I had to award 1 star to start this review, but would rather give zero stars. We bought a property which had been "upgraded" with Everest windows and doors 1 year previously. We quickly found the property to suffer from draughts and water ingress around the windows. Due to the exposed situation, these issues had to be addressed so we decided to apply external insulation and larch cladding to the property. Out of 4 tradesmen who came to quote for the work, all 4, unsolicited, pointed out first thing that the external Everest windowsills did not actually overhang the walls, in fact were not even flush with the wall, so basically channelled rainwater into the wall under the window or door. During the works, a catalogue of shoddy workmanship was revealed: The external sills not overhanging the external walls. Chipboard used to pack out the window frame to the opening instead of timber. Damp causes chipboard to swell and deteriorate. Huge gaps only partially filled with expanding foam or silicon sealant. The main door, a double-door assembly, not supported underneath, the door simply hanging on screws through the frame sides with a 4" gap underneath. This set-up meant the weather barrier under the door was actually the internal skirting! I contacted the local Everest office to request an engineer to come and assess the installation. Appointments were cancelled without us being informed, meaning we waited an entire day for someone who was never going arrive. Everest stated they had called and informed me of the cancellation the day before the appointment: If that was the case, why would I have waited all day? I had not received any calls from Everest that day. When I eventually spoke to the local manager, he told me he had decided not to transfer the Everest "lifetime warranty" from the lady who actually purchased the windows and doors 1 year previously, to me. I was not aware Everest could make such a choice. To my mind, Everest performed an incredibly shoddy installation and, when caught out so soon afterwards, tried desperately to avoid their responsibilities. The photos uploaded below will prove just how shoddy the installation actually was. It is little wonder Everest felt the need to be born again with the reputation of being such absolute garbage hanging over them.

Everest the worst window company ever! 3days to install 12 windows and a door. One fitter one sweeper uper. Result shocking. Gaps you can get you fingers in. Twisted frames. The put cheap trim over the gaps. Windows sing when windy. Then the life warranty in the bin because the wind up old company and then op under a new one sneaky little.... NEVER EVER USE EVEREST YOU WILL REGRET IT. now I'm fixing the windows myself what choice do I have.

Unfortunately can only agree with all these comments. The company has used Covid to undertake a fully planned pre-packed administration and walk away from their obligations. It is a disgrace that they are allowed to get away with it and cause such distress and inconvenience to the contractors and customers they have let down. They present themselves as an established company with a long standing pedigree but in fact have voided all their obligations under the so called "lifetime" guarantee and fail to tell you they were only established in June 2020 with a zero credit worthiness and do not even show as trading on Companies House. From the initial sales visit from Freddie Clark to the divisional manager Richard Coles they ignore all attempts to contact them and have no interest in putting things right. PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS These comments on this site are not made up but represent the frustrations of many many genuine customers who have been left out of pocket.

Never been harassed in my own house until I had an Everest sales person coming to get an advise on my windows! I can go and go and go about what was wrong, as myself in sales, but I would just say two words- INCREDIBLY unprofessional! Only by this reason I would never ever use this company!!! Called them as thought they are top 'window' company, but it feels like they are top from the bottom!

Avoid, Avoid,Avoid. Taken over by 'Better Capital' a private equity company in 2012 because they were a distressed company. They have never made a profit since 2012. Went bust in June 2020 and 'Better Capital' wound up! Have re-invented themselves as "Everest2020" with the same lousy product, incompetent management and non existent customer service. Thousands of customers and suppliers have been left in the lurch with non existent guarantees and non payments. The company was purchased in a 'pre-packed' administration by Jon Moulton, former CEO of 'Better Capital' for £12.5m in June 2020 with the intention of selling them on within 2 years. Of great significance, the credit card companies have abandoned them so you cannot pay by credit card and therefore have no protection! This is a rogue company that should have gone under years ago and will at sometime in the not too near future. Their product is overpriced, inferior quality, badly fitted and there is no back up and support when things go wrong. Look at all the other negative posts on this site. I can only repeat: Avoid,Avoid,Avoid!

Do not use. Salesmen will do anything possible to get onto your sofa, if you agree to a sale they will continue to ‘pop round’ whenever it suits them without calling ahead. Pretty looking products at a very high premium but originally with a very long term guarantee - which was a necessity as we had to call 5 times in the first year to fix a blown window and multiple broken locks. Now they’ve changed ownership, that guarantee is non-existent and our house insurance is now a waste of money as we still cannot lock our home. Would give 0 stars if possible.

Very disappointed. The sales rep was the only professional person we dealt with. We paid the extra to have “the best” and have been left with a nice looking glass extension that is currently leaking from 4 different points. The re-organisation now means there is no longer any responsibility for them to correct the problem. Very dissatisfied. There are many other companies out there offering similar quality products but with much better customer service.

Avoid Everest, go with a local company. Do not look after customers or honour guarantees.

I empathise with all the other people on here who have had bad experiences with Everest. To cut my long story short...I had an installation done just before Christmas 2019 and had reasons to need to make a formal complaint about the poor workmanship. I was promised that my complaint would be dealt with within 8 weeks. It was not. The customer service I received was appalling...just a load of missed appointments, delays and empty promises. This took us to mid- March 2020...and then we had lockdown. During this time Everest went into administration and, through this process, have conveniently been able to wash their hands of all their previous customers. Our guarantees and life-time warranty are null and void. Most annoying of all, they have restarted trading under a new name, Everest 2020. Clearly, it suits them very nicely to start with a clean sheet...and not have to face their responsibilities towards their customers from before lockdown. AVOID THIS COMPANY.

Having had 8 windows replaced by Everest in February. One of the bedroom windows has ceased to open and is now a fire escape risk. 2 other bedroom windows are becoming stiff to open. Have contacted Everest and been told they will no longer honour the guarantees. Absolutely appalled that this can happen. I would definitely stay away from this company.

I have had the worst phone quote experience with this company. The person who called me was sighing on the phone when I asked him to repeat his question and he just told me 'for a replacement like this, is is going to be around 10 grand'. No information about the guarantees and no effort to engage with the client. For me this was really a deterrent to hire their services, even if they were the cheapest (actually so far they were the most expensive ones).

Lost a significant amount of money as my window deposit was lost as the company went into receivership. There were a number of other warning signs such as a useless planning application and the need for a repeat survey.

NEVER use this company or it's new company everest 2020. 11 years I have been patiently waiting for them to fix my garage door that cost a lot of money and never did work properly. Now, it's gone bust. Then they start again with a new name. Don't fall for this, they are rubbish. Way over priced, never wanting to fix any of their issues. I think its dreadful that they just close and re open by putting 2020 on the end. I hope they fail. I hope you don't get caught up with their rubbish product. They make me feel sick.

Customer ref: 42/EF1891AV Be warned! My family and I have been through over a year of hell after having to seek legal advice against this company after they breached several building regulations on a brick extension. The £1k I spent on an expert witness report was well spent money and if you ever find yourself in the same situation then evidentially you will need something like this. The workmen cut corners everywhere. They put plasterboard underneath a screed floor bridging a gap (this had already started to collapse which we only discovered due to the screed floor being incorrectly laid and coming away in pieces. Our floor would have essentially collapsed!) and put plastic packers and chunks of wood where the ceiling lintel had not been sat correctly on brick work! They tried to cover this up on the outside with plastic trim! These are massive safety issues and we ended up having to employ an independent builder to correct the works after the replacement ‘expert’ Everest sent breached building regulations again. This does not even scratch the surface on all of the faults. On top of all of this, we went through over 7 bifold doors with Everest and they finally admitted a fault at the manufacturers but would not openly admit they had got their measurements wrong. Even after they admitted fault we still had to get their permission to come out of the contract and employ another agency to replace these doors! Everest do not care about you and they certainly do not fit the best as per their slogan! If there is a legal issue then the head of this team Nick Flanagan tries to bully you in backing down and accepting his first offer. Even our solicitor found him ‘hard work’ and agreed regarding his bullying nature around his ‘scare tactics’ in his emails. For example, he makes threats to take you to court then backs down a week later with an offer! Everest have never apologised to us despite the CEO telling us that as a company they had failed us. Well once it went to the legal team then anything the CEO promised us just went straight out the window! I spent over a year of stress managing this legal situation which was partly whilst on maternity leave. During all of this we were unable to use any of our downstairs living space for over a whole year because of the delays Everest caused and the rectification works. That is two adults and one baby living in just two bedrooms! Please try and imagine the stress of that situation with no living space. Essentially , they also took away from me my maternity leave which should have been spent concentrating on my baby. I am more than happy to talk to anyone about our experience and I have retained all of the evidence of this throughout our year plus of hell! I would have quite happily seen this company to court but illness in the family meant we had to come to some sort of acceptance. By the way, they refused to honour our guarantee so if anything else goes wrong (we did find fault with the foundation but no surprise there!) then we will have to seek legal advice again! Please, please, please think twice about using this company! Their work is cheap, shoddy, illegal and dangerous! Certainly from our experience anyway. Read through the reviews online and you will actually find similar stories.! I will look to add evidential photos later.

We had four windows replaced by Everest in October 2019, during the installation work the fitters told me one of the windows had a faulty mechanism and would not open, they said they would send a report to Everest to send an engineer to repair it. We made numerous calls and left messages to ask when it would be repaired. It is now 29/3/2020 and have never received a reply.

In August 2019 I paid for surveyor to visit in order to get a replacement handle on the Everest front door that was out of guarantee period. He came and I was asked to pay the full cost of installing the handle before the item could be ordered. I paid. From that point on I've been trying to get a date for it to be fitted. For 3 months they argued between themselves whether stores had sent the part to the technician. Stores said yes technician said no. After that a technician arrived but with the wrong handle. Then i had to wait another 2 months. Today is the 16 January 2020 - 6 months after paying - and I am told that at last someone will come on Tuesday next week to do the work. Let's see if they do.

BE WARNED!!!! DON'T BE FOOLED BY THEIR APPARENT 'GREAT REPUTATION' My contract number, in case people think I may be making this up, is EF3464AX. PLEASE READ THIS. I had read the reviews on Trustpilot and decided to go with Everest, even though they were not the cheapest, but because of their supposed high level of customer service. I had bought cheap in the past through Crystal Windows, who had to come back 5 times to fix my door lock. So I didn't want that hassle and thought I'd pay a premium for a high quality of service. The sales guy was very charming, nice and professional. He did the whole sales pitch and even jumped up and down on his window pane sample to show me how strong and secure it was. I explained about the bit of bad luck with Crystal Windows and how I wanted to go with someone who could assure quality. But from the moment you hand over that deposit, they become OBSESSED with getting the rest of their money I've had literally the ***WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER*** I will say to all of those that were lucky to get a good install first time around, that you were lucky. If your install goes badly, like mine did, it gets very NASTY. They just want your money ASAP with ZERO Customer Service Skills. I've sent them a list of TEN SNAGGING ITEMS including, would you believe, a crack that goes the whole entire length of the pane of glass where it was broken upon installation. I have a small child in the house who we now have to keep away from the pane of glass as it is cracked and moving. I haven't even received a genuine apology for the damage caused to my property??? They have failed to even give me a return date to put things right, but apparently the install manager Byron Whipple has sent me a legal letter by post today (rather strange how he didn't just attach it to his nasty email) as I've refused to pay the balance until they come and put right all of the things that they have either damaged on install, or are faulty. Just two days after the install and you're sending me legal letters?? are you serious? I just want the job put right. Would you drive a car out the showroom with a smashed windscreen and dents all over it?? No, so why should I pay the balance on a product which is faulty and you can't even give me a date to come and put it right? SO PLEASE HEED THIS AS A WARNING TO ALL THOSE CONSIDERING USING EVEREST. Regards David

.......WARNING, WARNING, WARNING, WARNING, WARNING, WARNING, WARNING............ If you were to overhear me telling someone how my 12 to 14 WEEK build for my "Conservatory" was going, you would step in and call BS, it is that unbelievable but PLEASE, read the following and follow the story as I write it. I am doing it to warn people off and save them the hassle that I am having to endure. THIS IS NOT A JOKE. www.georgepas.co.uk/everest-home-improvements www.georgepas.co.uk/everest-home-improvements-2 www.georgepas.co.uk/everest-home-improvements-part-three www.georgepas.co.uk/everest-home-improvements-part-four www.georgepas.co.uk/everest-home-improvements-part-five www.georgepas.co.uk/everest-home-improvements-part-six Everything is factual and is backed up by physical paperwork. NOTHING is fabricated. Not everything can be disclosed as I will need to disclose it in court. £670 already paid in legal fees. £4305 and rising legal fees to pay. £620 Surveyors fees so far. £38,000+ for the "conservatory" which is still not finished and actually has to be pulled down and started again. My surveyors report is damning of the build. I have sent pictures to EVEREST HOME IMPROVEMENTS showing many defects including the inside wall being wet over TWO FEET up starting at the floor which is also wet. EVEREST HOME IMPROVEMENTS OWN SURVEYOR has written a damning report. One conservatory company who have been in business over thirty years REFUSE to touch it as "there is so much wrong with it, it will never be right". Another with a similar trading time has said that it needs to be pulled down and started again INCLUDING THE FOOTINGS! All of these reports are in the possession of the head of legal NICK FLANAGAN who refuses to accept this information and act on it. He also now IGNORES LETTERS from my solicitor. Copy and paste the first link and follow the disgusting way that EVEREST HOME IMPROVEMENTS operate and treat their customers. To help you to try to understand why I am writing about it and trying to draw your attention to it, is because the planning and designing was done in February/March 2017 and they started the physical work June 7th 2017. It is now 23 September 2019. I hope that people will read about my ongoing nightmare and the reviews of other victims and use an alternative company. Kind regards. G

Nothing but a poor experience, they couldn't care less about customer service or about treating the customer with respect. In our situation every single window and door had to be reset, every window & door had air leaking past the badly adjusted frames. They also attempted to get us to sign off the work before it was complete a number of times. We were spun a number of different lines about the air leaks, the best and most disturbing by far was where the fitter said "oh yes that happens, sometimes the frame needs to settle" - In this case it was the fact that the frame was not square and had to be "adjusted" by almost 25rmm and that the window opener was incorrectly adjusted It wasn't even down to a particular fitter, we had more than one team and they all made mistakes that i would have expected only if they were amateurs. They "lost" a complete window, i'd have given them more props if they had just said "i'm sorry it was forgotten on the build list and we have to rush it through the factory" but they didn't and it took 6 weeks to appear. Other than asking to get paid their ability to communicate is shocking, overall an horrendous experience that i'd rather never repeat.
