AVOID - SCAMMERS They collected my car for an MOT service, and sent back a list of £800-worth of recommended 'fixes'. I was stressed and concerned about the amount of money this would cost, and was a little skeptical as I had never used Fixter before. I called the local guy from home that my family uses (and that I used to use before moving to London), and he told me a number of things on the list were not even plausible with the model of car I had, and that I should take my car into him. I did take my car to him, and after checking the list of fixes they suggested, he said it was absolute rubbish and they were clearly taking advantage. They had also missed a couple of crucial fixes my car did need. Absolute scammers, waste of time and money. Whatever response they write to this comment, ignore it

From the Fixter Website: "How it works: Painless car maintenance" - if you are lucky, it might be - but if anything goes wrong you'll wish you hadn't: I booked our car for an MOT with Fixter. Driver arrived a bit early to pick the car up (good) but there was no formality - no ID from the driver, no check of the vehicle, just hand over the car and they take it Unsettling, but OK, I can live with that. Got updates throughout the day (so far so good) and the car was due back between 2 & 4. Unfortunately, I lost track of time and didn't notice until after 6 that the car was not back with us - no messages or updates and no one to contact. Car was eventually dropped off at about 7pm - no explanation, no apology. That's a 2* review - THEN on Monday, we are contacted by our insurance company because the car had been in an accident on its way back to us - but no one had told us - and a claim had been made against our insurance! I've spent the morning trying to sort it out - discovered some minor damage on our car (cause of course there was no check when it was given back either). Fixter's response? Blame it all on the garage - no offer of help, no offer of compensation - I was your customer Fixter - my contract was with you - the damage was caused by you. (and in case I get the bland response to this review - "please contact us" - that was your 'complaints' department' who fobbed me off with nothing). So, it has been anything but painless. Fixter has added no value to the process but their involvement has made it more (not less) complicated. As with so many things - avoid going through an intermediary - it's fine if it all works but if it doesn't you realise that they are just taking your money - they add 0 value.

Realised my MOT was due at short notice and Fixter appeared on my Google search. I was really pleased to get a booking confirmed, or so I thought, for the day after my expiry date. I hadn't heard back so the next day I contacted Fixter to ask which garage would be doing it, so I could check their credentials only to find out there were none available on Friday 23rd September but I could be booked in on 4th October! A complete waste of time... getting a slot booked means nothing and wastes time looking for a legitimate appointment.

I booked an MOT with them, they moved one time commenting there was an issue with the Garage. They moved the second appointment arbitrarily again, with no consideration of when my MOT was going to be due. I have wasted time that I could've used booking with a better garage than this awful service. DO NOT USE FIXTER!

Horrendous service. They took my car for service and mot and it was returned damaged. The driver agreed that it was not there before and called the office. I then spoke to them and was told that yes the driver had agreed with me and to send a couple images for the paperwork. I was told not to worry it’ll be sorted in 24 to 48 hours. 5 days later I did not hear back and contacted them. They promised call back and email responses 5 separate times and they didn’t I had to contact them. The feedback I gave via a feedback email was ignored and so was email and letter to the CEO. They offered for the garage to polish out mark but then suddenly decided to no longer acknowledge the scratch. I said no I want it to go to the dealer but they’ve refused. Today I went through their email thread again today but noticed that my previous email with images had been edited it the thread. I just want a full refund these people are morally bankrupt and unprofessional don’t use them. Look at the original email thread v the one they have clearly edited with different images and they are circled. Check the dates and times I’m not lying. I just want a full refund and never have anything to do with these people again. The CEO did nothing. He ignored email to him and letter as well as the fact he was cc’d into all these emails. I now have to pay for scratch and mark to my car to be sorted. If I was a man I wonder if different outcome.

My car was returned 4 hours after the expected time, with 2 warning lights on the dashboard, while my car was in perfect state when they collected it. They said they got a nail in the tyre and did not fix it correctly. The MOT was not done despite what they said, and it expired. They came back to pick up the car to fix the tyre, and drove over 120 miles with it!!! Do not use them!!

I recently paid for a “full service” only to find out after looking at my stamped service book, that i’d actually received an interim service. Apparently Fixters idea of a full service is different to the garages, so my service book is incorrect and I am out of pocket. Fixter have taken no responsibility so I am having to pay again for the correct service to be carried out. Terrible customer experience. If you want a “Full Service” you will need to pay for a “Major Service” which is double the price you’d pay at the garage. In future I will be booking directly to ensure I receive what I pay for.

Found these online, quote was £75.95, thought that was reasonable. Only needed new brake pads on the front of my car. Got an email the day before going there to tell me the quote had changed and it would cost me £146 .....absolute joke. Should be the quote given straight away on the website and not £60 less than it will actually be. Pisstakers. They have the nerve to want £20 to cancel the booking, well I refused to pay it. I wasn't paying £146 either when the quote was £75.95. So when i contacted about it, they had decided i needed a new sensor.....where had they got that from? I had booked front brake pads. When i responded with that, they then tried telling me i would have a light come on if i didn't get a new sensor too. I told them i wasn't going to the booked appointment and i wasn't paying the £20 cancellation fee either. Anyway i booked in somewhere else and had my brake pads done and guess what? No light has come on and I've had no issues. These are scammers and can't be trusted.

They took my Range Rover for replacement of all four brake pipes . My car was picked up and then it all aent downhill. The daily cry off of return was galling, despite email updates of poor service! No car has been returned nor money back simple 'updates' from a non returnable email address. Poor communication blaming their chosen garage for ordering the wrong part. Pathetic 'service' and galling silence. My Solicitor and Police have advised that a daily charge can be added now for my time without transport. My car must be returned in good order with no transport accidents or lack of care for my car whilst the work must be done for the AA to check. I am both angry and let down by this shoddy aervice. Trustpilot must explain it's reviews as all are full stars ridiculous.

I will never use this company again. My car conveniently failed it’s MOT due to “dirty brake fluid”, I was then charged an extortionate price to repair and pass. If I did not pay then they would not return my car back to me so I would have to try and travel 45 minutes with a toddler to pick up my car. I called fixter to dispute the price before confirming as I felt it was high (nearly double other online estimates). I was told by Callum that the garage set the price and that he would contact them to try and negotiate a better price and call me back. I then receive a call back to say the garage would not reduce the costs and told the price was inflated as they use “high quality brake fluid”. I had no choice really but to confirm the work with Callum as I was pretty much stuck and needed the vehicle back. Shortly after got a call from the garage asking me whether I wanted to go ahead with the work as they had not heard anything from me. I advised the mechanic that I had just got off the phone with fixter and was confused as to why he was not aware that I was disputing the charge and Callum had told me he had contacted him to ask about the price. The mechanic then advised me that they had not heard anything from fixter and that it is fixter who sets the price not him, he is just told by then whether to do the work or not. I then called back fixter to complain as it is clear that Callum lied to me and fixter do not want to reduce the price. He pretty much admitted to lying and said that he said that because he was trying to work out with his colleague if there was anything they could do. He apologised and said customer service will contact me regarding compensation and or some sort of reimbursement. I waited nearly a week with no contact from them so I made a call to then be told there is nothing they can do. I was told I was not forced to accept the work and that the dishonesty will be dealt with in house. I was told that I need to think of it from a business point of view and the reason they will not reduce price or reimburse me because fixter will not make a profit. Completely unprofessional ! Never again would I use this company and don’t recommend anyone else to either.

Thought I'd give Fixter a try , wish I'd never heard the name . The garage they gave me quotes for . Asked for my van to be dropped between 8:30-9:30 in the morning . Dropped at 8:30am for a 3-4 hour job . At 5pm I was notified they didn't have the fan belt for my Campbelt change . Bearing in mind this was booked 2 weeks in advance . They would be keeping my van for another day . With all my tools inside and noway to collect them . As a manager I asked for to call me back didn't bother . After 2 more calls still a manager is yet to call . I had a job booked in for a full shutdown of a medical supply telephone sales office . So all staff had been told to take that shift off 10 hours . So I had to call their Director up at home on his personal number . To tell him at 7pm I couldn't do the job . Hence now ther is talk of a public liability claim . For loss of earnings , due to having to shut down not once , but twice . Due to this inept company and the garage on their books . Its now 14:35 on the 2nd day of the job . Still I've yet to be contacted by a manager . Told at one point a manager wasn't going to speak to me . Unless I write and send him an email first of my complaint . So in other words didn't really care , wasn't worried about anything . Just sat on his .... .... bum , never has I as a director of my own company. Ever been treated like this before . They think their getting paid . More likely to be sued for 10 hours of 2 floors of telephones sales losses . They want me to connect back to single phase so atleast they can use phones for next shift . My deadline for this is 6pm . Its 14:40pm now . Its a 2hr drive into and across London . So more likely than not it will be a 6 figure liability settlement . By Fixter as I and my public liability holders . Will be pointing them straight in Fixters direction . All I've been told so far is lie after lie after lie . Feel sorry for the customer service guy on the end of the phone . As he keeps trying and the managers keep lying . I've lost out on £250 for the day

What a terrible experience! I booked my car in for an MOT... it was collected.. It failed.. fair enough, but I wasn't told why and then they billed me, took the payment from my credit card without authorisation and fitted a poor quality tyre despite my car originally having 4 Continentals tyres. Without any communication, the car was returned to me with a crappy tyre, a large bill and no one to complain to despite leaving numerous answerphone messages and emails

I booked my car in for a simple cam belt replacement. The work was finished the same day, but I still haven't had my car back 3 days later. Their customer service is dire: they haven't kept me informed, and I have no idea when I can have my car back!

Day 1, no collection and no communication until I called asking why they hadn't collected the car. Fixter messed up and hadn't arranged collection although all correspondence clearly said this. Day 2, no communication until I called asking why they hadn't collected car. Apparently the driver was running late. 2.5 hrs later he collects. Fixter then leave a message to say car won't be done until Day 3. Rang garage and they said all Fixters fault for being late. I will not be paying for this service!!!

DO NOT USE THIS SCAM COMPANY. So not only did they not return my car after the MOT and service I booked and did not answer the phone. They didn’t even arrange for my service to be carried out, yet charged me for it. The person who collected my car (and couldn’t even actually start my car) did not return it, and just replied to my message with “sorry for the inconvenience. Couldn’t get to the garage” what kind of circus is this? I am appalled. This is some backstreet service. My 3 year old cousin could write up a better business model than this. Honestly an embarrassment. You should honestly be embarrassed and shut down immediately. What is the point of you? Your tagline is “hassle free” really? Because all you have caused me is hassle.

Misguided I wish i could write something good about my experience but checking upon some review i thought to have live chat before i make booking for my car repair. I was booked in for today collection and repair of my car i agreed on the price given by the agent given to me and today no one turn up so i called to find out and agent informed me on the call the job has been cancelled because the price for the is too low. i do appreciate the agent called me twice and only apologised for not helping me out in this situation. So it's just my experience with the company. I can only share this to public and make them aware to avoid these kind of situations. Do not waste your time contact yourself with garages direct avoid fake quotations and get the real work done on real places. I have learnt my lesson hope no one should face this. Thanks

Do not use them as they cannot deliver the service they promise. I booked my car for an MOT and a full service, they confirmed they were collecting and delivering the same day unless extra works were required. I asked for some time off at work to be at the collection point the time agreed. They contacted me only a day before the collection date to postpone the service for the following day, same time of collection. The night before the collection they changed the time from 8.30-10.30 to 9.30-11.00. I had no option so had to call work to advise the change. Nobody turned up. At 11.00 I called the customer service center and they advised they couldn't get hold of the garage so they may be on their way to pick my car up. I said I could await for another hour but no longer. After an hour nobody turned up so I called the customer service again and same answer. I decided then to cancel the whole booking and look for an alternative. Fixter cannot guarantee any type of service and they do mostly depend on the garage so it's a complete joke. They work as an intermediate party for a service they cannot fulfill. Go direct to a garage and avoid Fixter. Waster of time.
