t get involved. 30 days waiting terms for payments and often you will wait longer or in my case the payments done come at all. Awful company from not only the consumers side but also the contractors they use to carry out work are ripped off. No morals what so ever at ERG.

Very angry that waited in for two whole days. Had to keep phoning to find out were the plumber was. Phone calls were cut off on a few occasions. When I did get through I was informed that someone would definitely be coming but no-one came. I did get a call on the first and second evening to tell me they were not coming. Would have been better if I was told sooner to make other arrangements.

This company took a booking for removal of radiators. They failed to turn up. When I rang them they twice told me someone was on the way. On a third call, they suddenly told me their subcontractor was on holiday and would not be coming. This was on a Friday and I had other contractors waiting on the plumber to do their work. I had to make alternative arrangements with another company (who were very good) and this all cost an extra £350. Worst service I have ever received from a plumbing company. My advice - do not use them they are unreliable.

Booked to check 3 leaking toilet flush mechanisms. The engineer was here at the most 15 minutes, still charged £135+VAT, said he needed to order parts. Phoned the next day with quote, £559, to replace 3 flush mechanisms which they said would take 3-4 hours work. The parts are £15.99 each and my neighbour did his in an hour. DONT TOUCH ERG WITH A BARGE POLE. To be honest I’m surprised they’re still trading and can sleep at night.

Disgustingly rude woman on the phone. She said engineers charge by the hr £245 + VAT per hour. I hesitated and said I couldn't stretch to that. Before I had a chance to say anything else she hung up. Disgusting. Who does she think she is? She certainly shouldn't be customer facing/front of house! I've read other comments. I'm surprised this company exists. Don't touch them with a barge pole. Didn't get as far as an engineer so I guess this will NEVER be posted but I will find some way to let people know how poor you are! Social media is a great asset.

£135.00 for 2 minute inspection only to be told that leak was coming from oil boiler that they were not registered to touch. Poor service

Really Bad!! Took the morning off work, for an appointment between 09.00 and 13.00. Must admit the Lady who took the call was very helpful. My job was a very simple electrical oven instalment. Should take 10 mins, because I knew this , I was aware that a lot of electricians would prefer a larger job. So I chose to use ERG, despite being almost twice the price, I just wanted the job done. Was called at 12.17 to ask if I could change the appointment to the afternoon, as previous job had overrun, OK, I said but as I have to return to work, can you give me a time? No was the answer, it would be between 13.00 and 17.00 … Now unless I’m missing something here, I’m the Customer, not the other way around… If I don’t go to work I don’t get paid. Imagine me calling my Boss.”Hi .. need extra time off.. the Electrical Guy is running late, can’t give me a time … Should be today…I’m sure you understand….!! REALLY.. I cancelled the appointment .. much to the surprise of the guy who’d called me. His surprise was almost like I’d cancelled a last minute Dr’s emergency appointment.. I subsequently contacted a local Electrician directly who has given me a one hour slot next week at half the price.. Just Saying.

Unbelievably poor service. I tried this company as they advertise fast, reliable and affordable emergency support 24/7 see screen shots. I had an emergency leak on a Sunday and they said someone would be with me that day. No one came! They told me someone would attend in the morning. No one came! They told me they would be there by 2pm. No one came! I cancelled them and called a proper plumber. Definitely NOT fast! Definitely NOT reliable! £175+vat+parts for a Sunday call out. I was willing to pay this as it was urgent. Don't waste your time!

Absolutely shockingly poor company! One of the WORST companies I have dealt with in a long time!! Giving them 1 star is generous but I'm unable to leave zero stars!! They absolutely DO NOT know the meaning of customer service. Waited in for 3 days for a plumber to show. The first day we rang at 5.30pm to find out where the plumber was and why he hadn't come and were told the plumber 'did not have time'!! and he would be with us the following Tuesday (6 days later) at 8.30am. Tuesday came and I waited in again, rushing around on the school run, etc to get back. Again he did not show and we were told at 5.15pm that he again did not have time and he would be with us the next day. How could that be when we were told he would be with us at 8.30am?? Anyway, Wednesday came and went and again...surprise, surprise! No plumber!! Tried to charge us £160 'consultation charge' for 10 minutes to find out what our problem was and then argued with us over the phone and tried to make out that we were lying when we said we hadn't been told this information, which we weren't told at all. I would recommend giving this farce of a company a VERY wide berth because they are a complete waste of space. If you have a look on Trust Pilot you will see over 300 1 star comments from very unhappy customers and it is growing!!

I booked with this company purely because their website says same day call out. I booked at 2pm and gave my personal bank details for payment as that’s the only method they accept, received my confirmation email and was told someone will be with me within 4 hours to fix my heating, I have 2 small children one of which is at school as the call out wait was over a 4 hour period I had to make arrangements for someone else to pick my child up from school as I couldn’t incase I missed the engineer. At 5pm after sitting in the cold for 3 hours I get a call from ERG saying they can’t get anyone out now within the time scale to do the job and in fact the next availability will be on Tuesday! Which is 4 days away! How is this in anyway acceptable to leave someone sat in for 3 out of the promised 4 hours to then tell them oh actually no it will be 4 days for a call out. As they let me down at 5pm on a Friday they left it too late for me to make other arrangements because it’s Friday at 5pm! Had they told me that at 2pm when I made the booking then other options would have been available for me to contact other companies. I don’t find this acceptable by any means to treat customers in this way nor should they advertise same day call out on their website. It’s absolutely disgusting!

Absolutely useless. I was looking for the quick response that they advertised only to be contacted at the end of the appointment time to be told that they were caught up on a job elsewhere. A further appointment was made for the following day. Same thing happened. They then said that they could attend two days later, in other words three days after the original appointment. Avoid at all costs!

Appalling. I had a non-working boiler, contacted ERG for rapid service. Agreed next day visit. Next day they rang to say they couldn't make it, rearranged for the next day. Next day, same thing happened. Eventually this "fast response" company arrived on the fourth day after calling them. It then got worse. The engineer noted (correctly) that the batteries in the thermostat needed replacing and after replacing them concluded that the remote thermostat was not communicating with the boiler, and advised me to get a new receiver. He disconnected the wiring loom to the internal boiler clock and seemed very unclear about what he was doing. At one point I had to download a YouTube video to show him how to reset the receiver. For this I was charged £150. I got a new receiver, fitted that plus the new batteries, and still the boiler didn't work (it was working for hot water and firing up on demand, so the issue was clearly the thermostat/timer controls). I tried to get ERG to attend again because they hadn't fixed the issue, their customer service agreed two possible dates and their engineer would contact me to agree times. Not a peep - no communications at all. I then got a local firm to come out and their engineer arrived next day and took only 15 minutes to identify that the fault was that the internal timer on the boiler had been turned off. He turned it back on to continuous operation and the boiler roared into life. Problem solved. I then complained to ERG for their tardiness, their lack of competence, and that I had paid out for a new receiver (not needed) and another engineer. They rejected my complaint, their engineer said that he had not advised me regarding the receiver (it was actually noted on the invoice) and that he had made two visits (he had only made one). I am now taking them to court.

Best to avoid. Took money for work they couldn't fulfill due to lateness and policies. Booked an engineer to come out to fix a gas pipe, I took a day off work for the engineer. They were over 6 hours late so I waited in over 10 hours for them to actually arrive, I was told engineers can't come after 5 but he came at half 6 (no need for me to take a days unpaid work). When the engineer arrived they warned me they likely wouldn't be able to complete the job as they can only work until a certain time, they worked for 30 minutes and said they'd come back so to call the booking team the following day for more details. The next morning I was charged a full hours work (£170) as that's the minimum hours they charge, even though the engineer was running so late he couldn't work a full hour. It took 2 more days of calling the booking team to get any further information at which point they quoted me another 2-4 hours work and £80 for parts which would of cost less than £10 to obtain. Before this quote I made a formal complaint about all the problems of lateness, lack of communication and charging for work that they couldn't fulfill. The emailed reply days later was really awful, answered one problem and was formatted REALLY badly as if a child had written it. To top it off I got another large company in to have a look, they fixed it in a day (late but did their job) and it cost £120! If further works would like to contact me my order number was 393114.

Little better than scammers. You'd have to be desperate to use this company and we were, so we did, prepared to pay the exorbitant charges because we needed reliability. They didn't turn up within the four hour window, then phoned when they plainly hadn't gotten their money, full of apologies which soon turned to threats we would have to pay anyway, when we then cancelled, having waited another 90 mins. Excuse me? The best part of 160 quid for nothing?? I don't think so.

My elderly mum rang her local electrician and arranged a visit. She then got an email from ERG confirming the appt. She thought it odd but assumed that her normal company had been taken over by ERG. Her normal company did the work but she was contacted by ERG to say they were overbooked and could they reschedule. When she made the booking she gave card details. So somehow ERG had accessed/hacked her normal company. Its a completely different area code. Scammers indeed.
